Advertised a certain price. I traveled quite a ways based on price and I was dis appointed about the add-ons for a USED car. They added $1100.00 for some car coating protection on a 2010 vehicle which based on price and I was dis appointed about the add-ons for a USED car. They added $1100.00 for some car coating protection on a 2010 vehicle which was not advertised and the description showed a remote starter which was not in the car either. Sales manager showed ZERO remorse!!! Low and behold I walked out after wasting TIME, GAS, MILEAGE and 4 HOURS of my PTO. Chevrolet of Wayzata lost referrals and will not receive a dime. More
We did not have a good experience when we purchased a car in the spring. The vehicle had a significant scratch in the hood, we said the only way we’d buy it is if that was fixed. The salesman Jack said oh ye in the spring. The vehicle had a significant scratch in the hood, we said the only way we’d buy it is if that was fixed. The salesman Jack said oh yeah we’ll fix that up and you won’t even know it was there. That was a lie. My husband took it in a few times spending hours there, it never got fixed. We called multiple times and didn’t get a satisfactory resolve. Even the Manager wasn’t any help. And the buying experience took several hours, we kept telling them we had to go and they were very disrespectful of our hard still off time that we told them over and over again. Don’t waste your time or money with them, they are the typical sleezy lying sales team. More
I purchased a Chrysler Pacifica from their lot 3 days ago. My experience was good at first. The salesman Jack greeted me with ease, I told him the vehicle I was interested in, he pulled it and I took it ago. My experience was good at first. The salesman Jack greeted me with ease, I told him the vehicle I was interested in, he pulled it and I took it for a test drive. The vehicle handled well. Came back and I told him that if he can give me what I was looking for my trade car, than I would buy it. He got me what I was asking for my trade and went to work.....That's where things took a turn. I told Jack that I needed to be out within an hour, he said "no problem!". It took over 2 hours to get me out the door. I was already late to go to work AND the finance guy Kevin was rushing through the paperwork because he had to leave also. And you can also tell the serious level of professionalism (which they have 0) because Kevin kept answering personal phone calls while going through the paperwork with me! I mean seriously? You NEVER answer a personal phone call while dealing with a customer! I felt that it was more important for him to leave than my purchase. On top of it all, the sale price listed on the vehicle isn't what I ended up paying! This dealership likes to add things to their fleet of cars and expect for the customer to pay for them regardless if the customer agrees or not. They added this shadow mark, rust protection and the silver package to the vehicle prior to listing it for sale. Jack (the sales guy) never disclosed to me that this was done, Kevin (the finance guy) mentioned to me, but because everything was going very fast, he didnt explained what that was. I reviewed the paperwork later that night and I noticed that they added $1200.00 worth of add ons to my sale price without my consent! I called the dealership the next day and spoke with Aaron and was told that they add those things to every vehicle and expect us to pay for it. How the xxxx does that make sense? It should be given to the customers for free since the dealership is deciding to add those things on in the first place or at least give your customers the choice, instead of forcing them down our throats! Aside from the fact that this vehicle, even though they claim it was serviced, the oil change meter was not reset, the two car fobs were given to me with low battery AND the tires are about a year or less from becoming completely bold, PLUS I found a dent on the back right side of the vehicle that was NOT fixed and it was poorly painted. It looks horrible! My 4 year old son, would have done a better job at painting it! This vehicle cost $36,000 (if you add the stuff the dealership added behind my back) I understand that this was a used vehicle, but how in the xxxx do you expect your customers to trust you and your judgement if you do shady xxxx like that behind close doors and claim the vehicle is in "good" standards when there is a clear and very visible dent on it! The General Manager Josh is a joke. He starts telling me that on their website, there is a disclaimer stating "this dealership reserves the right to add any and all features and accessories prior to selling the vehicle". I am yet to find said disclaimer. Telling me that I could return the vehicle, but it will cost me $1400.00 alone to return it and they won't