Many dealers closer to me on the South Shore shied away from the model I wanted, Outback 4dr Wagon H6 Auto 3.6R Ltd with none of the added big ticket extras. They either stated that it was too much trouble to find the car or that it would take 2 to 3 months to get it. Well it only took Rob a week to get the car close to the configuration that I wanted at the same agreed to price. He found the car in Vermont and had it on his Belmont lot within the week. Thanks again for the extras!!! When I picked up the car Mark Lidano walked my wife and I through all the bells and whistles of the new car. I spoke with Dwight regarding the situation and he was extremely helpful regarding the price I was looking at and helped me get down to exactly where I wanted to be without any haggling. It was easily the smoothest car transaction I've ever been a part of. I picked my car up a few days later after they fixed the agreed upon items and I've been thrilled ever since. My family had outgrown my 2008 Scion (2 boys, aged 3 and 4), and I was looking for something small(ish), safe, reliable, and fun - a tall order to give to any auto dealer. Add to that my 6 foot 6 inch frame, and it is almost an impossible task to meet my every demand. I never thought I would fit into a Subaru, so I had never considered the brand before. With some pushing from a friend, I decided to give Subaru a shot. I contacted Rob Krasow via email on a Monday morning, explained what my needs were, and set up an appointment for later in the morning to give the Subaru line a look. When I arrived at Cityside, there were two cars lined up for me to test drive. Don and I went for a test drive in a 2010 Outback Sport, and I was impressed - AWD, 170 HP, brisk acceleration, the short gear shifts (manual tranny), the standard equipment that would substantially raise the price of the other cars I was shopping (seat heaters, heated windshield, roof rack, fog lamps, 10 speaker sound system, tonneau cover), and what appeared to be ACRES of SPACE! I was actually comfortable! Upon return from our test, Don handed me the keys to a white 2010 WRX, and sent me back out – alone…I returned with a grin plastered on my face. In Rob's office, both men were low key, and I felt no pressure. Rob worked the numbers and gave me a very reasonable price quote for both cars. They thanked me for coming in, and I left, but not before spying a black 2010 Outback Sport on the lot. I returned home and, after many hours of research, found out that the car I was falling in love with was a logical choice. At five p.m. that very afternoon, I was back at Cityside, giving Rob a deposit on the black Outback Sport. By 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, the guys had provided the necessary paperwork to my insurance company and credit union, and I had a check in hand for Cityside Tuesday afternoon. I picked up my new baby on Thursday evening. I cannot praise Cityside enough - 1) they understood my needs and helped me to find the car that was 'just right'; 2) there was absolutely no pressure; 3) the price was spot on - very reasonable and fair to both of us; 4) they are a group of guys who are genuinely nice! Moreover, they located the exact car I wanted (since the color I wanted wasn't at the dealer the first day I went) within just a few days, FAR sooner than expected. My fiance and I made our first Subaru purchase, a 2010 Forester, at Cityside Subaru with Mark Lidano. We visited a closer Subaru dealer in Wakefield, Massachusetts before going to Cityside Subaru in Belm Forester, at Cityside Subaru with Mark Lidano. We visited a closer Subaru dealer in Wakefield, Massachusetts before going to Cityside Subaru in Belmont, but the first dealership didn't know their products and were generally unprepared and a bit rude. Mark Lidano at Cityside Subaru made us feel very welcome and addressed all of our concerns. He knew every detail about the car, every knob and button, and pointed out details we otherwise would not have noticed. He did not try to upsell us to a more expensive vehicle, trim level, or even any options. I might add that we first visited Cityside in the late summer of 2009, actually buying a Forester about 7 months later. Mark was patient with us throughout the whole process and was not pushy. We must have test driven the Forester four or five times. We ended up getting the car for just a few hundred over invoice, and it went so smoothly I am still wondering if I offered too much. Cityside is selling the most Subarus in the area for a reason - I say check them out even if they are not the closest dealer to where you live. More
