When I was looking to purchase a new car I stopped at Charles Gabus to look at their pricing and vehicle inventory. I walked around the parking lot for around 30 minutes looking at cars and actually wal Charles Gabus to look at their pricing and vehicle inventory. I walked around the parking lot for around 30 minutes looking at cars and actually walked through a group of sales people standing in a group talking. After looking at a few more cars, I walked back towards the sales people who begin to split up from their group. Several walked into the building and began looking out the windows for potential customers. I never even received as much hello from any of them. I purchased a car from them in 2005 and it was a pretty decent experience. However, after a previous unfavorable experience with them in 2008 and now with this latest episode, I will never even waste my gas to drive to their dealership. I'm not sure who is in charge now that Charles Gabus is gone, but I was not impressed. More
I had purchased a 2009 Fusion from Napoleon sometime around November of 2008. I had a great experience with him and Charles Gabus that time; however, I just returned there in March of 2011 looking to s around November of 2008. I went inside and asked for Napoleon and the front desk person stated he would be right up. Well, it was more like 15 minutes before he came up. I stated what I was interested in and he did show me what they had. We went and test drove the car, but anytime I had a question, he was very cold and really didnt want to answer my questions. At first I didnt think anything of it. We then went down to his office to see what kind of deal we could come to and this is where his true colors showed through!! He asked me what I was looking for in payments and I told him, then he asked to go look at my Fusion. When he came back, he wrote some info down and went out of the office. When he came back, he slapped down a sheet of paper and said, "This is what we can get your payments at, plus or minus." I asked what do you mean by "plus or minus"? He just glared at me and proceeded to tell me it would depend. Well, I was a little confused and shocked that he was acting like this!! Then he received a personal phone call while working with me and then all of a sudden a deacon from his church shows up and also proceeded to glare at me for over 15-20 minutes. Napoleon just kept coming up with reasons and excuses as to why they couldn't give me more for my trade and why they couldn't lower the payment. After becoming frustrated and completely uncomfortable, I proceeded to leave! I have contacted Ford about him and Charles Gabus and how they really like to "treat" people. Like the other people on here have posted...Gabus draws you in with their #1 Ford Dealer in Iowa, price and selection crap, but once you buy from them, they dont want anything to do with you. As I stated earlier, my first experience was great, so I wanted to give them my business again, but after this, I will NEVER go to Gabus again!!!! BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More
Pat Crane was professional, courteous, and friendly to work with. The dealership treated me fairly on the value of my trade in. We've bought from Pat before, and will continue to buy from him as long as he's around. I've never really enjoyed buying a car, what with all the games dealers used to play. This was the first car I have attempted to buy with financing, and after the horror stories I have heard about buying a car through a dealership, I was pleasantly suprised at the ease and comfort of th financing, and after the horror stories I have heard about buying a car through a dealership, I was pleasantly suprised at the ease and comfort of the experance we had. We first looked at a 2010 Chevy Impala, and requested information about it online. When we went to go look at it, we had already done the research and had determined how much we were able to spend. I was prepared to argue our salesperson on what we could afford. Instead, he was prepared with options within our price range, and asked us questions as to what types of cars we would be comfortable looking at. He was polite, friendly and most importantly he was sincere. Although we did not buy the 2010 Chevy Impala, due to his help in offering alternatives, we were able to buy a car I had been wanting for many years, but did not think I would be able to afford. The vehicle itself was in outstanding condition, and after researching it on Kelly Blue Book, I found that it was reasonably priced and I was happy with the price at which we paid. It also fit into the budget we had already set. After choosing the vehicle we were notified within an hour and a half that I was approved. When I went to sign the papers, our sales person took the time to greet us, although he was busy with another guest. The finance manager who assisted me with signing the papers was polite, and encouraged me to ask any questions I could think of. I had also brought along my nine year old son, and he took the time to talk to him about his favorite subject, Star Wars. The gentleman who took us to the vehicle was friendly and very helpful. He also offered to take a picture of me and my son with our new car, which thrilled my son. After I brought our car home, I still received emails thanking me and giving best wishes with the car. My overall experiance was one of mutual respect and gratitude. I have already been spreading the word about the wonderful experiance we had, and will not buy a vehicle from anyone else from now on. When I pulled into department I was immediately greated by a service advisor. He opened the door and helped me out of the car, thouroughly checked tire pressure, tire wear, advised me I needed a tire rotat by a service advisor.
