Our engine quit on us and the timeline that was given to us from the day our car was towed to the dealership to when the engine was replaced did not match up. Originally was told approval from warranty take us from the day our car was towed to the dealership to when the engine was replaced did not match up. Originally was told approval from warranty takes 24-48 hours, but it took 19 days (14 not including the weekends). once approved the new engine would be ordered (engine cannot be ordered until approved) and the new engine arrives 1 week from date ordered & would take at least half a month to change out the engine). but miraculously less than 24 hours from approval, a new engine is available and then less than 48 hours engine replacement is complete. Timeline doesn’t add up. In the 22 days of our car being at the dealership never did they mention we could incur charges for parts & labor. We were led to believe everything was covered under warranty. The day we were told the engine was replaced & can pick up the car, however, they don’t recommend the car be driven because the check engine light was on due to a new intake hose & O2 sensor were needed. They didn’t have any in stock & would need to order the hose. It wouldn't be in until after the holiday weekend. Also, within a few hours from receiving the quote for the parts & labor, we were told while on a phone call, the price of the hose went up. Upon approval of the engine to be replaced, a rental car was given, but they would not cover the days from when the new engine was installed to when the new hose arrived & replaced. After dissatisfaction & frustration were expressed, they agreed to cover the rental. On the way to the dealership to pick up our car, an invoice was sent via text for a different amount (more) than was originally given. Also, when I went to return the rental car, the rental company told me Kia only covered 1 additional day, instead of 3 & i would have to pay out of pocket. After some time, the rental company finally got approval from City Kia to extend for 3 full days (time covered while waiting for intake hose to come in & get replaced). This whole process became a nightmare & could have been prevented if the dealership was upfront in the their communication. Would definitely NOT recommend for service or warranty work. More
