She took care of me and my 2 day old BMW that unfortunately took on water during the flooding that took place in Norfolk in July. From the minute she called to tell me she was going to be "my person" I knew my car was going to be in great hands and I have not been disappointed! It was difficult not living in the area (I'm in northern VA) but Ashley kept me informed via texts, emails & calls to ensure I knew what was happening every step of the way. If I didn't live 3 hours away you would have a customer for life! More
New management makes all the difference! While we did a one star review on 3/14/17 due to terrible dealings with previous management, we can now give them a 5 star rating due to their new man While we did a one star review on 3/14/17 due to terrible dealings with previous management, we can now give them a 5 star rating due to their new manager, John Hall. He made up for the frustration we experienced with the previous manager. Due to the way he handled the situation, we can happily give them the 5 star rating they now deserve. John Hall made all the difference for us and our opinion of Checkered Flag BMW. More
Excellent Service! I've been using Checkered Flag Mini since I bought my first one in 2004, ... I now also have a 2015. When I got the 2015, Frank was able to advise me I've been using Checkered Flag Mini since I bought my first one in 2004, ... I now also have a 2015. When I got the 2015, Frank was able to advise me on the new features and what he knew I had come to expect and love about my 2004, from a servicing standpoint. I didn't follow one suggestion and regret it, ... and maybe I should have tried that cool color combination, too... but otherwise, I was sensible and took his great advice. The 2015 had a crazy issue with a recent recall, but as usual, Frank Lindsay in service has kept me well informed and taken care of me and my mini throughout the process. I've had a Mini for 13 years and Frank has been there to assist, keep me informed, and dealt with all of my crazy issues with being a coastal ecologist taking the Mini from swamp to shore to cross-country trips (think I have the highest mileage on the 2015 so far). He has set the standard and it is a tough act to follow! Thanks, Frank! More

serious lack of customer service I have used Checkered Flag Toyota for the past 12 years and have always been thoroughly pleased, so I assumed I would have a similar experience at BMW I have used Checkered Flag Toyota for the past 12 years and have always been thoroughly pleased, so I assumed I would have a similar experience at BMW since it is under the same management. I brought my car in to get my sealant done, and was told it would take a couple of hours. After 5 hours I had heard nothing, so I called in and was told my car would not be ready until the next day. Then, after finally getting my car I noticed the paint on my trunk was chipped. I had to play phone tag with the customer service manager for a week before getting the appointment set up for me to come back to have the paint chip fixed ten days later. With no apology, the paint chip was fixed and I was sent on my way. Driving home I smelled paint and looked around and found five paint spots on the interior of my car. I immediately called the customer service manager, who said she would email me but did not, again with no apology. This time it took over three weeks for her to get back with me to set up an appointment, and when I brought it in to the unapologetic crew they tried to convince me that it was actually not paint. I will NEVER be returning to this service center. More

Worst customer service - STAY AWAY I never ever write feedbacks, but I had to for the horrible experience I had. Took my bmw for repair and it was stuck there for over a week. Mainly I never ever write feedbacks, but I had to for the horrible experience I had. Took my bmw for repair and it was stuck there for over a week. Mainly it needed spark plugs and coils change. I had to deal with Courntey and she indicated that she will call me the next day of the drop off to update me with status. She never call nor return back calls. 3 days after the drop off i went to check not the car and she said that they are still working on it. She was not helpful and i felt as she was doing for me a favor !!! I talked to the General manager Jeff Waugh who was not helpful at all and clearly indicated that if i wasn't happy with the service, i can go somewhere else (I should have done that right away). I asked him if I can get a loaner while my car was being fixed. he indicated that he can't do that as all loaners are out (come on now). You would think that a GM would make your life easier, well thats not the case in this dealserhip. I would highly highly recommend other not to take their car there even if you have to drive it 30 min extra for the dealership in newport news- believe its not worth getting any work done in that dealership. DELIBERATE DAMAGE DONE TO MY VEHICLE September 30, 2014 On September 25, 2014, I requested roadside assistance to have my vehicle towed to Checkered Flag BMW at 5225 Virginia Beach Blv September 30, 2014 On September 25, 2014, I requested roadside assistance to have my vehicle towed to Checkered Flag BMW at 5225 Virginia Beach Blvd in Virginia Beach, Virginia in reference to the vehicle not starting when prompted. The tow truck came and the vehicle sat overnight at the dealership for my advisor to check in the following morning. On September 26, 2014, I called BMW Checkered Flag to be certain that I was given a different advisor than the last time I had service performed at this location. A few months back, a technician at BMW told my insurance company, Progressive Auto, that the bolts that support the engine underneath the vehicle were not made to break in event of a collision leading my insurance company to initially deny my insurance claim after road conditions damaged the undercarriage of my vehicle. After speaking with my service advisor at the