Having researched several makes and models before settling on Toyota, I decided to visit several dealerships in the tri-state area over the past month. Of course, inventory availability and price were immediate concerns and I must say I was pleasantly surprised that this dealership surpassed all expectations when my husband and I sat down to compare notes from our visits to some of the best dealerships in Fairfield, Westchester and Bergen Counties. In particular, our salesperson Sebastian Alverius, was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him. His easy going, personal style and knowledge of the brand has solidified a working relationship with our family for years to come. My rating is based on the level of professionalism I received for a transaction of this size. More
I went to this dealership with my great aunt because she wanted to trade in her Toyota Camry 2009 that she was financing(with 42 months of payments at 14% interest remaining) for a newer car with cheaper pa wanted to trade in her Toyota Camry 2009 that she was financing(with 42 months of payments at 14% interest remaining) for a newer car with cheaper payments. My aunt had a few stumbling blocks... she didn't have a down payment and she went bankrupt in 2005. Not only was Sebastian able to lower her payments by $100, he also got her brand new 2011 Toyota Camry(which is exactly what she wanted) at 0% interest for 60 months. They also gave her a 5 year warranty and a 5 year maintenance plan and let her take the car for a test drive. We arrived at the dealership at 11:30am and left around 6pm. It was a long process but Sebastian was friendly, funny, personable and extremely patient (especially with my very hard to satisfy grandmother who also came along). I did not feel like he was trying to swindle us or cheat us. We walked out with a great deal, a new, car, and more room in my aunt's monthly budget! Oh yea, Sebastian bought my grandmother, aunt, and I bottles of water with his own money from the vending machine when he could of just offered us a cup of water from their water machine... That's good customer service. I highly recommend Sebastian and City World Motor's. In fact, I am going back tomorrow with my mother to see if we can get her a great deal. She will be trading in her Toyota Sienna... We'll see how it goes but I have great faith in Sebastian. He knows he has to top or meet the deal he gave my aunt! More
My husband and I were car shopping and wanted to know more about the Prius. Sebastian followed up non-intrusively and was very quick to respond to email questions I had that weren't covered during our personal meeting. Additionally, when I had further questions about the different types of Prius, he sent me a very detailled email so that I fully understood what was offered. He even recommended a lower-level model based on what I described as our needs. Ultimately, we've decided to keep our old car for another year or so, but the Prius is on the top of our shopping list when the need arises. We'll definitely be seeing Sebastian then. More
I went in for some light body work, hoping to have all original parts and matching paint. I was always treated well BUT there was a significant failure to communicate timelines to me and in the end the jo original parts and matching paint. Specifically I needed a new cover for my driver's side mirror. I was told I would need to replace the entire part despite the current mirror working well. When I retreived my car, a full day later than promised and without any call from the service dept to let me know of a delay, the mirror was replaced but IT STILL HAD NO COVER! I was told then that the cover was not requested and would now cost me extra. No offers to order it for me or even put it on at cost. THAT COVER WAS THE ONLY REASON I CAME IN! My bumper was properly repaired as was a dent in my roof, but this mirror issue was beyond shady as it cost almost $300 and only working parts were replaced, still no cover. When I asked for a customer survey I was told it would be sent to me and I have not received it for over 3 months. I requested a survey on three occasions sincve the debacle repair with no reply. This could be the case of one employee or a larger issue at the site. I am not recommending the dealership for service. More
The experience I had with this dealer was overall Terrible. After dealing with Devon which by the way did everything he could to get me the payments to where I needed them to be at. As far as the other people at the dealer which you see after the sales guy including the sales mgr is very poor. Miriam (Customer Relations Manager) has no CS skills whatsoever. She is the least personable person. Nelson (Finance Manager) Explained the paper work to an extent. I asked questions and ultimately the answers were not entirely explained. when I got home I realized they gave me a car with lojack and i was never notified and charged and extra thousand dollars for it. Kyle (Sales Manager) agree to give me the monthly payments I was comfortable with until we stepped into the finance office which he acted like he couldn't do anything to stop the increase. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER More
