Baker Jeep is blanketed with CCTV. We have cameras everywhere. We have reviewed all the video and see nothing - repeat - nothing to substantiate your claim. If you had run over a screw or a bolt or some kind of car related part, that would at least be plausible. Where would you find a nail and splash shield as you describe on our lot? Our building is over 60 years old and made of concrete and brick. We have a flat roof. No nails. No splash shield. If you're going to invent a story at least make it believable. It's our contention that you got a flat tire somewhere else and devised this prevarication to extort a new tire from Baker Jeep. Did you bring the tire here to be plugged? Nope. You now feel that we're responsible for getting you a new tire, but yet had no problem taking the tire somewhere else and paying someone else to try fix it for you. Like the tire itself, no part of your story holds air.

We’re all scratching our heads over your comments, at no time during your sales process did any of us suspect that you were having such a cathartic experience. Baker Jeep takes great pride in the proper treatment of our customers. Across all of our social media platforms we enjoy nearly perfect ratings. Baker Jeep has been in business since 1967 and the salesman you maligned enjoys the highest percentage of repeat customers in the dealership. There are literally thousands of web sites and mountains of research materials available to the car buying public. Your concerns seem to center around your own misunderstandings or lack of preparation. Maybe you didn’t do enough research? For example, you find fault with your trade-in value. Your trade car was nice enough, but it was eleven years old and has a bad CarFax (having a bad CarFax report eliminates around 80% of the potential buyers and makes the car much harder to sell). You came to Baker to buy a vehicle and all we did was help you do so. You could have left before you signed even one paper, but you didn’t. As you most accurately stated, “Agreeing to the deal was, at the end of the day, ultimately my fault, my choice…” No one here forced you to do anything. This is not the 1970s and what you describe is not the way we do business. It’s quite possible that you mistook “salesmanship” for “pressure” and that now you are suffering through the worst case of “buyer’s remorse” we have seen in a very long time. With all the tools and information available to the savvy consumer today, with proper self-preparation, the concerns you express are mostly a thing of the past for the vast majority of people who buy an automobile in 2020. Hopefully you enjoy the driving part of your new Jeep more than the buying part…

Notice how they don't actually deny anything with this response. They don't deny that their website misleads about the actual price of the car. That they imply you can get all the rebates you qualify for when they actually make you choose between them. That they (yes, even Jim) push you into unnecessary add-ons. They don't deny that they told me the add-ons were mandatory for the deal and not optional when it turns out that wasn't true. They don't deny using deceit and strong-arm tactics. That the Sales Manager made up a guy in Florida and lied that my trade-in would be going there. For a car that's so difficult to sell you still have it posted it for $5,000 more than you paid me. So I guess it can't be THAT hard of a sell, huh? Another lie. They also don't deny telling me that the deal was off the table if I left to think about it. Or that they pushed me to not call my father because they were closing soon. Or that the new car they delivered had a door with chipped paint. You can call it "salesmanship" all you want, but people should know that what Baker calls "salesmanship" is actually lying, misleading, and pressuring you with strong-arm sales tactics. This entire response boils down to "sorry we suckered you, not our fault you fell for it." Is this really the dealership you want to buy from?