time, Mr. Lawson, regarding the issue, he began to talk very negatively and unprofessional to me. I notified Ron Clark, a manager, regarding this as well. In return, Mr. Lawson came to me and apologized for his behavior. I called BMW North America to advise them of the issue. Someone from an executive level of management contacted Checkered Flag at that point and made it very clear that in the event of a collision, those bolts were made to break to prevent the engine from coming towards the driver so they shear off to make the engine compartment drop forward. When I spoke to Mr. Lawson, my advisor regarding this, he became extremely hostile telling me that I should have never gone over his head. Finally, after speaking to several technicians regarding the issue, my insurance accepted the claim after a technician and several members of management retracted the statement, and that I had, indeed, been involved in a collision with the road itself. Never in a million years would I think that, following this ordeal, I could never bring my vehicle back to Checkered Flag. So, back to the current: My service advisor contacted me via phone at approximately 3:20pm that afternoon to indicate that I had simply run out of gas and they put five gallons of gas in the vehicle and the vehicle started right up. She indicated that an oil leak was found, (thru a 100 Point World Class Inspection) in which I knew about prior, and that I could come get the vehicle after the courtesy car wash. After that, I waited until 5:15pm to physically come to the service department to inquire about my vehicle, in which Courtney asked me to have a seat in the waiting room. After twenty minutes, she returns and asks me have I ever seen a red thermostat alert on my dash and showed a picture of it on her iPhone. I advise her that no lights or indicators regarding a thermostat or engine were on in my vehicle, and I asked her if she wanted to see the video on my iPhone of what the car was doing that night it stopped with no gas. I am also attaching that video from which I took of my dashboard that very night because I was trying to send my father an indication of what the vehicle was doing before being towed. (When I was simply out of gas). However, Courtney proceeded to tell me that not only was that light on, but my car was overheating while getting the carwash. I asked her why didn’t the technician advise her of this during his inspection of the vehicle and she stated the vehicle did not have the red alert light nor was it overheating at that time. I asked to speak to the technician and she indicated he was not there. I do not know who worked on my vehicle, but it was obviously someone I made very upset the last time I was at Checkered Flag. I went around and around with Courtney as to why she, the advisor, would notice my car overheating all of a sudden and a light coming on the dashboard, but the technician did not. I also spoke, at length, with Ron Clark, the service manager, who could also not tell me why the vehicle was overheating all of a sudden. Courtney indicated that the vehicle had not been doing this earlier that day. Courtney also took it upon herself to state that it may be the water pump, so I asked her for a quote of that and a new thermostat. The car was towed in for it simply being out of gas after travelling from Washington, DC that night, and no lights were on in the vehicle at the time this service advisor called me to tell me I was out of gas at 3:20pm that afternoon, now, at almost 6:00pm, my vehicle is overheating and powering down in the bay of Checkered Flag BMW. I got less than a block down the road before I pulled over and had the vehicle towed to my home. Ron Clark did indicate he would have the vehicle checked, but at that point, I preferred to let someone else check the vehicle, because my suspicion was that someone at Checkered Flag has manipulated my vehicle already, and I voiced that to him. Today, I had the vehicle towed to Indian River Auto and Transmission at 5225 Indian River Rd Ste C in Virginia Beach, Va. The service advisor stated that four fuses that pushed power to the water pump and coolant system were deliberately removed. Not blown, but physically removed. They stated “When the vehicle was checked, we noticed four fuses were totally removed from panel one and one fuse was blown, disabling the safety feature for the Water Pump, resulting in overloading to the power source. A technician at Checkered Flag deliberately removed my fuses. Immediately prior to having the vehicle towed initially, I had just gotten off the road from Washington, DC at 3am. That is when I thought I had gas but apparently, it read wrong and I was out causing me to have it towed directly to Checkered Flag. I have no doubt in my mind that out of retaliation, my fuses were removed causing significant sabotage to my vehicle. Today, I paid $945.654 for a new water pump, thermostat, and fuses/labor in regards to this incident, paid directly to Indian River Auto and Transmission. I am attaching paperwork of what this vehicle service provider stated occurred with the fuses. I do not feel secure bringing my vehicle back to Checkered Flag in Virginia Beach ever again. After what occurred, I would hope that others read this and the technician that worked on the vehicle be terminated. I can only hope that Checkered Flag would have the decency to refund my money for what occurred as a result of the vehicle being left with them. More
Had service done on my 3 series and picked it up with a large scratch on the passenger side wood grain. They did replace it but not before arguing with me that "they were not even inside the passenger side large scratch on the passenger side wood grain. They did replace it but not before arguing with me that "they were not even inside the passenger side of the car." Well SOMEBODY was because the wood grain did not scratch itself. Maybe they were hoping I would drive away without noticing and they wouldn't be liable? Nice try. More
