They Knocked an Unexpected Curve Ball Out of the Park! I got a flat over the Labor Day Weekend (bad timing) & came in first thing Tuesday w/ no appointment, riding in on the spare doughnut. After a holiday I got a flat over the Labor Day Weekend (bad timing) & came in first thing Tuesday w/ no appointment, riding in on the spare doughnut. After a holiday weekend, there's normally a HUGE line of cars needing service. As I began to explain, a little panicky, that I had an 40 mile road trip scheduled for Wednesday with my wife who has Parkinson's, Brent reassured me that he's on top of it. Brent went above & beyond the call of duty and was able to find a super small window for my repair. Best car service experience ever! I expected to be told to pick it up the following day but was lucky enough to wait for the repair - which totally relieved my mind that my wife was waiting at home alone; a bit of a risk. I know plugging a tire isn't the hardest thing a mechanic has on their plate BUT the fast timing, care & awesome service 100% made my day! Thanks to Brent & his team, looking forward to return business (words rarely said of a service visit) More
New Tires Needed on a New Jetta with Only 21,000 Miles 2017 VW Jetta purchased in 11/2016 from Checkered Flag. I took my car back to Checkered Flag in 2/17 & 4/17 for oil changes & tire rotations. Came b 2017 VW Jetta purchased in 11/2016 from Checkered Flag. I took my car back to Checkered Flag in 2/17 & 4/17 for oil changes & tire rotations. Came back 9/16/17 for an oil change & State inspection only to learn that my front tires were bad. The Bridgestone tires that were on the car when purchased were worn to the silver chords or almost through on the inside front tires. I asked how this could happen if the tires had been rotated the last 2 visits & was told normal wear & tear. Also, Derek nor the Robert could find in the computer system on the past 2 oil changes that my tires had in fact been rotated. I feel that my tires were not rotated as I asked on the previous 2 oil changes. The Bridgestone tires were 70,000 mile tires & the car only has 21,000 miles on it to date. I had no choice but to purchase 2 new front tires in order to pass the State inspection. I will not be back nor will I recommend Checkered Flag service department or sales to any one. This was a rip off & I shouldn't have had to replace 2 front tires at only 21,000 miles regardless. More
On Vacation far from home I was on vacation down at Virginia Beach with my two young boys when my 2003 VW Eurovan broke down on our way out of town heading home to Pennsylvania I was on vacation down at Virginia Beach with my two young boys when my 2003 VW Eurovan broke down on our way out of town heading home to Pennsylvania. I had it towed to Checkered Flag Volkswagen and the staff there was right on it. They diagnosed the problem and ordered the part overnighted from Knoxville, TN. Keep in mind this was a Friday in the late afternoon. The mechanic Will, who worked on my van, was amazing. He even stayed after his shift to make sure that my van was ready. And when I had another problem 40 miles from the dealership he came and fixed it so I could get home. Krystal in the service department was extremely helpful and kept the communication with me completely up to date. I wish this dealership was in my backyard. I am very grateful to the dedicated staff at Checkered Flag!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you :) More

This was pointed out to the staff, and the unwanted services charges were dropped. Staff in the service department seemed overwhelmed. Upon leaving the dealership, noticed a reverberation in the intake/ exhaust system that I am working to resolve. I do not subscribe to conspiracy theories, so I will say it's simply a coincidence. One I will be exploring at a different shop. More

Came in to get a state inspection and was told my wiper blades were bad. The dealership wanted to charge twice what every other car parts place was. I looked up part numbers online and checked with the parts department and purchased a pair and brought them in. Amazingly enough they weren't the right blades. Will be driving over an hour away to Southern VW for all my future services. More
I brought my vehicle to Checkered Flag Volkswagen for service (replace upper control arms/tie rods) etc... The repair was good, but while in the dealership for service, my radio was removed and the glov service (replace upper control arms/tie rods) etc... The repair was good, but while in the dealership for service, my radio was removed and the glove box was broken into. When I brought this to the attention of the service advisor, the manager, and the dealership, they all turned deaf ears and did NOTHING to fix the problem. I wrote the Checkered Flag Corporate Dealership twice and never got a response from them. I contacted the dealerships insurance carrier and they said that I waited too long and that the dealership was no longer responsible. All kinds of lies were said by the insurance carrier even though they didn't even take time to listen to what happened. They just didn't want to repair my car which was damaged by their insured. When I went back for service, I saw this card and I had to rate the Checkered Flag Volkswagen dealership based on how poorly they are when it comes to problems. They don't mind smiling in the ideal situation which is when the do a repair and charge you a high price and you pay, which I have done because I have been a longstanding customer with them. They have excellent mechanics and up until the departure of Jeff Bruyner (my old service advisor), I never had a problem because he was outstanding also. New employees and disingenuous service advisors supported by their manager (Candace) that try to rip you off is what they have now. There is now a new service advisor also named Candace and I don't want to confuse the employees, because she had nothing to do with my negative experience. More
