I've heard mostly bad reviews/opinions on Chapman VW, mostly to deal with price and declining to warranty parts. We bought a used '08 VW GTI in May of 2010 and just took it in for it's 20k service that t mostly to deal with price and declining to warranty parts. We bought a used '08 VW GTI in May of 2010 and just took it in for it's 20k service that they quoted $390 for... basically a glorified oil change which I'm already OVER-paying for but god forbid you do oil changes anywhere else then try to get warranty work done at your dealer... Also had a recall serviced, something to do with the DSG transmission (metatronic something). Scott looked it up real quick and ordered the part and called me the following week to schedule me. They had the vehicle for the day and had Enterprise pick me up at the dealership to get my rental which turned out to be a 2010 VW Jetta, so glad we got a GTI. Scott was friendly and from the reviews I've read on here he and a woman that works there are the two people to go to for your service needs. The whole dealership is under construction right now (Dec 2010) but I still had quick service and not much of a hassle. If the price of an oil change wasn't so damn high I'd be using this dealership for everything but then I'd be broke. I'll be taking the GTI to Chapman for all warranty work but not the oil changes. This is the third VW I am leasing from this dealership and this is the first time that I did not feel "ripped off" after I brought the car in for inspection. First, the dealership denied that any recall applied to my car or that it was too old to be eligible for recall work. After it relented, then the employee misrepresented what was covered by the recall a my car or that it was too old to be eligible for recall work. The dealership offered me no rental car for the time that the work was being done. The work went very slowly (now about 10 days after the car was left). The dealership had suggested that the work would be done early this week, and not until Thursday did they call to tell me that the work was running late. I have had many problems with this dealership and try to avoid bringing any repair work there. I did in this case only because, as far as I know, they are the only local VW dealership, and the work was under a recall. More

SCOTT EXPLAINED EXACTY WHAT HAD TO BE DONE TO THE CAR; WHAT IT WOULD COST; AND WHY IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTE. MY LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS BLEW OUT AND I HAD A DASH RATTLE WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE LOOSE WHAT IT WOULD COST; AND WHY IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTE. MY LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS BLEW OUT AND I HAD A DASH RATTLE WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE LOOSE BOLTS OF THE AIR BAG RETAINING BAR. SCOTT KEPT ME INFORMED AS TO THE PROGRESS OF THE CAR AND OFFERED A FREE WASH WHEN THE CAR WAS DONE. I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP AROUND 7 A.M. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK IN JUST A FEW MINUTES. THEY REQUIRED A COUPLE OF HOURS TO FIX THE PROBLEM (SOMETIMES RATTLES CAN BE DIFFICULT) AND FIXED IT THE FIRST TIME AROUND. THERE WAS A COMFORTABLE WAITING ROOM FOR SERVICE CUSTOMERS. BECAUSE IT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE DAY, I BELIEVE THERE WERE ONLY TWO CUSTOMERS SO I RECEIVED GREAT SERVICE. THE SHOWROOM OF VW IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION SO THERE REALLY WASN'T ANY PLACE THE LOOK AT THE NEW CARS. More
Sammie Boykin and Chapman VW service is excellent. The work is always done correctly the first time and their attention to detail is fitting for a persnickety Volkswagen owner.
