If you are a women bring a car for service please expect to be treated like you are not a person, whether on the phone or in person. They talk down to you like "listen lady this is how it is" very professional! Or give you the wrong easy pass and try to blame you for there mistake. These are just a few issues. If you are a women with a child oh forget it! I had the service attendant standing behind me and the whole dealership watch as I struggled with my childs stroller and the convertible car set! If I didn't hit the panic button on my car I wouldn't have known where it was, as i walked with my stroller and car seat with not one person asked do you need help. The unprofessionalism, tone, actions and out right disrespect make me disgusted that I ever did business with this dealership and they should be ashamed from management to service personnel. More

Got exactly what I wanted at a price I could afford There are only 2 kinds of car dealership reviews on the internet, fairy tales and horror stories. Mine's a fairytale. I wanted a Ram Rebel, I knew which options I wanted and did not want. I knew a lot about the truck and its features. I went to another dealership first- and as a younger man without gray hair I was more or less handed a pamphlet and sent out, being treated as un-serious. Sales rep(s) also knew little about the product, but were very courteous. I went to RT4, prattled on like a good millennial that's passionate about a topic. I talked to them about my options, got to test drive it, sit in it. Everyone who I dealt with was professional and courteous. They did not try to push me into anything I didn't want - in fact I went full insistent customer mode, and they found a vehicle with the options I wanted. If anything, being frank I'm a high energy person that goes full on "ARE WE THERE YET ARE WE THERE YET" 5 year old kicking the back of a chair mode when I'm waiting on a delivery time. Leo never blew me off, got angry or lost his cool. 2 weeks into owning it, my tailgate would not close - To blame: The adhesive failed on a bushing part in the bed lock. Somewhere a machine in michigan probably ran out of glue. A machine breaks down and the problem fell into the lap of the dealership. I got in touch with them, and my vehicle was seen after the service gate had technically closed, and looked at by an employee who was at the tailend of a long shift - they found my problem within 10minutes, got the tailgate closed. In speaking for my experience, I can say that the sales personnel were knowledgeable and patient, the service manager was a professional, and my experience was a good one. The only let down was a machine in Michigan. More
MANIPULATIVE - PROF. CROOKS - BAIT & SWITCH - LIARS - BUYER BEWARE!! Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram of Paramus NJ Route 4 proved themselves to be the epitome of the slime-ball stereotype that car sales BUYER BEWARE!! Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram of Paramus NJ Route 4 proved themselves to be the epitome of the slime-ball stereotype that car salesmen have earned. Salesmen that we as hardworking lay people have become so frightened of. At Chrysler of Paramus Rt 4, they dress nice, smile big, and promise you the world. All the while using every bait and switch, hard pressured, manipulative sales tactic to get into your pocket. They are darn good at it too. Its really sad because all I wanted to do was buy or lease my very own first Jeep. It should have been a happy experience. Instead I encountered a group of predators that manipulated me and then robbed me. I am not being dramatic. I'm just calling a spade, a spade. After doing some research on the Jeep Wrangler, I entered Paramus Route 4 Chrysler Jeep with the exact Jeep I wanted in mind. I was excited as it was my first time buying/leasing my own car. As fate would have it they had the exact car I asked for, or so they said. Apparently it was on another lot that they had to go and get. So in the meantime they insisted we agree on a deal. After quite some time of pulling teeth with the sales manager, Carlos, we finally came up with a lease payment that we both agreed on. At this point I started to become uncomfortable because I felt I was being treated as if I was less than and as if they were doing me a favor by me buying a car from them. I was later told by a manager that they were ready to kick me out!? So let me get this straight, I come to you ready and willing to buy your product and you want to kick me out??? The arrogance and ego that fills the atmosphere in that place is suffocating. It was at this time I suggested I wanted to leave to clean my current car, get money from my bank, and clear my head to make sure I wanted the deal. Then the pressure really started to pile on heavily. My salesman, Don Elhananov, did everything in his power to keep me from leaving until I put money down and signed a contract. I told him I have to get money from the bank in an attempt to “escape” but he insisted I can just put it on my credit card. I became more uncomfortable when I realized that I couldn't find my car keys. When I asked the salesman about them he shrugged me off by saying, “One of the service guys has them to do the appraisal on your trade in. Give me your credit card and I will put your down payment on that in the meantime.” Coincidently it took the exact time for me to pay my down payment and sign the contract until the appraiser gave me my keys back. I felt as if I was being held hostage. Despite my verbal refusal to sign anything or