return my trade in either. I told him about the oil change meter and he started telling me that Chrysler uses some sort of code to reset the meter. The guy is full of xxxx, because all it took is for ME and 2 minutes to figure out to go into the settings of the vehicle and follow the instructions to reset it. This type of ineptitude is beyond frustrating. Nevertheless, I won't be returning the vehicle, but I sure as xxxx know now, NEVER to do business with that shady xxx dealership again or any of its people and I sure hope that anyone who takes the time to read my review considers staying away from them, because all they'll end up doing is ripping you off. NEW UPDATE! After writing this review, Aaron Johnson calls me because he wants to talk to me about my review, I call him back on 8/23. He tells me that he read my review and that he "truly" wants to remedy my situation and "make me happy" So he asks, "What can we do to make you happy?" We talk about my review and I tell him "If your intentions are real and you are truly wanting to remedy my situation I want new tires and half the money you charged me behind my back" I asked for new tires because the tires that they claimed were "okay", no they are not okay, they are down to their last tread. Aaron, tells me "If I give you what you want, will you take the review down?" I tell him "I won't take it down, but I'll modify it and depending on what you can do, I'll adjust the star rating" He tells me "Let me see what I can do and I will call you back later today" This conversation happened exactly 9 days ago. Aaron or anyone from that dealership NEVER called me back. I have no interest in speaking with any of them at all. My review stands. WORSE DEALERSHIP EVER! More
Was contacted by Napleton Wayzata Chevrolet about a $34.95 oil change offer for my 2017 Traverse. It was changed there 5,000 miles ago. Verified that the special included oil and filter. Went to my app $34.95 oil change offer for my 2017 Traverse. It was changed there 5,000 miles ago. Verified that the special included oil and filter. Went to my appointment and waited for my vehicle. I was pleasantly surprised when it was "done" in about 30 minutes. I always mark filters and tires to make sure they get changed or rotated. When I checked at home, the same filter was on there and the oil looked the same. All I got was a new windshield sticker telling me to change again in 5,000 miles. The $34.95 special is a great deal- for them. I will contact them and hope they make it right. Beware- this is NOT the excellent Village Chev we've known for years. More
Stopped in to buy a new Suburban. 4 Guys leaning on cars told me they had none to sell. Told them I am OK with placing an order and waiting. Not taking orders they told me. OK, See ya later. The next day I told me they had none to sell. Told them I am OK with placing an order and waiting. Not taking orders they told me. OK, See ya later. The next day I searched the Chevrolet website for what I was looking for within a 1000 mile radius. Low and behold, an exact match was on its way to Wayzata Chevrolet. Perfect! Almost. Out of a total of 8 exact matches, every dealer was selling at MSRP, except Wayzata Chevrolet at MSRP plus $5,000. My new Chevrolet dealer is 500 miles from my doorstep. They did pick me up at the airport, gave me a lift to the dealership and I drove away with my new vehicle. Customers are just someone to skin at Wayzata Chevrolet: Beware! I have resubmitted this review because it keeps getting deleted in the Google review. More
Absolutely the worst Dealership and most unethical Sales manager I have ever come across.. STAY FAR AWAY FROM AARON JOHNSON. The most repulsive and least ethical Chevrolet dealership I have ever encountered. I own a small business with about 10 cars in the fleet. At one time all bought from Village. Over 10 years ago we had consec I have ever encountered. I own a small business with about 10 cars in the fleet. At one time all bought from Village. Over 10 years ago we had consecutive bad trips thru the service group: promoting and selling things that were not needed. Our relationship was based on trust and they showed they were not trustworthy. That ended it. Recently thought maybe it's time to give them another shot: blew me off in the showroom. Found exactly what I wanted on the Chevy website. Found about 10 exact matches within a 1000 mile radius, and low and behold, one was at Village when the day before when I stopped in they said they did not have any. Problem solved? No way! Ten exact matches within a 1000 miles and every dealership selling at MSRP except one: Village Chev at MSRP + $5,000. They are always on the lookout for a new fat hog to skin: AVOID AT ALL COSTS More
