Friendly service, good troubleshooting, open and honest advice. I have nothing but great things to say about the people at The Autobarn in Evanston. I was referred by a friend of mine to change my maintenance from Jennings VW to The Autobarn in Evanston, since I live e at The Autobarn in Evanston. I was referred by a friend of mine to change my maintenance from Jennings VW to The Autobarn in Evanston, since I live equidistant from both dealerships. The quality of work and the service definitely exceeded my expectations. They replaced a bulb for FREE and my car was returned to me super clean. My interactions with staff has been wonderful (go see Richard Kirkpatrick-seriously, I'm demanding you!). I feel like they care about me as a customer, not just a sale. I work in a retail environment where customer service is considered the most important thing, so I seek out great customer service, and am rather unforgiving for bad service. They offer something called DriveSure, which is a fantastic maintenance program, which pays for itself in the long run. I know eventually I will want to buy a new VW, and when I do, I will purchase it from the Autobarn in Evanston. More

I am so pissed that I traded in my 2010 Camry to this place that didn't deserve my business or my car. I traded my old car in for a 2007 BMW 525i which I'm starting to believe is a lemon in my eyes. The place that didn't deserve my business or my car. I traded my old car in for a 2007 BMW 525i which I'm starting to believe is a lemon in my eyes. They gave me 12,000.00 for my trade in and financed me through a company called Ludlow which is another 1 star review. Before closing the deal I was promised that the cracked windshield and the brakes would be fixed. When I took the car for the repairs they then refused to fix both and only fixed the brakes. I didn't have any problems out of the car until one day it just stopped. I had it towed there for 3 days they finally called me and informed me the car first needed a battery in order to do the diagnostic. My father took the battery to them. In the mean time I asked for a loaner vehicle, they informed they didn't have any. I called an checked on the status of my car and asked if they would give me the common courtesy and follow up with me instead of me calling them just to have a peace of mind, that didn't happen. They finally informed me the car needed a new starter, luckily it went through my warranty. They began the work on the car, on about the 2 1/2 week mark. I called and let the know I really needed a loaner car, I had used all of my vacation days and my HR office patient was running low. They informed me that I could rent a car but it was at my own cost. finally they called me a couple of days later and informed me that my car would be done later on in the day or the next day. I received a call from my job that day informing me that if I didn't show up to work the next day I wouldn't have a job. I called the autobarn literally in tears begging for a loaner car. I the asked about the coupon online they were offering to anyone who auto repairs over 250.00 they would rent you a car complimentary for 1 day. The manager then went online. I couldn't believe that was never offered to me. Unfortunately I didn't have a credit card to rent a car. My car was not ready that evening and I lost my job it took a year to find. I picked my car up ecstatic to have back, but by the time I got home I was concerned. My car was jumping, making noises, and not driving the same. 3 days later I drove south. I was a light at a busy intersection and got a malfunction notice on the information screen in my car, meantime my steering wheel gave out. MY CAR STOPPED....AGAIN!! I had my car towed to the BMW dealer and immediately called Auto Barn. The manager was defensive, rude, and argumentative. Once again I asked for a loaner....guess what..NO LOANER CARS. Even though this was the day they said loaners should be available. But in the managers defense they don't have to give loaners out. HUH...I am so angry at myself for going to this place. They do not try and help all they can do is tell you what they cant do and how much it will cost. More

It has always been a GOOD experience getting service at Autobarn of Evanston and even better when I get Elaina Adeniyi as my service advisor. I have never had a bad experience with any service personnel bu Autobarn of Evanston and even better when I get Elaina Adeniyi as my service advisor. I have never had a bad experience with any service personnel but she is outstanding. She goes the extra mile to make it as pleasant as possible. I have been a customer of Autobarn for several years and have always found the service staff and mechanics to be first rate. i own a GTI and a Touareg TDI. Jason is always willing to go the extra mile to ge have always found the service staff and mechanics to be first rate. i own a GTI and a Touareg TDI. Jason is always willing to go the extra mile to get things right- especially when it is a difficult issue. i had some problems with the turbos on the touareg and they went to bat for me and covered everything with VW. it was a complex problem that took time to diagnose. Marrat took the time to fix it correctly and completely while keeping me informed during the process. They even texted me regarding the updates on my car while it was in process. if you want a dealer that you can trust- yes hard to believe- call Autobarn VW in Evanston. i would highly recommend the dealership. I've owned many high end european brands and the best service i have gotten is from Autobarn in Evanston More
