Being new to VA Beach area Hyundai Checkered Flag has one of the best customer service. As a Californian transplant I was on a search for a brand new car, not just any new car, but my very first brand new c of the best customer service. My husband and I narrowed down our car "wish list" and Hyundai ranked at the top 3. We decided to check out the Elantra GT and maybe even go for a test drive. Not to sound like a typical reviewer but, the employees at Hyundai are conscientious, professional and welcome-friendly! My first car purchase, in terms of paper work, was such a breeze (i did make sure i was semi prepared with all my paper work). Our first visit to Hyundai our consultant was Joel Perry. We happened to just call him out from afar because I had a question. Immediately, Joel generated a connection with us made to make us both feel welcome, he was very responsive and thorough to all question. You could tell Joel was not just there to make a sale, he not only asked about what kind of car I was looking for but made sure the car was indeed the car I wanted. Joel took us out on a test drive, he was very knowledgeable about the car's performance and features, again very thorough and quite funny. He didn't try to talk us up into buying the car because of the fancy stuff, rather, he talked about the performance and safety features (which was one of our and his biggest concerns) and why the car would be a good contender for me. Before making an final decision, Joel knew we needed to "think about it", handed us his card, and told us to give him a call when we're good an ready. We returned a few days later and I bought my car! The process was typical, but it wasn't as difficult because everyone at Hyundai worked together to breaking down numbers, choosing a financing options, and closing the sale. I drove away in my brand new Elantra GT happy. My husband and I are recommending Hyundai Checkered Flag at VaBeach to all our family and friends who are thinking about purchasing a car. This was my best car buying experience ever! I had done my research before entering the show room and knew what I wanted and could afford. As a woman I expected to be treated like an idiot as I had been at my research before entering the show room and knew what I wanted and could afford. As a woman I expected to be treated like an idiot as I had been at other dealerships but this was not the case. I was warmly greated upon entering the showroom and treated with respect. Every one I met remembered and used my name even in subsequent visits. Joel Perry was terrific..friendly ,patient and knowledgeable. I had not purchased a car in 15 years so there was a great deal of new technology for me to absorb..again,the man is very patient. With his help I bought a vehicle I am thrilled with. It was far more than I dreamed I would drive home in. Joel worked with me to get the price I needed to make the purchase,called me to make sure I got the car home ok and has patiently answered questions about features I had never seen before. Thank you Joel! I also want to thank Randy Turk for making a mountain of paperwork easier to wade thru. He patiently explained it all and made sure I knew exactly what I was signing,answered all of my questionsand made some suggestions to add some thing I hadn't considered. I also have had 2 enounters with the parts department where everyone was helpful and friendly. I never felt pressure,pushed or uncomfortable in any way and am impressed with the high level of customer service. I have already told all my friends,neighbors and coworkers about my buying experience and have handed out Joel's card. I am still learnig to use some of the features on the car and I know I can call for help if I need to. Thanks to all of you for making this such a great experience. More

I had to visit Checkered Flag Hyundai on June 28 to have emergency work done on my 2010 Hyundai Accent. The service department was shortstaffed and I faced a very long wait, so just out of curiosity I decid emergency work done on my 2010 Hyundai Accent. The service department was shortstaffed and I faced a very long wait, so just out of curiosity I decided to look at the new Accents - I'd been contemplating a trade-in for a few months but had never found a compelling reason to pursue it. Bob Rischitelli showed me the new Accents and answered all my questions in a straightforward and friendly manner, even though I made it clear at the outset that I was only looking. When I saw a red 2013 Accent I liked, Bob and the business manager (whose name I've forgotten - I'm sorry, Brandon?) crunched the numbers and found that I would be able to trade up for the same monthly payment I had on my 2010. How could I say no? A few hours later, I left with a gorgeous new lipstick-red Accent AND a new 32" TV! Not only was the deal easy and painless, but both Bob and the business manager were friendly and no-pressure - Bob and I even discussed taxes, politics, e-readers, and stories of our experiences in the retail industry while we waited for the new car to be detailed. I've been with Checkered Flag Hyundai for over 10 years and service like this is why - I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else. More

Now we see him its more as a friend than one of your employees. He was very patient and eager to help us. I would recommend to any of my family and friends to Joel and your company. Even your financial guy (the one with the dragon ball haircut) not a hair out of place was a plessure to work with. I usually hate dealing w the finanical people but he was a plessure to work with as well maybe it was the hair but thanks to your great staff for your services.
