Called ahead to speak about a NEW prior model year (2022) vehicle that they had on the lot. It was being used as a courtesy vehicle and had a few thousand miles on it. We discussed price over the phone and came to an agreement. I was also told they would offer top dollar for our trade in as well, as long as we came same-day to purchase the vehicle. I explained that we would be happy to make the purchase, but wanted to use Ford Credit financing so we could take advantage of the incentives of purchasing a prior model year. I received no disagreements for that condition, so we headed to the dealership (almost a 40min drive). After arriving we looked at the vehicle, and it was covered in dirt, dust, bird feces, leaves/sticks, and had a wasp nest that had been built in the front grille. I realized this could easily be remedied with a good wash and detail, and their pricing was fair on the vehicle, so I didn't raise any concerns. After a test-drive we were satisfied and began the purchase process. I re-iterated once again that we wanted our credit application sent to Ford Credit financing, and didn't receive any pushback. The salesman took the paperwork to the sales manager and returned a few minutes later. To my SHOCK they were only offering $500 over what our PAYOFF amount was on our trade-in. Our trade-in was a 2022 model year with less than 7000 miles on it and was in excellent condition with no blemishes and practically new tires. The Kelly Blue Book trade values were showing a MINIMUM trade value that was almost $6,000 MORE than what we were offered. I told them that was unacceptable and that we would need a higher trade value. The salesman walked away and returned again, this time with the trade value in a more reasonable price range. However, their payment terms were DRASTICALLY higher than what the estimates were showing when using Ford Credit, which is what I had repeatedly stated we wanted to use. Around this time, I began getting credit inquiry alerts on my phone. To my dismay, I found that this dealer didn't even run my application through Ford's financing and instead ran it through multiple other financial institutions instead. I asked if the numbers they were showing for monthly payment were the payments through Ford Credit financing and the salesman dodged the question and refused to answer. I then asked about what all of the additional fees were that had been added to the purchase price. Most of them were standard "dealer" fees, but I noticed a fee for almost $1000 that seemed odd. When asking about it, I was told that it was for an upholstery insurance plan. I told them I didn't want this fee and was told "We can't remove that fee, it's a requirement to purchase a vehicle". Not only did this dealer attempt to pocket my $6,000+ in EQUITY on my trade-in, they also ran my credit application through every company EXCEPT the one that I specifically said that I wanted, and tried to force me to buy a $1,000 upholstery insurance plan that I didn't need or want. While the salesman we worked with was very nice and knowledgeable about the vehicle and features, the sales manager at this dealership is doing his best to take advantage of anyone who walks through their doors. I have purchased new Ford vehicles from other dealers in the past and have never been treated in the manner that I was here. Avoid this dealer at all costs. I plan to call Ford corporate and inquire about this "required" upholstery insurance that I was told had to be included to purchase a new Ford. I also plan to find out what someone has to do in order to get a dealer to submit their credit application to Ford Credit financing. This has to be one of the worst Ford dealers in NC. More

Came to test drive an Explorer. Asked for a 6 cylinder. Instead of driving the one literally feet from us that we liked, the salesman brought a 4 cyl from the body shop? Why? It had dents and looked to be taken apart on the inside. The drivers door was broken. We were prepared to buy that day. Lost sale. Never going back. Who does that? Will be driving to see Randy today. This outfit does not know the meaning of service. They refuse to make arrangement for my warranty service. They know I have a brake booster pressure problem and have failed to repair it 3 times now.
