It started with his slovenly appearance and led to complete incompetence. I came in from out of town about an hour away. He did not have the work done to the car that he was supposed to, did not have copies of paperwork that I signed for me, and to this day, I still do not have paperwork for the purchase. He even picked the financing terms without consulting me. I had to make 3 trips back and forth from Syracuse because of his incompetence. The car shakes like crazy at 65mph and they would not let me have it looked at locally. George's manager was equally as bad. They do not understand customer service here and will likely be out of business soon or taken over. Terrible. Grade: F More

I wish I could give 0 stars. Found the used car I was looking for online at a good price. Made appointment and made it clear we had excellent credit, were familiar with the car, and fully intended to buy if the car was in expected shape. Was pleasantly surprised that the salesman I spoke with had the car pulled up and started for us when we arrived. Car had some dings, and paint down to metal (was a 2018 with 23K miles), some scuffs in the interior...no deal breakers, but definitely a couple of issues. Near worn tires, and couldn't get a read on remaining brake life. Car drove solid, tried to work out terms. They ADDED on $399 accessories fee, as well as others...wouldn't tell us the brake life/ tire tread (just, "we'll make sure it passes inspection before you take it,") told us they weren't discounting the car further or planning to repair the paint/ ding issues (which were not disclosed in their add) and tried to sell us 10% financing with 800 credit score. I told them I didn't like how they did business and left. They openly admitted they posted the car at quoted price to lure folks into the dealership with intention of up charging. Maybe someone should tell them that is an illegal practice. More
If you want honestly, Professionalism look elsewhere. They will add on extra warranty or road side baloney they offer without telling you. They will play with your mind, lie to your face over and over. T They will add on extra warranty or road side baloney they offer without telling you. They will play with your mind, lie to your face over and over. They lie so much that they start believing there own lies, really a sad thing to witness. If you planning to finance make sure you find a bank before you come here. They work with US bank and will give you the highest APR becouse they make commission from it. Here is the highlight of my experience. The salesman that sold me the car, drove the car I purchased to fuel it, came back with deep side scratches. Rushed to try and buff it up. that did not work so he blocked the car with his truck so I don't see it. I saw it. He nervously kept on denying it. The manager came out, after going back and forth, he agreed I go back to my home town and they will cover the scratches by buffing it out, they clearly knew would not work. You guys can take a guess what heppend after I tried calling them about it after getting quotes. I was very patient with them, and actually believed they will do the right thing. At least the security cameras at the gas station don't lie! More
Bought a 2018 ram 3500 dually not from carbone. I had a recall for a 2 cent rubber washer in the tailgate and a jam nut on the draglink installed. I picked up the truck and drove to my sisters and back hom recall for a 2 cent rubber washer in the tailgate and a jam nut on the draglink installed. I picked up the truck and drove to my sisters and back home that’s it, today I notice a huge 12” dent on the passenger side rear tire flair and a scraped passenger side mirror . It had battleship grey latex paint chips, the same exact shade as the lower half of their building and all there parking Bollards. I was wondering why they flipped my mirrors down now I know to cover it up. The service manager with his clean hands and shiny shoes told me it’s was not paint and was rubber so there’s no way they ran into any building. Called me a liar. Denied right from beginning. Never even asked the mechanic if he did it. Whats horrible is they got away with it. I really thought they where professionals. Next time I’ll just buy the part and install it myself. Had I read the reviews I would of never had the service done here. Certified crooks. Buyer beware!!! More
unprofesional My wife and I purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee on 11/11/19, First off when they financed us they went with their preferred bank with a rate of 5.8 My wife and I purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee on 11/11/19, First off when they financed us they went with their preferred bank with a rate of 5.8% and we found out the next day that we were instantly approved by another lender with a rate of 4.2% which is about $15 a month difference. 2nd, when we were there we asked if the car came with 2 keys and the salesman Eric Johnson told us yes, but we discovered that only 1 Fob worked and when I spoke to Adam who I believe is a sales manager he said that they only guarantee 1 working key with used vehicles, and we are responsible for getting the other fob that they gave us fixed. This Jeep has a push button start and a non working fob is useless. I didn't think I needed to test both keys before signing, I suppose I should also check to see if there is air in the spare tire. Between my son and I we were planning to lease 2 more Jeeps and purchase another in about 2 years, Looks like it won't be at Carbone's More

Worst Experience I have ever had at a Dealership. Legitimately the worst experience possible at a Car Dealership. The salesman makes his deal, I walk out the door, and several things have happened since. I have needed a few things since I left, and he has gone completely unresponsive. These guys are the most unprofessional, lazy sales people I have ever witnessed. Beyond ridiculous, once he had his deal he won't do a thing to help me. Something as simple as "can you send me this person's email?" or "I need copies of this paperwork." No response. He made his deal and he couldn't care less about anything from a customer service standpoint. More