I was in the market for a car but I did not want to buy a new one because I thought at the time I could not afford one. I was looking to get a certified used one so I began to do research, lots of research o new one because I thought at the time I could not afford one. Everything from choosing the right model, gas efficiency, reliability, and of course, getting a good deal. But that last one was a sticking point, getting a good deal because it seemed as if everything that I had did research on had to do with getting a good deal and that meant dealing with a car dealer. Almost every dealer I had read up on in my area was either a scammer, liar, or a thief, or all combined. Don't get me wrong, they had some good people working these dealerships but I guess that came from working with the bad ones. From what I read they were in a hurry to sell you a car as quickly as possible and have you walk out of the dealership with the highest payment possible. At one point I even Googled this as a search: ARE THERE ANY HONEST CAR DEALERS IN THE NEW YORK CITY AREA? The search became frustrating. I stayed up long nights, up until 1 to 2 AM scouring the net, reading reviews, printing reviews, reading about models, and finding out every little dirty secret that the car dealers has. Everything from not giving back deposits, Oh by the way, never leave a deposit, why should you leave a deposit on vehicle you intend to take the same day? At any rate, it was a frustrating search, sometimes enjoyable but yet challenging so I stayed with it. I even visited a Honda dealership just to see if this were true and sure enough they tried to lie about the price so I left and never went back. But one day, a Sunday, I told one of friends in church that I was in the market for a set of wheels. He said he knew a guy who knew this guy down at City World Toyota. He said he was a great guy who not try to pull nothing over on me. He Also assured me that he has a friend who bought a car from the same guy and he treated him very good. I told to talk to him so he did. The next day, Monday, I got a call from this guy named Michael Scharf. He told me that my friend told him about me and to come down to the dealership and he would talk with me about what it was I was looking for in car. At first I was nervous because of what I read about most dealers but it was my friend that recommended this guy to me so I told him I would come there after work. Upon arriving, Micheal mad me feel very comfortable, he did not rush me at all, he even said if I wanted to I could talk things over with my wife and come back the next day if I wanted to. I told him that I was in the market for a certified used car because I could not afford new one. My first choice was a Honda CRV, then a Toyota RAV4 but the RAV4 had the spoiler on the back, looked better than the rectangular box back CRV and had good gas mileage. He asked me what I wanted to spend and I told him no more than about $300 to $350 a month. He said that he could get me something brand new in that range on lease to own depending on my credit. He said I am not here to lie to you or get over on you. He said the call was mines to make. I was still nervous because this was my first car so I asked him can you assure me that I will not get a better deal anywhere else, he replied, "You will not get a better deal than the one I am about to give you now." I said grant me some time to think so I got up and walked away for about a few minutes, I came back to him and said "Make it happen." He ran my credit, I have excellent credit by the way, and he told me to pick the color RAV4 I wanted, I got black and man is it sweet. I got to the dealership about 5:45pm. About 8:30pm I was handed the keys to brand new 2011 Toyota RAV4, My payments are right in the range I was looking to pay. Micheal even gave me full tank of gas but when I got the vehicle it had half of tank in it. I called him up the next day he said come in and I will fill it up for you and he did. The even rinsed the pollen off my car for me. He even called to ask how the vehicle was treating me. It was a sales experience I will never forget. More

I bought a nearly new Toyota Tacoma. When I brought it home I realized that the rear headrests were missing. This is obviously a huge safety hazard for anyone sitting n those seats. I contacted the dealership and they said they would get back to me. They did not. I spent hours, no exaggeration, being shuffled from one person to the next without an answer. I contacted Toyota corporate and they assured me that the headrests should be in he car and that they should be covered by the warranty. They contacted the dealership and got a name and number for me to call. When I tried that number the person refused to come to the phone. I showed up at their service department to find out get the headrests replaced. The manager there promised he would handle it then refused to answer the phone for the next three weeks. They sold me a product with an obvious safety hazard and refused to take care of it afterwards. I have had no mechanical difficulties with the car but that of course is a credit to Toyota and not the dealership. More
