Received a notice from GM that driver side air bags were available for recall replacement. I am new to this area so called this dealership to schedule an appointment to have the air bag replaced. At the t available for recall replacement. I am new to this area so called this dealership to schedule an appointment to have the air bag replaced. At the time of scheduling, I was told that the dealership had the parts to do the repair, so an appointment was scheduled. When I arrived, I was greeted professionally, however things quickly turned sour when, after waiting in the waiting room for 15 minutes, I was told they did not have the parts and I'd have to come back. Of course I was frustrated and asked various folks why this happened and what process changes were going to be made to improve this situation. I really only got excuses, with statements to the effect..."we don't schedule these appointments"; "this never happens"; "the parts must have been used on another vehicle". I really didn't want excuses, I wanted someone to take responsibility. Why didn't I get a call before I came to my appointment if this was the case? A manager did finally come out to discuss, and he didn't really comfort me. He did say he'd personally call me when the parts came in. Which is fine, but doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy that the next time I come in, the parts will be there. Not a positive first impression. More
