(NOTE: I made my purchase with Classic Ford on the 28th of November; I waited to write my review to reduce the influence of the temporary excitement of having a new vehicle.......I am actually still very pleased and excited about my purchase.) I recently decided to start looking for a needed replacement for my 1997 vehicle. After speaking with several sales people with different dealerships in my area (New Bern,) I finally had my desired vehicle selected. The sales people at my local dealerships were a bit too rigid when it came to negotiating for the purchase. Although this was initially disappointing, it worked out well - it caused me to do a bit more research and phone work. This effort brought me to the discovery of the wonderful dealership in Smithfield - Classic Ford! When I made my first phone contact with Mr. Jamil Stanton, the sales manager, I felt as he was listening and wanted to help me purchase my desired vehicle. When we spoke about a price, he was respectful and made extra effort to arrive at an acceptable final price - all of this over the phone. Once this was finalized, I made an appointment for pickup of the vehicle. NOTE: I have read in another review where someone said the dealership changed the agreement once they traveled to the dealership. This absolutely did not happen for me. At no time was there any effort to re-negotiate the deal made during phone conversations with Mr. Stanton. Even though I needed to get to the dealership late in the day, Jamil promptly greeted my wife and me upon our arrival. He then introduced us to Jake McCormick the sales person who would handle our purchase. Jake is a most pleasant and helpful young man. He made every effort to make sure the vehicle was ready and that we were comfortable with the vehicle. Jake is cordial and concerned about customer satisfaction. He made sure we made it through the purchasing process without any surprises. In addition, I would like to mention the courtesy and respect from Classic Ford's finance manager, Daniel Scarlett. Normally, this is where some extra pressure and maneuvering enter the transaction. Thankfully, that was not the case at all. Daniel guided us through the paperwork and when the time for mentioning the extended warranties and other items occurred, Daniel simply presented these as options and information - no pressure. This was even true with regard to the financing; there was no pressure to have me switch from my chosen institution. All was handled with courtesy and respect for me as a person first and then as a customer, as a customer they would like to have return to their dealership. And based upon this experience, compared with other experiences at other dealers, there is no doubt, Classic Ford of Smithfield will be my first choice for any future vehicle purchases. Save yourself some time and trouble, contact Jamil and/or Jake when you are ready to make your next vehicle purchase! More

Ripped off This is 16 days after my purchase of a new truck.I traded in a 2014 F150 that I purchased at Classic Ford for a 2016 F150. On the 2014 F150 I had purc This is 16 days after my purchase of a new truck.I traded in a 2014 F150 that I purchased at Classic Ford for a 2016 F150. On the 2014 F150 I had purchased a 7 year extended warranty for $5000.00, and a maintenance plan for $1100.00. The amount credited to the new 2016 was a total of $3917.00 for both together. I owned the truck 19 months, had 4 oil changes and no claims on the warranty which starts on the day you buy the vehicle. I figure my 4 oil changes cost me approx. $240.00 each. They would not allow me to transfer the warranty or maintenance plan to the new vehicle. I had to buy new plans if I wanted them. I did buy a new warranty and maintenance plan. After all this was explained to me today 12/16/16, I stated I want to cancel both of them today. They stated the lady that did that was unavailable today and I would have to return another day. DO NOT buy an Extended Warranty or Maintenance Plan at Classic Ford in Smithfield. It is a total rip off. If you want an extended warranty, wait until the factory warranty is almost over. Then get one that you want after researching a few before you make a decision. More

The finance manager told us that the car cost more than we were originally told. It seems that the print out of the bill of sale said we had a deposit due. This was confusing as we were paying the balance due in full. My husband would have walked out but he saw I really liked the car and we paid the additional due. More
Don't expect a callback. I'm 40 years old and this was the worst car buying experience I've ever had. I asked the salesman if he could get me a second key for the vehicle because it only came with one. He said he would look into it. I assume that never happened but I wouldn't know because NOONE from the company will ever attempt to make contact with you after the sale. I spoke to Ray a few days after I got the vehicle home and told him the dash had lit up like a Christmas tree (they obviously reset the lights long enough to sell the truck) and he blew me off and told me to call Stan the general manager. I did and he never called me back either. I went in after work one night and spoke to Daniel (I think was his name) and he assured me he would call me back the next day. Never heard from him either. So after you sign the papers at Classic Ford, they are DONE with you. There is NO service after the sale. Now I have a broke down $20,000 truck with one key. Thanks Classic Ford of Smithfield. More