My experience with Wayzata Chevrolet was less than desirable to say the least. I live about 45 minutes away and my salesperson told me they were doing everything by appointment only. I show up to my 4 desirable to say the least. I live about 45 minutes away and my salesperson told me they were doing everything by appointment only. I show up to my 4:00pm appointment to test drive a used Toyota Tundra. I show up to my appointment and someone who drove up to the lot was scoping out the Truck I drove 45 minutes away to test drive. The salesperson goes over to the other guy and takes the walk in for a test drive and my salesperson who I made an appointment with tells me basically it’s a “coin-flip” whether or not that guys is going to buy it so I guess we’ll just wait and see. I’m obviously pissed but I get that it’s a dealership and they are in the business of selling cars not giving test drives but a Dealership that really cared about their customers I feel would of told the guy who just drove up that this vehicle has a scheduled appointment and we’d be more than happy to show it to you if things don’t work out with the guy who had an appointment. Instead, I speak to the sales manager and am told in a nut shell “tough xxxxing luck” and I’m welcome to stick around to see if the walk in guy doesn’t buy it. Needless to say I can’t suggest strongly enough to stay away from salesman Ethan Wehling and the rest of the sales team at Wayzata Chevrolet. If they aren’t afraid to xxxx you that badly on just showing you the car then God only knows how bad they’ll xxxx you everywhere else. More
This will not be pretty at all. I will start off by saying that although Taylor the salesman asked for a 5 star review, sadly he will need to be a casualty in this train wreck of an experience. First I saying that although Taylor the salesman asked for a 5 star review, sadly he will need to be a casualty in this train wreck of an experience. First I drove down from Blaine to test drive this 2019 Sante Fe going for 18,250. Everything started off well, random small talk in the car during the test drive, etc. I was going to trade in my 2011 Chevy Cruze and when we got back went to sit down at Taylor´s station while we waited. I told him I was in fact interested so he ran some numbers for me that would include the final price with the trade in amount. A few minutes later I find myself looking at the itemized price sheet - with a couple of surprises - the first of a few. On it was my trade in valued at 3,000. KBB in fair condition was 4137, so over 1000 below the KBB value, lowball for sure, but hey things like that should be expected I suppose (but not with all dealers. Later on I negotiated up to 3800, but they would not budge on the 18,250). Up a few lines was an amount under the line item ¨Accessories¨ for 899.00. I inquired about that amount and was told it was this miraculous stuff they coat the exterior and interior of the car with called Xzylon or something or other. It was put on every car and comes with a 5 year warranty. Whatever the benefits of this product, this was not a choice; if I wanted the car I paid the 899.00 for this miracle. Two things wrong with this: 1 This inclusion was never mentioned on the website/page for the car in question - very misleading, bordering on false advertising if you ask me for obvious reasons, the main one being it was part of the price of the car, this was not a choice customers had. A fair and honest dealership would have included this in the asking price, or made it plain that the asking price was before the 899.00 required markup for the miracle. 2. This inclusion once I was at the dealership should have been brought to my attention and disclosed before bringing me an itemized price listing, which is all part of transparency that ends up building trust, so the fact this was not mentioned highlights the deceptive tactic even more brightly (I wonder how many customers saw this as part of the ¨tax, title license¨ fees and did not even question it). The salesman literally explained the stuff to me as if he were trying to sell it to me, not as if I had a choice to buy it or not. The timing and the reveal of finding out about this hidden and downright blatant deceitful tactic was startling to say the least. But we are not done...there was more to come...Next up was financing. I explained I would put some money down (for some reason they really wanted to know how much, but I was noncommittal). Taylor left for a bit as they ran my credit. Minutes later I am staring down at a table that shows what my monthly amount would be for several possible months financed at several possible dollar amounts put down, with the 3.99% rate my credit garnered. Nothing out of the ordinary about that except the amount of each payment. I stared at it a bit, even took my calculator out and crunched some numbers. Something seemed off. I mentioned that the monthly payments seemed a bit high and was then