THE worse car buying experience I've had in 30 years. On July 12th, I stopped in to view new Ram pickups. I settled on a red Ram. Went in to the dealership and went through the usual "what can we do to On July 12th, I stopped in to view new Ram pickups. I settled on a red Ram. Went in to the dealership and went through the usual "what can we do to get you into this vehicle today" stuff. Very high pressure, but we did reach a deal. They were prepping the vehicle and got it done, as I went out of the showroom and approached the vehicle to leave I noticed a mark in the driver's side passenger door, as I got closer, I noticed a very large chip (chunk of paint missing, right to the metal) and several significant scratches, I turned around and went inside and retrieved the salesman, my first instinct was to refuse the vehicle, after numerous assurances that they would fix the vehicle, I agreed. He advised me someone would contact me to bring it in. A week went by, no one contacted me, so I called him, he said he would find out what was going on. 3 more days passed, no contact, I went to the dealership, and he was there, I asked what was going on, he went in the back for 5 minutes, told me to bring it in Thursday. I brought it in Thursday, went to the service desk, no one knew anything about it. After explaining to several very rude people, I finally met a very courteous service writer, who listened to my story and made efforts to address what was wrong, he went out front and talked with sales and no one would agree to fixing it, I then went out front and asked for the sales manager, he agreed to get things rolling, I left the vehicle and received a call the next day, they will fix the chip ( not sure what kind of job they will do), but will not fix the scratches, once again, no assistance whatsoever from my salesman. I have yet to pick the vehicle up, because they had to order the paint (I was advised this was ordered the day I bought the vehicle). I also was only given one key fob at purchased and have been chasing after this as well. I have purchased many vehicles over the years and this is by far the worse I have ever been treated. Beware -- It's not the old Carbone dealership In case you didn't know, Lithia motors who owns more than 150 dealerships in 16 states and their business plan apparently is make more money any way In case you didn't know, Lithia motors who owns more than 150 dealerships in 16 states and their business plan apparently is make more money any way they can, has bought Carbone out. I noticed the last 3 times I have been there that there were a lot of new faces in the service area which suggests a high turnover rate. We have bought cars from and had them serviced at Carbones for many years and always had excellent service until the past 2-3 times. Their new policy is a "diagnosis" fee of $99 that will be refunded if you have the work done there. The first time I was there this year, the diagnosis did not even address the humming/whirring noise I took it in for, but they did supposedly find an unrelated problem, bad sway bar bushings -- Bad sway bar bushings make a banging or thump not a humming/whirring noise, but they did replace them for my $99.. A job I could have done 3 times over in the 4 hours I waited for the car, .at a cost of $10 -15 for the parts. The second (and last) time I was planning a trip and agreed to the $99 diagnosis fee because the transmission jerked and banged as it shifted -- a check engine light was on and I still had the humming/whirring noise. After 2 hours .with my car sitting in a bay and nobody looking at it, I inquired when it would be done so finally they started on it. An hour later, the service writer came and said there was nothing wrong with the transmission but I needed new brakes (front brakes had been replaced a few months ago) and struts and would I like to have them done, I said no and he said $99 please. I said what about the check engine light and noise?? He told me I didn't say anything about that and I said I certainly did and it was on my list. He said that will take another hour and I could wait or bring it back, I waited and after about an hour and a half he came back and said the check engine light was a bad gas tank cap and would be a $20 part ($15 at auto Zone). so I said put it on. He said nothing about the noise. He told the mechanic to put cap on and handed me my bill for $241.,00 I said What is this for?? $99 for checking the transmission, $99 for check engine light diagnosis and $35 for the $20 gas cap plus tax. (apparently never did road test for noise). Needless to say I started getting pretty hot and told them to put the old cap back on, he said they'ed already installed it and couldn't change it. I said wasn't paying $99 for the check engine light and noise along with the transmission check I had asked for in the beginning. He again said I hadn't asked for it and I pulled out the note I had made before I went in that morning to be sure I mentioned the 3 problems. He sort of stuttered when he saw that and I rather loudly demanded that he get the manager in here right now. He apparently didn't want to see the manager again because the manager was called for the 2 previous customers also, so he knocked off the second $99 diagnosis fee so my bill was $141. Well, I still have the whirring/humming noise, the transmission banging as it shifts and a $141 gas cap!! What they don't know is that and while waiting for them to service my car, in addition to checking out their new cars, I was out at their Nissan, and Hyundai dealerships next door also and that my wife and I have been saving her small pension for the past 11 years to buy a new car for mostly cash this year. We will buy that new car within the next couple months and I guarantee it will not be at any Carbones or any other Lithia dealership, as I'm sure the policy is the same company wide. They obviously don't have service managers anymore that will road test your vehicle with you if necessary and decide whether you may have a problem then suggest further diagnosis/repair,. now all they have is service salesmen that are required to sell, sell, sell, regardless if you need it or not. Our many years as Carbone customers is over, we will buy elsewhere and I would suggest you check out other , preferably locally owned dealers for your new or new to you car. Ahh, I feel better now.
