Can't get my plates for 9 months. I leased 2020 TLX Advance from Fred at Chevy Chase Acura back in March. I got a quote over the phone, did not negotiate it, just drove to pick it up. I asked to prepare all the paperwork before arrival but spend many hours in the dealership anyway. When my temporary registration expired, Fred told me that due to Covid, my permanent registration can be delayed and it is legal to drive with expired registration. The last reply email I receive from Fred was on June 9 after which he just stops responding. When I email his manager on Dec. 7th, someone else called me to explain that they are extremely busy, and the best way for me is to text Fred as he does not read his email and only replies to texts. I got another 2020 Acura MDX Advance from a different dealership in August and receive permanent registration/plates within a month. The Verdict - great car (I had more than 10 Acura's), ok initial sale, a very bad experience with dealership customer service. More

I test drove the car I was interested in and Frederyc Botera, who was very helpful in the process, printed out a bill of sales with the final price of the vehicle. After reviewing my options, I decided to finance the car through my bank and picked up the check the following day for the amount that was agreed upon. It's now time to sign all needed documentation and here is where everything goes downhill. After explaining to Frederyc that I chose to finance through my bank, he still demanded that I give him my social security number on a piece of paper headed Credit Application. After asking him why do they need to run my credit, he replies "under MD law, we need to run a background check" At this point, I'm frustrated because I know that a background check has nothing to do with this car sale. I refused once again and he then proceeded to get a finance manager to explain why my social was needed. After waiting for 30 minutes, the finance manager finally comes in. She begins to explain that the information that was given to me by Frederyc was incorrect and I did not need to provide my social if I was not financing through them. However, she begins to explain that because I wanted to purchase a loaner car and not finance through them, the cost would go up $1,000. I walked in there with a check at hand only to find out that I was given nothing but false information and the finalized price was in actuality not final. Do not waste your time with these individuals. Information seems to be made up along the way and it's quite unprofessional. They will cheat you and get over on you if you do not know what you are doing. I suggest that you spend your money elsewhere. More

Negative experience at Chevy Chase Acura I had been shopping for a new 2020 RDX Advance AWD to upgrade my 2016 RDX Advance AWD. I was in communication with Richard Boyd at Chevy Chase Acura I had been shopping for a new 2020 RDX Advance AWD to upgrade my 2016 RDX Advance AWD. I was in communication with Richard Boyd at Chevy Chase Acura for a few months discussing pricing and accessory options for a 2020 RDX Advance AWD. Richard knew the vehicle, color, and the accessories I was considering. He also knew the vehicle I would be trading and approximate mileage. When my Dad and I visited the dealership for the first time, it took 40 minutes after my vehicle was appraised to get the initial offer from the sales manager. Richard apologized and stated that the manager was working a quote for a second vehicle, in addition to mine. After a little back and forth, we agreed on a price, the agreement was signed, and a deposit was made. I was very satisfied with the price and felt that I had agreed to a good offer. Though, they never presented me with the final offer for my trade and the final price for the new vehicle. It was all lumped together in one bottom line price. At this point, I was told that the vehicle I had been looking at online for 2 months, and that Richard knew I was coming in to see, was being driven by the owner's wife and was not available for me to buy. I drove two and a half hours round trip to purchase a vehicle that could not be sold to me. I completed a minimal amount of paperwork and financing was briefly discussed, including the .9% interest rate that is offered through Acura. Richard promised that the accessories and Xzilon that I purchased would be installed when I went back approximately 4 days later to pickup the vehicle. My family and I traveled four and a half hours round trip from Pennsylvania to the dealership to pick up the vehicle on the agreed upon date. Initial paperwork was completed with the assistance of Richard and the finance manager came in to further discuss financing options. I knew Acura was offering .9% financing, as stated on both Chevy Chase Acura and Acura's websites. At this point, the finance manager told me that the .9% financing could not be combined with the agreed-upon price for the vehicle I was purchasing. He stated that Chevy Chase applied incentives to get me the price I wanted but could not offer the .9% financing that is advertised on both websites. Neither website states that the .9% financing cannot be combined with other incentives. Further, I had received multiple offers from other