Damaged new car, re-painted car without my permission, rude! One Star is the lowest rating I can give them and yet they deserve much less. Service tech backed my new 2019 Jetta into another car and damaged bumper. Took them 1 month to repair bumper. Noticed other paint issues. When dropping off the car, Adam (service manager) at Autobarn Evanston and I specifically discussed that he was to try to have the irregular paint area on the quarter panel addressed via buffing; he was explicitly told not to go through the clear coat and/or repaint. They had the car for another ~3weeks and what did they do? They repainted the quarter panel, without my consent. As with the shotty bumper repairs they had done previously, the quarter panel repaint that they did without my permission, included paint on window gasket, buffer burn on edge and a poor paint job. When trying to pick up my car, I requested detailed written documentation of what work they actually did and the service agent refused to provide it. He demanded that I sign a very light on detail service report. When I wrote a true statement on that receipt, stating VW Autobarn Evanston had my car repainted without my permission, the service guy [Brandon] told me he would not let me leave with my car, I would have to walk home and he shredded the paperwork. I wrote a true statement, that VW Autobarn Evanston repainted my car without my permission. The service tech apparently did not like the truth. Then, Brandon called me an "xxxxxxx". He called me an "xxxxxxx" because I requested detailed documentation of what exactly was done to my car and for stating the truth in writing that they repainted my new car without my permission. Mind you, that up to this point, I did not raise my voice, I did not act in any way irrationally or conducted myself in any way that could be considered as an "xxxxxxx". Be warned to stay far away from this dealership! I am paying full price on a lease for a "new" car that I have barely had in my possession to drive and they damaged repeatedly. Also, note that sales Manager Vic Jalili talks a great game about if there are any issues, he'll be there for you. Then when you call, he doesn't pick up, leave a voice mail, he doesn't call you back, you email him and you get an "unread" notice that he didn't read your email. This dealership is an unnessessary headache that you do not need in your life! Based on my experience, my recommendation is that you do not do any business with the VW Autobarn Evanston dealership! More
Worse experience. Stay away to avoid aggravation. Took a brand new car for a service. When the appointment was made, they said it would take an hour,but then came back Stay away to avoid aggravation. They will not answer your calls and if by any luck you get through, it will be a voicemail that will remain unanswered. It took a week of aggravation to get the car out of their hands. More

All the service reps (including the manager) have been professional, pleasant, efficient, and able to deliver what I want in a time and cost-efficient way. My Jetta lease will be up next June and I am really considering staying with Autobarn because of their outstanding service department.
