Pathetic Service Experience I bought a Camaro from rock chevy 4 months back. The car has been making some weird noises, took it back to them , they were like yes we heard the noises , we will make it right. I get the car after a week. Exact same crancky noises which have got even worse now. The buying experience was a mess and now the service experience is pathetic. A NEW Camaro and I am already regretting choosing rock chevy. WHos going to compensate for the troubles and wastage of time and mental torture i am going through for putting all my money in a car that they themselves cannot repair. I will mostly complain with the state attorney general and Chevrolet. More
Best car buying experience I've had. Rock Chevrolet was by far the best car buying experience I've had. I bought a new 2016 Chevy Sonic LS with a manual transmission. This was a difficult Rock Chevrolet was by far the best car buying experience I've had. I bought a new 2016 Chevy Sonic LS with a manual transmission. This was a difficult model to locate but the salesman I worked with, John Pondell, worked overtime to find the car for me. The sales manager, Edward, worked with me to find a price that was EXTREMELY affordable for my budget. They did not try to put me into something more expensive, they did not offer extra options more than once, and at no point was I being swindled. The employees at Rock Chevrolet treated me with respect. The paperwork was completed efficiently. The experience was completely positive. When the car was located, John did everything in his power to keep the miles on my new vehicle as low as possible. He kept me informed about where the car came from, how many miles it started with, and how many it would have when I got there. He always got back to me the same day I called. After the transaction had been completed, he stayed after he was supposed to go home to take me through all the technical info for the new car. He helped me set up OnStar and the Bluetooth features. I never felt pressured. The staff was always transparent about their offers. They gave me more than Raymond Chevrolet or Libertyville Chevrolet on my trade-in. While Rock Chevrolet is still a business, they put me before their bottom lines and personal comfort. I couldn't ask for more. More
Shady service all around I used to love the customer service when bringing in my truck for repair. Just recently brought my 2007 suburban that had a rear suspension sagging issue, dropped it off on a Thursday night after making an appointment with a note (given with keys in night drop box) indicating the springs are probably the cause. Not only did they say technician left early on Friday and couldn't get to it, they stated that the technician said " this is one of the better suspensions out there and nothing is wrong with it" but tried selling us the CKP sensor for some astronomical up-priced number. I told the service writer, Sia(SP?, also has terrible phone etiquette... sounds like he's eating the phone too), to go look at it. It is clearly visible that the rear hangs 4-5" lower than front end. So service writer told the technician to look at the truck and try to explain that. Then they proceeded to tell me that wiring for the compressor connector was rotted out, fine... gave ok to fix that $200+. Then they called back to say now the control module was bad $600+. All in the meantime, Lauren from the loan department calls my in laws to try to sell us a new suburban and trade in the 07. Mind you I already own a 2015 suburban as well. Yes, my husband and father-in law have the same name but WE gave OUR number numerous times to the service writer. Then I gave them a warning saying I do not want to just throw parts at it since this incompetent technician clearly doesn't know how to diagnose vehicles. Sia, service writer, promised that they wouldn't let me down. Well, well, well, they called back and now claim that the air compressor is bad $700+. At this point I am fuming mad, I had it!!! We called a repair shop in Gages Lake, and not only did they pick up the car for us, they DIAGNOSED PROPERLY! Turns out control module was not bad, because the air line was separated at a connector that runs from the rear suspension air pump to the right rear shock.. The air pump could not build up pressure due to the open line so it deactivated the pump that's why the air pump wasn't working. So I just got off the phone with ,Sia, service writer told him all this to share with the technician so maybe he can learn from his mistakes. Not only does he shake me off the phone rudely, won't even listen, doubt he will share with incompetent technician. This service at ROCK CHEVY is CRAP and I hope no one will go to them for honest service. All they care about is their commission! I spoke to Dan the service manager who knocked off a whopping $60 off of my $1,008 bill, not impressed and definitely lost my business and I will continue to spread the word! He also said it sounds like an administrative error for my unpleasant experience. Ha! Not my fault your service writer doesn't know how to read and transfer information! WE filled out the note with ALL of our information, give me a break you scam artist! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! DO NOT GO HERE!!! *** update, Mr Epstein one of the managers there called me on Friday evening wanting to talk about my "unpleasant experience". I called back Saturday & Monday just to receive his voicemail. This place is a joke, find a reputable repair facility. Repair shop in Gages Lake had truck done Monday afternoon and price was very reasonable! Also happy to say that the air compressor was NOT bad! They replaced the springs and truck sits level. Surprise!!!! More

The actual price is much higher than the advertised price. Basically, bate and switch tactic. In my case the actual price was $8,000 more than what was advertised on there web site. This happened on 2 trucks, one used and one new. Just don't waste your time if you are expecting to pay their discounted advertised price. More

Total lack of custumer service Stay away from Rock Chevrolet! If you are looking for service for you car that would give you peace of mind, think again and stay away from the Rock C Stay away from Rock Chevrolet! If you are looking for service for you car that would give you peace of mind, think again and stay away from the Rock Chevrolet dealer in Grayslake! After receiving a recall notification and having a three way conversation with a Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center's representative and dealer representative, it was agreed upon that my car would be taken to the dealer for servicing the recall. Next day the dealer representative dismissed the "important safety recall" letter, generated by GM Global Vehicle Safety and signed his Vice President by Jeffrey M Boyler, in which my car with its VIN was identified in the "safety belt cable sleeve inspection procedure recall 15031", disregarding my safety and the safety of my Family, while stating that my car was not included in the recall in spite of the letter identifying it and the visual evidence of the damage as indicated in the letter from GM. You start to wonder if a dealer refuse to honor a manufacturer recall signed by the company Vice President, just how serious they take servicing your car. If that wasn't enough, he denied being a part of the three-way conversation just 2 days ago with me and the GM representative, the same Chevrolet dealer! and claimed that there was nothing wrong with my car. I open the driver's seat, and the damage to the seatbelt equipment, the reason for the recall, is clearly there. Nice. Last advise I received from dealer reprentative Mr. A: 'There is nothing I can do you! But if you file a claim you might make it easier for me'. I guess my need of being able to drive my car is secondary to the dealer staff needs At this time I am in a limbo "I am instructed by the recall letter not to drive" my car and request assistance from the dealer for it. On the other hand the dealer refuses to address it. Good for Chevrolet that I continue paying for a car that according to them I should not drive. Bad for costumers like me that, despite abiding to their instructions/directions, I can't use a car that I am still paying for! I almost forgot. When they gave me back the car, they also handed me a false report on the car itself. The report said all my tires were filled at 35. I turn on my car, and my tire pressure displays says my tires are at 35, 21, 23 and 27. If they're lying about my tires, what else could they be lying about. Good grief, guys. More