give money at that time, my salesman continued to insist and pressure me to sign and pay a down payment before I left. “This doesn't mean anything, it’s all preliminary”, he assured me. Being inexperienced at buying cars I trusted Paramus Route 4 Chrysler and it's employees and did as they asked. I left the dealer convincing myself to be optimistic about the shadiness I had encountered. After all I was getting the car I wanted I thought to myself. I drove to go get the remainder of the down payment and clean out my car. When I returned I was deeply disappointed to find that the car that was promised to me was not the car they had waiting for me. It did not have all the features we agreed on. All the wind was taken out of my sail. I was deeply unhappy. This was a deal breaker. Confused, tired, and discouraged I was at a lost of what to do. I honestly didn't know I had a choice to walk away since they already had my money and my mind was clouded at this point. They seem to know this and played it to their advantage. This is what they call bait and switch. I’ve seen other dealer reviews that accused this same dealership of committing this same deception. I wasn't even given a choice such as, "If you want we can refund your down payment until we find a car you like?" Or “Since we messed up lets build you the Jeep that we agreed on.” etc. Nope, instead I was coerced to choose from their lot. So I just went with the flow and did what they were telling me to do. Hours later I was sold another Jeep of lesser value and a lot less of a bargain. Incompetent to car buying and drained of energy by this point of the day I agreed to the deal. Little did I know at the time that I was getting a lot lesser value for my money, Once again I trusted the dealership to do right by me. In hindsight it was apparent to me that all they cared about was selling a car, any car, no matter what it took. It gets worse. At closing I was persuaded by the finance manager, Kareem Raposo, that financing the car rather than leasing would have "saved me a ton of money." Once again being inexperienced and trusting of the finance manager I took his word for it. This required me to put down a large sum of money. I know, dumb of me. I guess I have too much faith in mankind or in this case Chrysler of Paramus Route 4.. The moment I got home my gut was telling me this was a bad deal. A million questions raced through my head. I crunched #'s and found that it was not in my best interest whatsoever to purchase rather than lease. I was losing money in the long term and short term!!. I IMMEDIATELY (1 hour later) called the Paramus Chrysler Route 4 dealer and told Kareem of my concerns about the whole deal. He said not to worry we will talk about it on Monday. The day I bought the car was Saturday night. Monday comes and I go in only to be strong armed and re-persuaded into keeping the deal by Kareem. I tried to stand my ground and refused to accept the deal. He basically said "tough s***" but not in so many words. He told me the bank already has the loan and I was out of luck. This was an out right lie which I caught them in weeks later as I called the bank to check on my loan and they didn't even know who I was. They said they never received my loan yet. (More on that in a bit.) I repeatedly pleaded with the dealership that this was not what I wanted and is financially burdensome to me. I told them I am still willing to get a car from them but I just want to do the lease instead of the finance and/or the original deal that you promised me. Desperate at this point, I was willing to let go of the fact that they bait and switched a fully loaded car for a half loaded car. I explained to them that despite their financial "advice" I was losing money and I couldn't afford such a big down payment. They "claimed that there was nothing they can do." This was another lie. The contract even said that if the dealer wants they can rescind on the deal. They were ruthless and in-compassionate about what was in my best interest. Making the sale for as much profit as possible seemed to be there #1 agenda. After multiple trips and LONG hours in the waiting room they finally agreed to trade in my new Jeep and lease me another car that “I can build myselfl". They assured me that they would do so with minimal money lost through the transaction. So at this point I was going to lose some money but I rationalized that at least I will get the car I really want at the price I want. The top manager, Dean Redmond said, and I quote, “You have my word. I’m not going to screw you.” Once again, optimistic and trusting in the Route 4 Paramus Chrysler and Jeep I went along with their word. Once again, I was baited and switched. I had an appointment with the general manager, Dean Redmond, at which point he "forgot" and I wasted a whole day going into the showroom for nothing. The day finally came for me to work out my new deal. I was promised by Dean Redmond that I can build my own jeep and they would order it. This was a lie. Bait and switch. Because when it came down to it all they were willing to do was for me to pick out a Jeep that they already had on their lot. None of the ones on the lot fit my criteria and I was still getting less value. I was right back to square one. Yet again I was strong armed. "Either pick a Jeep or we have or no deal" was their response. Once again I was treated like I didn't matter and they were doing me a favor. Desperate to get my down payment back I tried to settle on the crap they had in stock. Now things really got interesting. So