Disatisfactory Service - Beware In summer 2013 I brought my Toyota 4 Runner in for service and repair of some damage to a rear passenger door. Repair was poorly done to door and tru In summer 2013 I brought my Toyota 4 Runner in for service and repair of some damage to a rear passenger door. Repair was poorly done to door and truck was returned (delivered to my house). Keys were left in the truck per instructions (i was no home). On inspection door repair was shoddy (gap in door panel) and door lock not operating. Repeated calls to Chicago Northside Toyota were not returned. I vowed not to return to the dealership. Just last week I received a post card from Chicago Northside Toyota Saying "let us win back your business". I called to get an estimate on 100,000 mile service and was told i needed to replace my "timing belt". I said that does not sound correct. Its a V6 4Runner and I was quite sure it has a timing chain. Was told repeatedly that "no, I needed to replace" it and its an $800 cost. I got off the phone called toyota directly and confirmed its a timing chain that does not require replacement. Just another example of the pressure and poor experience from this dealership. Beware and if able look at another area dealership to service your automobile. More
