Oil change The service is good at the Evanston Autobarn and the workers are very friendly but most of the time when I bring in my car for an oil change I leave p The service is good at the Evanston Autobarn and the workers are very friendly but most of the time when I bring in my car for an oil change I leave paying 500.00 to 1000.00 dollars for other thing. Which makes me question where or not to bring my car into the dealer for oil changes. Jiffy lube might be a better choice. More

He also went to the trouble of trying to fix the ventilation system that left a horrid cigar smell in the office and waiting area. Yuck! It was overpowering. Did Autobarn allow a customer to smoke? If so, why? If not, how did powerful cigar odor permeate the customer areas? More

Cash grab and outrageous quote for work I did not request I purchased a used VW Tiguan. The dealership I bought it from did not check or include the wheel lock key so I had to go to the dealership to either p I purchased a used VW Tiguan. The dealership I bought it from did not check or include the wheel lock key so I had to go to the dealership to either purchase a key or have the locks removed. Since VW doesn't sell older keys, I had to have the locks removed. To have the locks removed and to put replacement lug nuts was $70. Seems excessive, but inline with dealership visits. Because my VW had a brake indicator light on, they said, "we noticed the light we looked into that". I said that is not necessary, just remove the locks. They insisted to check into the light. They came back with a cost of over $700 to replace the brake harness. I left and went and got two other quotes from recommended mechanics and both came back under $300 for the work. So you can guess where I won't go to get work done on my VW. More

He had all the pertinent data, including the 2 service recalls, we agreed to a more convenient time to do that work, After completing the paperwork, he came out and inspected the car after it had gone through the car wash. (The owner, me, had parked the Tiguan on the street and was covered with tiny maple seeds) Brayner sent the car through the car wash a second time and then grabbed a chamois to wipe down the car. Service with a personal touch. Look forward to dealing with him in the future. More
