Sexist Fixed Ops Director Lost my Business When my wife got upset over a $150 diagnostic fee that she was told she wouldn’t have to pay (they literally did nothing but tell us our BSM system di When my wife got upset over a $150 diagnostic fee that she was told she wouldn’t have to pay (they literally did nothing but tell us our BSM system didn’t work, which we already knew), the manager, Mark, told her to call her parents and ask them for the money. He repeatedly told her to do this in front of everyone in the lobby and even offered to call them himself (who does this guy think he is?!). When she started to cry for feeling humiliated, he told her she had to leave. She asked for her house keys (since they were holding our car hostage over $150) and he told her they would get them from her key chain. She waited a half hour an no keys came. Finally, a mechanic who noticed she was visibly upset asked her what was wrong. She explained and he returned with her keys in seconds. She then walked home in 100° heat. Later when I went to the dealer to pay (aka flush $150 down the drain for nothing) I asked Mark if he had told my wife to ask her parents for money. He said he did and didn’t see any issue with this. When I asked him if he would have asked me or another man to do the same thing, he had no answer. Further, he didn’t care at all that we felt we were being nickel and dimed over a ridiculous fee and when I told him that this silly argument over such a small amount of money was only going to make me take my business elsewhere, he said that was fine with him. Well done, Mark. I have serviced my car exclusively at Northside Toyota and would have continued doing so for years (and paid a lot more than $150). In fact, I probably would have bought my next car from them. But thanks to Mark, my next car will be a Honda. Good to see sexism is still alive and well at Northside Toyota. More

The mechanics always do a predictably competent job on my older car, so that it always sounds and drives smoothly when I leave! When I waited in the new luxery lounge area I had forgotten to take my book with me. The service person retrieved it for me! (Note: new Western Av at Peterson facility.) More
