Al Flores greeted me with open arms. He made sure no other dealer was helping me out. I told him of our family's needs and he willingly helped me. We walked around Lot 5 and he explained to me about the details of each vehicle. He showed me my top picks. I finally fell in love with a vehicle but my husband was not with me. We went through the financing details. We were not able to finance through a bank bcause of the age and mileage of vehicle, hoever, my parents were going to help me. My parents live in a different state so getting the money took a few days. Al helped us bring the vehicle home with a promissory note tobpay a portion in a couple of days. My wife and I went in to buy a Honda Pilot on a Saturday. We found one we liked and after 6 hours of being at the dealership we finally took it home. They sold us on the Honda Certified program and I even bought the "wrap" warranty. When we got the vehicle home and drove it the following day we noticed that a brake light was out and one of the rear brakes was squeaking. I called Benjamin, our salesman, to address my concerns and he told me to take it to our local dealership. (we live in Newport News) I know the warranties don't cover "wear and tear" items, but considering we notice the problems within 24 hours I figured Checkered Flag would assume responsibility and fix whatever it is free of charge. When I took the Pilot to our local dealership they wanted $60 just to change the lightbulb so I decided to hold off and called Checkered Flag again. I talked to the sales manager, Brandon, and he referred me to Dave, a service advisor. I left a message with Dave and haven't heard back yet. I don't think I'm asking too much to have a bulb replaced and the brakes serviced so they aren't squeaking on a Honda Certified vehicle. Besides this, it is the 3rd Honda in 5 years that we have bought from Checkered Flag so I hope that someone will read this and pass it along to the appropriate person to remedy this situation. Brad Comess and Checkered Flag made buying a new vehical a pleasant experience. When we came in to sign the paperwork everything was ready and waiting for us.
