First of, My name is Marcia Romain. On the 16th of August 2023, I went to City World Hyundai in the Bronx to purchase a 2021 Hyundai Kona. This is my first car and I was excited to make On the 16th of August 2023, I went to City World Hyundai in the Bronx to purchase a 2021 Hyundai Kona. This is my first car and I was excited to make the purchase. My sales agent was Jose Dilone. He promised to take care of me and make the process a smooth one. Since this is my first vehicle, I did not have prior insurance. Jose said that he will take care of it and proceeded to speak to an Insurance Broker. He sent all my information to that said broker who I later on found out his name (still not sure if this is his real name) to be Yousef. Jose gave Yousef my number who then called me and Geico Insurance was decided upon. Yousef said that I had to pay $1411 to get the Insurance started and it will be $415 every month for 6 months. He asked that I Zelle him the payments which I did (I have proof). When that was done and confirmed by Jose, he sent me to speak to Peter Back (Finance Manager) where the final step in purchasing was done. The insurance was to start on the 08/17/23 so I left the dealership without the car. Jose delivered the car the next day to me. On 09/13/23, Geico sent me a letter saying that my insurance will be cancelled on 10/04/23 because the credit card used to pay my policy was disputed by the credit card company. That same day I went to the dealership to find out some information about my payments and I spoke to Jose and Mykael Manon (Finance Manager). I informed them of the insurance issue and they promised to fix it. From since that day, I have been getting the runaround from these people. The Yousef guy is refusing to answer his phone and Geico now says that I owe the over $1900. The last day I went to the dealership is last Friday 6th October 2023 (my daughters birthday) to sort out this mess. Mykael said he will assist me and passed me on to Carlos who took my information (for the 100th time) and promised to call me and DID NOT CALL ME. Today is October 10th 2023, I am left with 2021 Hyundai Kona that is partially financed (Still have to make the monthly payments), is UNINSURED, Meanwhile the DMV is charging me everyday I do not have insurance plus a lot of other senarios that can play out. I still do not have my money ($1826) which I payed to "Yousef". When I visited City world Hyundai on the fateful day in August, I had no idea that I will be scammed out of over a thousand dollars. Now Everyone at the dealership is claiming that they do not know who "Yousef" is. THEY CLAIM THEY DON'T SELL INSURANCE!!! BUT YOUR CAR SALESMAN JOSE DILONE REFERED HIM TO ME WHILE I WAS STILL SITTING IN YOUR DEALERSHIP!!!! NO BODY AT THE DELEARSHIP CARES IF I GET MY MONEY BACK OR NOT!!! NOBODY AT THE DEALERSHIP CARES WHETHER I HAVE INSURANCE OR NOT!!! NOBODY AT THE DEALERSHIP CARES THAT I HAD TO DISSAPOINT MY 7YEAR OLD DAUGHTER ON HER BIRTHDAY!!!! This is my story of how dishonesty has a domino effect of the lives of innocent and vulnerable people. The people at City world Hyundai should know that I Marcia Carmel Romain is not a pushover and I will continue telling my story until someone listens and I get my $1826 back. We will soon be ready to replace our second car, and Yadel at City World Hyundai will be the first person we contact. Buying a car can be one of the most frustrating and difficult experiences. You never know who to trust or if you are getting the truth. In fact, before I met Yadel, I had nearly closed a deal on a new car, only to find that the double talk the sales people were doing was about to cost me way more than promised. I walked away and went to Yadel. Thank goodness I did. I could not be happier with the experience I had with him and the help he provided. More
We knew exactly which car we wanted and we contacted Yadel for information on the availability He said he didn't have the exact one but would happily search for the specific model and color. About an hour later he called to ask "when would you like it delivered" for he had orchestrated a deal with another dealer many miles away. All of the paper work was easily done online and Yadel arranged for an associate to deliver the new Kona to our house the very next day and they even stayed to walk us through all of the car's features.
