EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE FROM A TOURIST FROM OHIO From the moment I walked into this service desk area, and said to James Moore the express lube manager, that I was probably asking for the impossible From the moment I walked into this service desk area, and said to James Moore the express lube manager, that I was probably asking for the impossible at 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon, I knew from his quick reply that I was wrong. I was 4200 miles from my home in Ohio, and before I was going to drive home I wanted to get the appropriate service on my 2014 Caddie. Almost instantly he and his crew had my car in the shop, and in 40 minutes I was on the road again. I had a warranty program that he had not experienced in Fairbanks, no problem, it was solved by the behind the office manager and we were good to go after I received a great tip on a place to catch lunch. I have a great dealer here in Salem Ohio, however the whole operation in Fairbanks was a wow experience. Thank you, Dick and Dixie Sober p.s. We had a great drive home without a concern or worry. Buying a new pickup We went in to get our vehicle services and I asked the service department to go over the vehicle and see what was needed to get it ready for the winte We went in to get our vehicle services and I asked the service department to go over the vehicle and see what was needed to get it ready for the winter. In Alaska the weather can be brutal. Once the service person came and told us what was all needed to get it back up into tip-top shape because a few of small things were starting to need replacing and since we were considering in the spring to buy something newer we thought now is a great time instead of spring. We looked at a couple of trucks and we found a couple that we liked and we told the sales person that we wanted to think about our buying a newer vehicle for a couple of days and we would be back on that Monday. On Monday we went back up to the dealership and told the sales person that we just wanted a regular simple type pickup truck and told her what we wanted in it and on it she told us that they had the last 2015 GMC Sierra brand new pickup and it was already discounted to the price we were comfortable with. She showed us and it was just what we wanted and needed. We [my wife and I test drove it] took it for a test drive and we really liked the way it handled and drove. The dealership even threw in a few extra things that we wanted to get at a later date as a bonus. We were happy when they did that and we are still HAPPY> The truck had only 10 miles on it when we bought it. We highly recommend this dealership for any vehicle that you are considering to buy. Go in and look around and see one of the sales personnel. They would be happy to meet you and talk to you. One other thing -- They even gave us COFFEE and on our return trip to get New Running Boards the sales person is going to get a a dough nut. This is not my first stellar review of the Service Department at this dealership - the last one was February 2015 when I noted that over the last 8 ye This is not my first stellar review of the Service Department at this dealership - the last one was February 2015 when I noted that over the last 8 years I've had great experiences with both sales and service at Fairbanks Chevrolet and in the last several years they have really stepped up their game. Once again I have to point out that Shana Lindsay is a top-shelf Service Advisor that I would trust with my mother's car. She is very thorough in reviewing past service histories and advising you on what is needed - in this latest experience it was my 2009 Avalanche I bought at Fairbanks Chevrolet in 2014. A lot of 50K maintenance work was done along with some needed repairs in a time-efficient manner with good workmanship - and all at a reasonable price. A lot of people claim dealership service is expensive but I disagree based on my experience with Fairbanks Chevrolet - it's done right the first time and I have peace of mind that my truck is good as new! Keep up the good work guys and ladies! More
