Dealer to Perform Recall Repair I have bought other cars at this dealer but good service is no longer present. I have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata that is part of Hyundai Recall 162, NHTSA I have bought other cars at this dealer but good service is no longer present. I have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata that is part of Hyundai Recall 162, NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 17V226000. The recall is for the engine which can seize at any time. . Machining errors during the engine manufacturing process may cause premature bearing wear within the engine. Consequence: Bearing wear may result in the engine seizing, increasing the risk of a crash. Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the engine, replacing the engine short block, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 19, 2017. I have repeatedly called the dealer but am told there is nothing he can do about it! Since this post I have been contacted by the dealer and was informed all the parts are now in stock. I will be dropping off my car tonight (6/20/2017) for the repair. I will also be given a loaner car while the repair takes place. More