we started the process of us trying to find out how much the payoff was for my current Jeep that they just sold me weeks prior. The clueless salesman and I were rudely awakened to the fact that the bank, which they claimed had my loan, said they had no record of me or my loan. Please remember they already denied my repetitive and desperate pleads to stop the loan transaction so I can switch from a purchase to a lease or to a better valued deal. Their reason for denial was that the loan was already processed and submitted to the bank. But here we are 2.5 weeks later and the bank has no record of me or my loan. At this point I took all the manipulation, lies, and bulls*** I can take and confronted the whole management team. All the mangers looked pathetic as they came up with classless lies as to where my loan was and why they couldn't cancel it when I asked. It was clear no one had any clue on what to tell me and they all had a different story. The owner, Ron Jelling, was about to start helping me until he was abruptly shushed by a top level manager because he was about to expose their scheme in front of me. After that incident the owner refused to talk to me. I was disgusted by such inhumane and desperate action for the love of money and ego. Nobody was man enough to admit at least that they made a mistake and to right the problem. Let alone that their highway robbery tactic backfired on them. Caught redhanded in their deceit, they all stood there like a deer in headlights giving me 3 different excuses within 1 minutes time in a desperate attempt to save face. Whatever happened to common courtesy and decency? Whatever happened to doing the right thing? Whatever happened to an honest handshake? Whatever happened to being a normal human being? Whatever happened to "the customer is always right." No way! Not at Chrysler Doge Jeep & Ram of Route 4 in Paramus NJ. When you enter the show room you are entering a shark tank. It seems their ego has intimidated too many guppies and they have gotten away with highway robbery one too many times. Not this time. Their blatant scheming and manipulating was too much for me to walk away and stay quiet. Legal, press, and social media action will be administered. All I wanted to do was buy/lease a jeep. I actually entered the dealer with strong intention on not leaving without one. But somehow they found a way to totally screw up an easy sale. It’s like they don’t even know how to handle an honest person that just wants to buy a car. Their way of doing business seems to be so polluted that they don’t even speak the language of honesty. It’s like Chinese to them. Chrysler Doge Ram & Jeep of Paramus Route 4 are excellent at what they do: selling pipe dreams, manipulation, deceit, bait and switch, high pressured sales, getting you to sign on the dotted line, and taking your money. Unfortunately, honestly and fairly selling cars is not an area they seem to be competent in. The scary thing is , that these same people have parents, siblings, spouses, and kids. Yikes! Im glad Im not part of their family. Do yourself a favor and buy a Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge somewhere else besides Route 4 Paramus NJ. More

STEER CLEAR If you place no value on your time, and you like being told one thing before you sign the papers and then another afterwards, then get your next car h If you place no value on your time, and you like being told one thing before you sign the papers and then another afterwards, then get your next car here. But if you prefer a smooth process, and honest people, I would head to another dealer. It's the simple little things that make customers come back. Don't tell me you'll take care of getting my plates and send them to me, then sit on them until I call to ask why it's taking so long and then ask me if sending the plates to me was rolled into my deal. When has the $5 cost of mailing been something to negotiate. Now I'll need to drive out there and probably wait around another hour or two. I brought the car back 2 weeks after I got it because the seat memory wasn't working. You know it took them 4 hours to fix it and there was already a Jeep alert about exactly that problem and exactly how to easily fix it. Everything about this place takes forever to get done and comes across as shady as they nickel and dime you over minutiae. Drive past!! More
Worst Service Department Everytime I bring my Jeep in for service they have a different reason why my Jeep has the same symptoms. They are incompetent at diagnosing vehicles. NIGHTMARE!!!! I went to this dealer last summer to lease an suv from them. I signed the contract and went home with suv. Three days later they called me to come in I went to this dealer last summer to lease an suv from them. I signed the contract and went home with suv. Three days later they called me to come in and sign a new contract. When I went in it was a different contract then the original ( different terms). I refused to sign the new contract. I was told if I don't sign the new contract then I will loose my trade in vehicle and the new vehicle. Dean Redmond's exact words were "If you don't want to sign a new contract then get a lawyer" I ended up being forced to sign a new contract do to not having a vehicle. I also have audio recordings of the few meetings we had. Stay away from this place. Worst experience of my life. And Dean don't bother responding because all your responses are the same generic response. There's only so many people you can defraud before you run out of customers. More
