Saved my life My amazing 2005 Subaru Outback eventually pooped out on me with over 220,000 miles. I went to another local dealer to trade my car in. They were not helpful and would not budge or even get me into an Outback. I called Charlies and was given Mark Eichenbaum as a salesman. He was awesome. Right away and over the phone he got me into a new 2014 Outback. He drove 20 miles to pick me up and bring me to the dealership to get my car. He was so pleasant and his voice and demeanor were so comforting...I knew I was going to be taken care of. About a month later I decided I wanted to upgrade my car to the next level. Mark helped make that transition quick,easy and possible. Along with the help of Doug Jurdak, the store manager and Brad Laliberte, the sales manager and Kasey DiBenedetti, the finance manager....my visit and experience was top rated. I would recommend Charlies to everyone. Thanks guys. = ) More

Other dealerships were vague about my trade-in value, final price, and what was available. My latest purchase a 2015 Forester was straightforward, no doubletalk, good trade-in value up front, and fair price. Everyone uses the internet these days and the mystery of new car buying is gone. No one wants to be taken advantage of. I'd like to revisit the other dealerships now and explain to them why they lost my business. Charlie's did it right. My complements! After all the good and mostly bad things you hear about car salesmen, it was a surprise to deal with someone that did not fit the negative car salesmen stereo type. I feel I am a fairly educated and competent consumer. And I know the dealer, salesmen etc. need to make some kind of financial progress. So it was great to go there and not feel that they were just after my wallet. Mark was patient and understanding, not pushy, listened and did what we felt was his best in helping pick what we could afford and suited our prerequisites. The rest of the Charlie's dealer staff was as pleasent and helpful as can be. When the time comes for another car, I will return to these same people. More

Salesman at the Subaru dealership was very sharp on the details on the vehicles. The sales manager okay but the finance manager was very rude, very condescending and made it quite clear it was his way or the highway. We chose the highway. We hung a left and headed to Evergreen Subaru. Now have 2 of their vehicles in our driveway More
We knew we wanted an Outback and we knew what we wanted to pay. We stopped into Charlie's and 2 hours later we were driving home in our new Outback it was the color and had all the options we wanted and t to pay. I was looking at a Subaru Forester in the showroom while waiting for my 2005 Subaru Legacy to be fixed. I am a 73-year-old woman. Most of the young to middle-aged salesmen in the showroom just ignored me, waiting for my 2005 Subaru Legacy to be fixed. I am a 73-year-old woman. Most of the young to middle-aged salesmen in the showroom just ignored me, as they had the last several times I had been in. Mark was smart enough and experienced enough to ascertain that I might be seriously interested, and thus he approached me. I told him I would be buying my last car sometime in the coming year. I also told him that I carefully read Consumer Reports every month (since the mid 60's) and knew that the newest issue (just out) had given the Forester a very good rating. I also explained that I was now interested in the Forester because the current Legacy had grown too large for my garage doors. He listened to me and did not try to argue with me about anything. He gave me a test drive and showed me the tight turning radius, which I liked. His was a very soft but informed sell, and in another hour or so I had decided to go ahead and buy the car now instead of waiting for a year. I also firmly said I wanted a red car, not white, black, or dark blue. They went overnight to Vermont to bring back a lovely red one. Mark has also been exceptionally helpful, even down to putting on the new license plates once I had gotten them. He has spent a fair amount of time (most of the first day) demonstrating and explaining all the new features on this car that definitely did not exist in 2005. We are a Subaru family, having had at least one Subaru since they first came to Maine, and sometimes two or three. I can't imagine driving anything else in Maine. I also like the Subaru service department very much. Since I am a radical feminist, it pleases me that it is run very well by competent females. And it is clean and comfortable, and equipped with food and drink. More

Every salesman should be as knowledgeable as Mark and as personable. What a great experience. George, the sales manager, was exceptional to deal with also. The finance person who did the paperwork was very thorough and explained everything well also. I wish to recognize people behind the scenes also that made everything happen so quickly. What a great team. I don't think I could drive by the dealership and not stop in and say hello. It is a family!! More
My experience with Charlies Subaru was a good one. I went looking for a car and they did there best to get me into a car that would work well for me. the length of time that it takes to go in and find went looking for a car and they did there best to get me into a car that would work well for me. the length of time that it takes to go in and find what you are looking for takes a bit longer than I like but they did do everything they could to get me what I wanted for a car and into the payment that I was comfortable with. I am definitely going back for my next car. More
I was looking to purchase a new vehicle late last year, and I researched cars and dealerships available in my area. I found some acceptable deals, but I wasn’t entirely happy. My cousin suggested I look in and I researched cars and dealerships available in my area. I found some acceptable deals, but I wasn’t entirely happy. My cousin suggested I look into Charlie’s Motor Mall in Augusta. This cousin has bought cars there for years, for himself and for his daughter. I went to check it out. Because I do a lot of driving in all weather, I wanted an all-wheel drive vehicle, and I decided on a Subaru, since these vehicles offer excellent all-wheel drive and traction control even on the most basic models. Heated seats come standard on all models, too, whereas you need to go over $35,000 to get all-wheel and heated seats from most manufacturers. I went to Charlie’s website and started a dialog with sales. I met sales rep Mark Eichenbaum through email, and he assured me that they had just the vehicle I was looking for. I went down to look at the car, a 2014 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Premium, and Mark walked me around it explaining all its many features. There was a lot I knew about the car already, but Mark more than just filled in a few blanks for me, and he was able to answer every question I had in as much detail as I needed. After a test drive, I knew it was for me, if the price was right. Later, Mark got the finance people involved, and they all went the extra mile for me. I decided to give the dealership financing a shot, and when I wasn’t happy with the first bank’s offer the finance department submitted the loan request to other banks and credit unions that they work through. I was a tough customer to satisfy, and I began to think that no bank would agree to the terms I was willing to put up. But Mark and finance wouldn’t quit, and after contacting nearly 20 banks an offer was agreed upon that everyone was happy with. Mark then helped me to hook up the Bluetooth in the vehicle, walking me through the process. I drove away a happy customer. Since then I’ve gotten the first oil change, and, again, the service was excellent. I called the service department one morning when I had to be in Augusta anyway, and they said ‘sure, bring it in in an hour and we can get it back to you in 45 minutes’. It was done. Very nice. I have no complaints about the any department at Charlie’s, nor about the vehicle. I recommend them. More
Charlie's Subaru in Augusta is the best place to buy a vehicle. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and very honest. I was fortunate to have Mark "Baggler" as the sales associate the night I bought by Crosstrek. My fiance' and I were very impressed with his patience and willingness to go above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied with my purchase. The buying process, though lengthy, was made easy and effortless (and occasionally comedic) by Baggler and other Charlie's personnel. I drove off the lot with the perfect car and feeling extremely satisfied with my experience at Charlie's. I have shopped around other dealerships for many months now, and by far the best experience was at Charlie's in Augusta. Tony, in finance, lightened the documentation portion of the evening by saying, "Congratulations, you just spent a whole lot of money." He was, in fact correct, however it was the best money I have ever spent. I plan to return to Charlie's for as many oil changes as possible and for whatever maintenance necessary to keep my Crosstrek running like new for it's entire life. I think it makes a statement when I will travel 4 hours to a specific dealer/service center because of the service and environment at Charlie's. I cannot say enough about Baggler and Charlie's in general. Good people, great service, fabulous cars. More
