Jeff was very helpful in making my buying experience pleasant, however, it took 5 hours to complete the deal and drive my new Veloster home. Most of the delay was waiting in cue for finance. I DO NOT RECOMMEND: I got picked up from our house at 1100 to go get the car. Stuck in traffic. Got there at 1200. Paid $150 for the flush, new air filter, and a state inspection that didn't pass & they took my rejection sticker and didn't replace it with an updated one giving me an extra 14 days to fix whatever.. They stated I have to go back to where I failed because I can't be in the system as failing twice at two different places. Sure I though, that made sense, no problem. They told me I still needed to pay for it (with no sticker) because the inspection was done; didn't pass because of a crack in my exhaust pipe and worn tires...but my tires have green check marks on the service report for tread depth?? Explain that one. I paid and signed both invoices: one listed for an airbag recall repair & multi-point inspection and a second invoice for the flush, air filter, & multi-point inspection. The service person at the desk went to fetch my car and said "have a nice day". And I left dealership confused about the inspection but went on my way. I then went to the near by farm fresh to do WIC. I didn't need it, but a woman in my NWCA lost her job and her kids are too old for WIC so I wanted to get it and give it all to her. So that is what Henry, my 2 year old and I did. Milk, Cereal, cheese, vegetables, fruit, eggs, beans. I just wanted to be nice. Well after an hour of shopping, Henry was well behaved and got a lollipop and balloon, mommy got frozen yogurt and raviolis. It was empty so the cashier was proud of my organization having a total of 12 checks to process. We knocked it out in about 10-15 minutes, it was impressive. Also had a bagger to help. Convienant. Went to the car, the doors wouldn't unlock. I used the key. Its 94* out & I go to turn on the car, it won't turn on, won't turn over, nothing, no sound at all. I go back inside to call the Hyundai Dealership I just left; they tell me its all my fault and that leaving it there for a month and a half NOTE: It was only there for 33 days. Not a "month and a half". I informed the service coordinator I was going on vacation and wouldn't be back for two weeks. He said it was fine. Two days before I was supposed to come home I ended up in the ER with a jaw infection which resulted in oral surgery and removal of three teeth and part of my jaw bone. The service manager told me "that isn't an excuse for abandoning your car here." He asked if it could be towed to my home or if someone could find a way to get it. They had my only keys and my husband is deployed. There were no options. Well on the first Multi-Point Inspection report it recommended that I do a power steering flush and change my air filter. So I asked the manager, if I schedule more work, then will you keep my car while I finish my 4 dental procedures and recuperating. He agreed. I went to the online service request site and filed for the work to be done. I could barely talk to the manager because of my jaw being in so much pain, so I opted to us the online scheduler. I received an email confirmation for July 28th and an email reminder for drop off. I waited for the service to be completed. The manager called again accusing me of abandoning my car. I said "no, I was waiting for someone to call and tell me everything has been completed and no one has called yet." The manager informed me that there was no record of the service request and scheduled it for Aug 1/2nd. END NOTE "They" still continue to tell me it is my fault. The service coordinator is the one relaying all of this instead of the manager or someone speaking to me directly. And she can't answer any of my questions nor get a hold of anyone. Henry is eating the lollipop and I am sitting, CRYING, in the floral section of the FF. People are starting to notice, coming up to me. Then, of course, the woman on the phone is trying to tell me I can call a towing company...which I didn't want to do because of the cost, I didn't have my AAA card on me, and I didn't want to wait an hour+ and the dealership was literally 2-5 miles up the road. I had groceries. I had ice cream. I had a car at Farm Fresh. So after still crying the woman asks "well don't you have any friends?" I mumbled "My husband is deployed, I am 31 weeks pregnant, with my two year old and ice cream. I don't live anywhere near here and I don't know anyone that I could ask to come out here." She said "your husband's deployed?... hold on." She came back minutes later and said that the driver would jump me up at the grocery store, follow me back to the dealership to get the car checked out and then take me to my house with my groceries. We hung up upon agreeing to this. Co-currently, a very kind man that works at the FF walked up to me as many other were still doing and I explained the situation. He told me that he could jump me in a few minutes. As he was talking to me, Henry let go of his balloon, "mommy, mommy, go get it, please, mommy, go get it. Please" so of course what do I do...start crying again. I think his name was Craig. His name tag said "Associate of the Month". Well he came over and said he was ready. My car turned right on as soon as I turned my key only about a minute after being connected. The Hyundai courtesy driver calls as I am leaving the FF parking lot. I told him I got a jump and was going home and would appreciate it if my service liason would call me. When he called he continued to let me know that it was all my fault. That the inspection was copy and pasted and not repeated. He didn't realize that I was only 4 miles away and that the battery didn't get a long enough time period to recharge to even determine if it was the battery or just the fact that it sat. Once I informed him that I had only gone about 4 miles, he recommended driving for a while...so that is what I did, and that everything would be fine. I went home and my car had run for over an hour. I turned it off and started it again with no problem. The next day (Saturday) I went to turn on my car and it didn't start. So I had to take my husband's, I was volunteering at a children's clothing drive in Chesapeake. As I left the clothing drive, my car stalled and I got rear ended bruising my sternum and ribs. Thank goodness my son wasn't in the car but I am still 31 weeks pregnant (8 months) and that kind of stress could have not only been avoided if my car was in good working order when your dealership gave it back to me, but it could have put me into labor. I understand it was my choice to take my husband's car, but again my injuries and accident could have been avoided if Hyundai had returned my car in working order. In conclusion. #1. My battery worked then: They did service work for my flush Thursday, August 2nd. How can my battery be dead from sitting but they got it in the garage to do the service and NO ONE say anything to me, the owner. It was moved in for the first service, out to the lot, moved for the flush and out for the flush. And there were NO reported problems. #2. No one said anything if there was something wrong with my battery: they didn't say anything when I paid them $150 to make sure she was in running order, it was not noted on the second invoice, and there were no post-its or words from the manager at the opposite counter. #3. On my second invoice it shows a Multi-point Inspection was done (if it wasn't completed it should not have been on the invoice): there is a green check mark next to battery performance test as well as everything else showing it passed the Hyundai Multi-Point Inspection. I have a copy of TWO separate inspections! #4. Where is the customer service? Where is the help? The consideration? More
