The asking price started at $5k over msrp. They did say that they would include free shipping at that price. It was still astronomically high. Over the period of a few days the negotiating con They did say that they would include free shipping at that price. It was still astronomically high. Over the period of a few days the negotiating continued, and the sales manager finally came to 2500 over msrp as his best offer. I agreed, but shortly thereafter found out that it no longer included shipping, so that was disappointing. All things done, the msrp was 38,150 and we landed at 40,350 with me paying shipping. I'm okay with that, as it's not easy to find a V8 manual camaro anywhere. So with that said, they were over msrp, but they were transparent about the numbers throughout the process. Many dealers aren't. When reviewing the paperwork for the lease they kept their word in terms of costs and residual value factors. Other dealers were cranking the end of lease residual and attempting to tack on miscellaneous fees which the Chevy Exchange did not. They arranged delivery at my expense, but for about half what my cost to ship it was. It also arrived in covered transport which was a bonus. The vehicle arrived with the miles described, as well as a full tank of fuel. Overall this was a positive experience, the main reason being that even though it was over msrp, it was fairly priced to the current market and they were transparent about all actual costs throughout the process. Thank you Chevy Exchange for doing the best you can given current inventory constraints. And thank you Michelle Rendall for dealing with my relentless negotiations and being polite, even in situations where I wasn't as polite as I should have been. More