dealerships that combined incentives with the Acura .9% financing. I stated to the finance manager that if I could not receive the .9% financing that I would not purchase the car, as it was never mentioned to me that I either had to pick the .9% financing or stick with the agreed upon price of the vehicle. The finance manager asked another gentleman to step into the office. No introductions were made and we later determined we were speaking with Ralph Kolius, the sales manager. Ralph immediately and aggressively handed me my check back yelling "IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT?". He then stated that they could not offer the .9% financing with the added incentives. Yet, he would not elaborate on exactly what incentives or "pricing" I received that could not be combined. He did state that they could split the difference. I'm still unsure of what he meant by this since a credit check had not even been run yet and my interest rate was not determined. I declined his offer and he became irate. He did not care about satisfying a customer and he treated my family with absolute disrespect. He came into the office with my check in hand not willing to further discuss the deal or win my business. I wanted nothing more than to purchase a new RDX and continue driving a reliable and high-tech vehicle. But at this point, I do not feel that I am a valued Acura customer and most likely will not be making another Acura purchase. Chevy Chase Acura was sneaky and non-transparent in their deal. I have never been to a dealership where I have to specify before the negotiating starts that I would prefer a lower interest rate compared to a lower vehicle price. This is not how car buying works. I would highly recommend Chevy Chase Acura if you want something performant, reliable, and practical. After owning German cars, I will never go with another brand but Acura. I wanted to finish my lease earlier and drive another car. I wanted the newest model RDX., but it was not available. I had excessive mileage on my leased car. The lease would be over in seven months. If I leased another Acura, I could return my car three months earlier. The newest RDX would be available by then. All I would be charged was excessive mileage – projected $800. However, they told me that lease prices would be expensive at that time and advised to lease an old RDX right away, while they were still available. Then they promised to favorably replace it with the newest RDX in about a year. The older RDX ran well, but it lacked even the basic technology and safety features. They promised me the greatest deal on this old RDX and soon replace it with the new model, when prices would be more favorable. However, it was a sham. The problems started immediately. This old RDX used artificial material instead of real leather, which was toxic for some people. I simply was sick from fumes and was another person. All others did not get sick, but found fumes uncomfortable. I contacted the dealer right away and explained the situation. They promised to help. But it was an empty promise. They gave me a runaround for weeks, and them explained that I could trade in the car with $10,000 loss and get another Acura from them. Otherwise, they were not going to take the car. I understood that by returning a car I would be be losing money, but ten thousand dollars was beyond unreasonable. If the car had so much negative equity, how in just year this negative equity could magically disappear? The value of the car would drop in a year. My total lease payments would be barely a half of the negative equity. Obviously, there would be no good deal in a year. They just needed to get rid of these dated older RDX. I kept asking them , how in just a year they weer going to trade in this very car which had so much negative equity? They did not answer. The deal they offered me on another Acura was not very good and I did not fall for it. I contacted Acura USA about the toxic material but wasted time. They confirmed that the material makes some people sick, but according to them the number of people who may get sick from fumes was very small and therefore Acura was not going to do anything about it. When I arrived, everything was very well organized and I had very little wait time to be greeted. Eric Sanchez was extremely polite and very accommodating. Roberto who did the repairs I needed was excellent. I was given a quote and explanation for everything before automatically being charged. I came in with a noise that was difficult to explain, and another dealership told me it was my transmission, and this would cost thousands of dollars. Another dealership told me I needed wheel bearings and brakes. Roberto diagnosed the issue and found the problem, and it ended up being on warranty. He also examined the brakes, and the only thing I needed was a brake fluid flush. Eric called me with the information, from the technician and even went through everything when the car was finished. I saved thousands of dollars because of the fantastic service and professionalism. The waiting room was awesome,. I was able to work in a quiet room, and did what I needed to do for my job. Thank you Chevy Chase Acura. When I need to replace my Acura, I will definitely be back!! More
