While visiting a Clay Cooley auto dealership in Irving Texas today to purchase a new vehicle, I had the worst and most bizarre car dealing experience ever in my lifetime. I looked at a vehicle, then nego Texas today to purchase a new vehicle, I had the worst and most bizarre car dealing experience ever in my lifetime. I looked at a vehicle, then negotiated and agreed upon a price with the sales team. However, once I mentioned having my own financing, the sales team said it was against their policy and they could not sale me the vehicle as long as I had my own financing. I am at a loss for words and have nothing to safe positive about my experience in dealing with Clay Cooley auto dealership. More
I recently had my truck serviced at Clay Cooley transmission went out and had to be towed. The closest dealer ship was Clay Cooley in Irving. I was originally told the cost would be $3000 which transmission went out and had to be towed. The closest dealer ship was Clay Cooley in Irving. I was originally told the cost would be $3000 which I authorized a couple of hours later I was called again and told they made a mistake and now the cost was $5000. I was obviously not happy but authorized the repair. I picked up my truck late on a Friday and the inside of my truck had grease stains on the seat console, door handle and drivers side carpet and on the outside of the front around the hood. I didn’t say anything thinking no big deal I got my truck back and had to drive back to Mesquite on a late Friday afternoon during rush hour. I didn’t notice that they had damaged the front bumper until I got home. Now I was pissed! I went back to the dealership on Tuesday and asked to talk to the GM. I waited and never got to talked to him they instead brought out the director over the service department and he said he won’t do anything since I didn’t report when I picked up the truck. After spending many minutes talking about the issue he promised to check their cameras and see if it came in with the damage and call me back this was July it is now October and still no call. They have a big sign at the cashier window Thayer states if you are not happy you can talk to the GM and he will make it right. I call xx I never got a response from him. Us my experience as a warning. Don’t shop him first or shop him last there ain’t no way you should go see Clay!! More
During the purchase of my car, I was rushed through financing, agreed to add one and vehicle price I shouldn’t have and left happy with my car but upset that I let myself be manipulated into agreeing t financing, agreed to add one and vehicle price I shouldn’t have and left happy with my car but upset that I let myself be manipulated into agreeing to expenses I shouldn’t have. Taking my own part in the deal, I decided to go ahead and try to stay with the dealership in services. Today, I had an 8:00 am appointment to get my oil changed and tires rotated. I did not leave until almost 10:30 am. This is ridiculous and I would never recommend friends or family go to this location! More
If I could give this joke of a dealership 0 stars I would- I live out of state (6 hours away) and I began dealing with a salesperson by the name of Tray Allen on Tuesday via web and phone. I have all o would- I live out of state (6 hours away) and I began dealing with a salesperson by the name of Tray Allen on Tuesday via web and phone. I have all of the text messages exchanged between Tray and myself. I had a trade in vehicle and Tray stated that I was good to go for the vehicle I wanted- financing approved and my husband on the loan with me. We put down a down payment on Thursday via phone and made Tray aware that since we live out of state 6 hours away we would be in on Saturday (one of two days off both me and my husband get from work.) Oh and I was encouraged to “just call into work” so I could come pick up the new vehicle on Thursday or Friday instead of waiting until the weekend. We get to the dealership today after leaving home early this morning only to find out Tray had blatantly lied to me- flat out lied and lied by omission. I was informed the dealership would not take my trade, and I was not even on the loan. After all afternoon sitting at this joke of a dealership and one of the sales managers “mentioning” that maybe i should just let my trade in get repossessed so I would not have two car notes (with the new car I did not get) , we left, due to them not wanting to make anything right. Oh and the scammed us out of the down payment- said it would be maybe 2 days or so before we see it refunded back and kept putting it off when I asked numerous times for a receipt showing it was refunded- we never got a receipt before we finally left. We couldn’t have left any earlier because they took my vehicle key from me and somehow “disappeared” for 3 hours. I attempted to ask to speak to Mr. Clay Cooley himself about this complete and utter ridiculousness that happened today, and I was denied. Maybe someone who sees this can get me in contact with him. Regardless I will get in contact with him, or a lawyer will, for blatant deceptive business practices and stealing a large sum of money as a “down payment” after lying to me. Oh and I have cancer (diagnosed 2 months ago) and these clowns took a whole day away from me spending time with my family due to their blatant lies and deception. More

Oh we replace the lost keys, fix chiped windshields, dent repair ect....What? Never lost a key and nowadays windshield chips are repaired for free with your insurance provider. Called to talk to a manager, was answered by a person who called himself JC. Asked what his name was and he said "JC". Very professional! Regardless, find a dealer who is honest up front so you dont waist your time. Might be the worst we have ever dealt with. More
Worst I have seen, and I did not talk to them very long. They are asking $100,000 over MSRP for a corvette. What a shame. They are stealing from Chevrolet if you think about it. MSRP + the dealership ch They are asking $100,000 over MSRP for a corvette. What a shame. They are stealing from Chevrolet if you think about it. MSRP + the dealership charges make these companies a lot of money. Chevrolet could have asked $100,000 more for the corvette, but they supposedly did not for a reason. To allow people access to that kind of car. I believe chevrolet should cease doing business with dealers like this, who prey on their customers and cheat their suppliers. Vandergriff is just like these guys, as I have had dealings with them. Also Plano Buick GMC charge over MSRP when they can get away with it. Buyer beware! More
I have tried several months to get work done on my car I purchased in July 2022. I needed a loaner car to leave my car in service, I was told they didn’t have any available mind u I have been trying all the purchased in July 2022. I needed a loaner car to leave my car in service, I was told they didn’t have any available mind u I have been trying all these months now today I am told there is a waiting list to get a loaner but I have to leave my car to get on the list so I would still be without a car while my car is being worked on. Is that not the dumbest thing u have ever heard. So I ask to speak to service manager. I wait outside in 24 degree temp for at least 20 min and he never comes out. I finally leave. I am so frustrated I don’t know what to do now! I really wonder if Clay Cooley himself knows how poor his service depts are More
