Recently my husband and I went to this dealership to test drive the 2010 Hyundai Elantra SE. When we arrived, we met Bryan Lane and Rich Jakubs. After Bryan honestly and respectfully answered questions I had concerning the USAA price guarantee, which was a very important factor for me, my husband and I went outside with Rich to take the test drive. Rich was more than knowledgeable about the Hyundai. Not only about that particular make and model, but also about so many other important aspects of purchasing a vehicle. He gave answers to all of our questions as well as all the time we needed to make our decision. I must say this was a very pleasant and memorable experience! We went back inside to let Bryan know we wanted to buy the car. It was just about closing time so we decided to call it a day and come back in the morning. Bryan saved all of our information on the computer for us so the next day we could pick up where we left off. The next day we met again with Rich, who was prepared with our paperwork and made everything move along at a fast pace. Next we met Billy Daniels to complete our financial paperwork and were impressed with him as well. He was completely honest and kind. I personally was 100% impressed. I ask a lot of tough questions and Billy does not B/S anything! Waiting outside was our brand new beautiful car, already gassed up and ready to go. Rich explained everything we needed to know about our car and we were ready to drive her home! I would recommend this team of gentlemen to all! They all took the time to show us respect and treated us with kindness and honesty! One last comment, I have always had a mistrust of car dealerships. I no longer feel this way. What a great experience! I have purchased 6 new and 7 used vehicles since 1976, and this was by far the best car shopping experience ever due mainly to our salesman – Herbert Okine (all very matter of fa used vehicles since 1976, and this was by far the best car shopping experience ever due mainly to our salesman – Herbert Okine (all very matter of fact -- you ask/they answer, absolutely no pressure, and all deals up front instead of having to pry them from the dealer's hidden vault or secrets held back in case you don’t buy offer 1, 2, or 3). We asked Herbert about financing options expecting the typical two or three 3.9%, 4.9%, or “money down” options, but Herbert listed eight options--all he could think of, demonstrating overall costs, monthly amount options...the works (no hidden agendas!). In fact, Herbert is still helping today following up with our daughters on the phone to answer questions about the new car, maintenance plans, etc. The experience was so good that although I originally planned on buying only one car for our daughter returning to the USA for college, we ended up buying a second car for my other daughter going to college in Oklahoma. STORY: I am active duty military stationed overseas about to deploy for a year, and I had little time in the states for training and visiting family with my wife and two children much less having to wrangle my way through the myriad of car sales personalities trying to sell me things I did or didn't need, bashing other dealers and their products, etc. My wife and I visited 14 dealers in the Virginia Beach area, reviewed hundreds of offers online, and just as we were trying to determine which deal wasn't the worst, we spotted Checkered Flag Hyundai while driving down Virginia Beach Blvd and thought what the heck – GLAD WE DID! The manager was outside talking to other customers about a car, turned for a second to ask "just let me know if you need any help or have any questions" (no pressure), and then turned back to talk to his customers. We walked the lot for about five minutes (without being “stalked” like the other places), and then asked for some help. Herbert came out very relaxed and matter of fact, introduced himself, and asked how he could help. We told him what we wanted (features, price range, etc.), and he showed us three models with prices from lowest to highest for each model (basic to fully equipped). He never pushed one or the other on us, simply responded to questions. He mentioned some option packages and why one would be better than the other, told us every deal on the lot, when they ended, and even projected deals he was aware of. Again, never any pressure, very relaxed through the entire process, almost as if he didn’t care if he sold anything or not, just glad to help by showing us what he had within our requirements. Even the lease and signing process was pressure free unlike every other dealer I’ve worked with trying to pressure into optional support packages and such. The financial representative stated up front “I will show you the options we offer without any pressure, and we will only talk about the ones your are interested in or if you have any questions…we do not pressure any of our customers at Checker Flag,” and they didn’t! Again, great experience, hope the car works out over time as well as the deal. Highly recommend Checkered Flag Hyundai and Herbert Okine if you can get him. More

Ok first off i have learned to never take your wife to a car dealer ship. My first experience with matt was in September 2009 when we bought my wife a cherry red VW Jetta she loved it. well she got pregnant car dealer ship. We go in to checkered flag for our annual inspection, so we are waiting and my wife seen this 2007 toureg she liked. Matt again helped run the numbers after that she liked the Tiguan Le so he ran numbers on that then she liked the Tiguan Se he ran the numbers on that then she liked the mini van he ran the numbers on that. WOW after all that if i was matt i would have walked away but after a about 6 hours sitting their telling my wife just pick one she decided on the Tiguan SE and we love it. I bought my Jeep at hall across the street and never got half the service that i got at checkered flag VW. Matt thanks and good luck with everything. i would recomend talking to matt. More
