Would not recommend anyone buy a car here I came in to buy a used Jaguar. The one I wanted was already in the process of being sold, so I was introduced to an almost identical one they had on their lot. Somewhere in our discussion, they mentioned it was rebuilt but I'm not sure where. They told me they would not let me test drive the vehicle unless I had the absolute intention of buying it. If it was a limited edition Rolls Royce perhaps I would understand - but a 10 year old Jaguar, was this necessary? With the rebuilt title the car is worth $1500. I paid $10,000. Of course, this is my fault, I could've turned them down at any time - but I was unaware of the extent a rebuilt title diminished a car's value. Thats not the only issue. See, never was I asked how I was intending to pay for the vehicle. I was going to pay cash. They went ahead and ran my credit without my permission. I decided to stick with the loan since they already ran my credit. A month later I get a call from the loan company telling me that they do not offer loans on rebuilt cars. Huh? How was I approved? After a year and many repairs with my Jag - I decided to call them and ask them how much they would buy the car back for. Their answer - $1500. When I reminded them how much I originally paid them, they simply laughed, and told me 'thats just how it is'. Typical rude and apathetic car dealer. Listen - you deserve better service and less pressure. Go to a dealer who will be straightforward, disclose a car's history, and ask before running your credit. More
Disorganized and less than profesional I'll try to keep it short. Was looking for a good car. Entered my criteria into cars.com and found a very nice looking 2009 Mercedes C300 for sale at Chicago Auto Place. Spoke with sales person over the phone and paid down payment to hold the car until I could get there on the weekend. Salesman and I had agreed on time when I would be there to make the deal. So I arrive at the showroom and see all these beautiful cars; Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Maserati, Corvette, even a beautiful Chevelle. I'm excited at this point. Looking forward to seeing my beautiful new used Mercedes. NOT THE CASE. When I arrived, the car was not ready. I asked salesman, "You knew I was coming today, right?". Salesman said, "Oh yes, we confirmed yesterday." We waited 45 minutes before the car was finally pulled up front for us to look at. It was filthy. I mean it looked like someone dumped a salt truck on the car and sprinkled water to make the worst spotty mess I've ever seen. So I asked, "Why isn't the car clean? You knew I was coming today, right?" Salesman said, "We can wash the car after you buy it." After I buy it? What the heck. Is this how you treat someone that drives from a state away to buy a car? We then took a test drive. I nearly drove through a stop sign as the brakes barely worked. I said to the salesman, "You told me that your mechanics had looked the car over and the only issue was oil leak." He didn't have much to say at that point. We went back inside the showroom, discussed a few things and ultimately I walked away empty handed. I don't like writing poor reviews, but as I was traveling back home, I became more and more upset about how poorly treated we were. I can't fault the salesman for it. I actually think he was a decent guy trying to do his job. I fault the management of Chicago Auto Place for running a disorganized business with poor customer experience. I feel they categorize people by how much money they are spending. I imagine that I would be treated like a king if I were buying a $50k to $100k vehicle, but if you are buying something for less than $10k, then they really don't care about you. More
Do not buy a vehicle from these guys. I bought a jeep grand cherokee in 2019 and these guys lied about its condition. I had to put almost 5000 in it to make it safe. Not only that but they would not even grand cherokee in 2019 and these guys lied about its condition. I had to put almost 5000 in it to make it safe. Not only that but they would not even respond to me after they got my money. I bought it online and had it delivered but the leadership of this place stinks and they have never contacted me after many attempts to contact them. I had to fix front wheel rear axle the radio the starter and water pump . Rating 1 to 10 I give them a 1. More

bring your lawyer These folks may as well hold guns on you as you buy, because they are crooks. I bought a Saab convertible from them. When we test-drove the car at C These folks may as well hold guns on you as you buy, because they are crooks. I bought a Saab convertible from them. When we test-drove the car at Chicago Auto Place, an indecipherable dashboard light was on. When we asked about it, our sales consultant told us that the light indicated only low tire pressure. Later, we learned that the light reflected engine trouble, not tire pressure. We bought the car, which came with a limited warranty. A couple days later, my son drove the car from Bensonville to Peoria, more lights came on. He pulled over, checked the oil, found it low, and added some more oil. He drove the car to a Saab service center, where the mechanic removed the engine pan and found piles of metal shavings. It was a totally destroyed engine. The mechanic told us that the shavings interfered with the circulation of oil, which would reveal the full problem only as the engine heated up. So a short test drive would not expose the problem. We towed the car back to Chicago Auto Place, to make sure there was no further damage. As we were well within the mileage and time parameters of our warranty, we assumed that the dealership would refund us for the car. At this point, we were not upset and were actually expecting to buy a different car from them. But the employee with whom we spoke told us that by adding oil on his own, and not taking the car to a mechanic to do so, my son had probably caused all the damage to the car. They refused to refund us for the lemon they sold us. We take this for a shamelessly irresponsible deception. But it gave us insight into the people we are dealing with. We had to get a lawyer to threaten to take them to court before they refunded us for the car. Never buy a car from these people. They are simply crooks. They knowingly sell lemons. And they won't refund you. More