informed that they reflected the monthly payments with the (optional) extended warranty. Now I have bought a few cars in my day and never was I solely and initially shown and quoted a monthly payment that automatically included the extended warranty. I was not informed they would be doing this and I am almost certain that they would not have told me if I agreed to the terms until I found out (perhaps) when I met with the financier deal closer. I asked if I could see another table that included the amounts with the monthly payments without the added extended warranty. I was and was soon presented with a monthly payment more expected and about 50.00 less per month than before. At about this time my mind was beginning to realize this was not the ideal situation and that these business practices were sketchy at best. BUT I had been to a lot of dealers and was getting run down a bit, and further my wife really wanted a Santa Fe. Which brings me to the next adventure in this tragedy - financing - scene 2. As mentioned they ran my credit and I was in pretty good shape and secured that 3.99% rate for 60 months. I would have taken it but a call to my wife at home made me think otherwise. My wife gently reminded me that her credit was better than mine and that we got a better interest rate (2.89%) on our Sienna using her credit score. I relayed this information to Taylor who told me they could not run my wife´s credit score without her signing the form. After another call in I suggested my wife come down and give it a try (not a short drive, but perhaps worth it we thought). When I mentioned this to Taylor and the finance rep.I was told that the financing would probably be the same rate even with her higher score. I asked what my score was and Taylor told me he could not tell me and that only the person who ran the score could. So we got him out and he told me my score and said in no uncertain terms that my wife´s score, even if better would probably either still result in a 3.99% rate or the monthly amount would only go down only about $7.00. I communicated this to my wife who rightfully so informed them they were incorrect and that she would in fact come down and sign the credit check form. During this interim of waiting about 30 minutes to get here I took the opportunity to give Taylor some advice. 1. Let people know either online, and up front soon in the process that each and every car's true asking price is actually 899.00 more that they are thinking, 2. When you are showing a breakdown of pricing for the vehicle, show it without any add ons and extra warranties without discussing it with the customer. Both practices make the customer feel swindled and manipulated and distrustful. So my wife comes down, they run her credit and we are waiting - for much longer than I had to initially wait. We finally are asked to go finalize the deal in the business office, thinking we would be told the new breakdown and hopefully the better rate. But no - we are asked to just start signing away. I stopped the woman and asked her before we signed that we would like to know the results of my wife´s credit check and if we had in fact gotten a better rate. She looked extremely bewildered, asking didn't we already talk with Taylor about that. I said we had not and we were waiting all this time for the results. Well, it turns out that my wife got us a 2.99% rate and our monthly payment went down about 40.00/month - not the $7.00 we were told. To me this lack of communication from the sales reps highlights again the deception and lies they tried to use to close the deal at 3.99%. So: my final analysis of this dealership is that they are manipulative, dishonest, and untrustworthy. I realize I should have walked out right after I processed that 899.00 add on so well hidden and not talked about - just like the older gentleman behind me at one of the tables did when he found out about it. Before he left he stormed into the business office to demand it be removed, which did not happen as reflected in his empty chair for the remainder of my visit. Taylor was nice enough and we had some good conversation talking about this and that. My advice for him is that in order to keep his integrity he should bolt from that place and find a dealership much more honest and transparent, it would suit him more -because like I said he was a nice guy - who is simply a victim of the practices of his employer. Good luck to him! For me, my regret for staying and buying from this dealer will linger for a while - I know I should have left - but I guess I can find some comfort knowing that maybe I could steer one other person away from this place. Tim Murphy helped us with our purchase. We weren't sure of the chevy line up and he was very informative. We shopped around but ultimately came back because of his willingness and knowledge.
