I’d like to thank Chapmen Las Vegas for having my Jeep 5 going on 6 out of 8 weeks. Sorry this is a very long rant. On Jan 25th my Jeep over heated on the freeway and the engine light came on. It was towed going on 6 out of 8 weeks. Sorry this is a very long rant. On Jan 25th my Jeep over heated on the freeway and the engine light came on. It was towed in and several days later I was told it was an oil leak, so they changed the oil pan seal and drain plug, cleared the check engine light and test drove it. The check engine light came on again and it was determined there was a cam sensor issue - so that was replaced, cleared the code and test drove it, again the engine light came on but they couldn’t figure out why so they call Jeep directly. They determine my cams need replaced. (Side not, I call the service advisor, leave my name and phone number and he calls mike who then calls and relays the message to me, so I call the advisor back and he tells me, didn’t Mike tell you all of this? - to which I reply yes but I’m the one who called you and his response is well I just told him all of this - like I’m not smart enough to understand mechanical issues). So now they contact the extended warranty co that an examiner will need to come out and check it out, but that won’t happen for a couple of days. Once he comes out they take the jeep for a test drive and can’t recreate the issue so they finally give it back to me. (My extended warranty covered 5 days of rental car up to $175 and the tow. I had to pay the deductible.). It was there for 3 weeks. 10 days later to the day my jeep over heats on the freeway, engine light comes on and it goes into limp mode, this time. I have it towed back to them and again, I call the advisor to check on the jeep and he calls mike to tell him the water bump lower bolts backed themselves out and caused the coolant to leak out. (Who knew these little boogers could do that all on their own). And there’s no way it was because the mechanic forgot to put loc tight on them and tighten them up when it was there 10 days ago. Again I called the advisor and he says I told Mike all of this, didn’t he tell you. Oh he told me but I called you and I’d like to know why this is my responsibility? Oh because the water pump is on the front of the motor and we didn’t do anything near that. So I pay the $265, plus the $80 tow and the 5 days of car rental. A little over a week later, I’m driving to work and guess what?, the jeep over heats and immediately goes into limp mode on the freeway. I pull over and call for a tow and immediately call the service advisor to let him know the jeep will be there soon and to please call me. 4 days later, a call to the service manager and an email to the service director, the service advisor calls me, I felt so honored. Ms Wallace we did a leak down test, that’s where we….. yes Mr. Advisor I’m aware what that is…. You have a crack in your # 1 cylinder… that where the…. I know what a cylinder is… ok and your crank case is also cracked. Really… so you didn’t do a leak down test like you told Mike you were going to do when it was there a week ago, oh we never said we were doing that. But you said because it overheated, you wanted to make sure I hadn’t damanged the block. (💡 so that’s why I call you and you call Mike, so you can play he said she said). He says they did a couple videos and have sent them to the extended warranty co and are waiting for them to determine if they will cover it but it’ll take a day or so but I’ll call you when I hear from them. 2 days later I call him… oh the rep came out that day and because of the cost he has to send it to his superior for authorization and that’ll take a couple of days. I called the extended warranty co the next day and they tell me they will expedite it. The next day the service writer contacts me and tells me the extended warranty co isn’t going to cover it because I was sold the jeep as a certified preowned and that Warranty should take precedence, but for some reason, our service department canceled it a year ago, by someone who doesn’t work here anymore. As we pull a 17,000 lbs fifth wheel, this was an important item to get corrected. He completed both recall items plus the other repairs all in one day. Fantastic service!
