Loss of trust I took my Ford Escape to Chapman Ford of Lancaster on June 2, 2020 to have it inspected. I always have my Escape serviced here and this is where I pur I took my Ford Escape to Chapman Ford of Lancaster on June 2, 2020 to have it inspected. I always have my Escape serviced here and this is where I purchased it in 2012. My car passed inspection, including the brakes, but it needed some other work which I had done. A few days later I drove my car about 20 miles and when I got home my right front tire was smoking and the it was very hot. I called Chapman and brought the car back to have it checked out at the next available time. I didn't drive it because I was afraid something terrible was wrong. I was told they drove it and checked it out and couldn't find anything wrong and I was charged $68. I still felt something was wrong with my car. The steering wheel would shimmy at times and I felt like something was holding the car back. I drove my daughter and granddaughters to Hershey park on July 2 and my daughter could tell something was wrong with my car. I told her the whole story and she said she didn't care what Chapman said my steering wheel should not shimmy and it didn't seem to be driving right. I called again and took my Escape back on July 7 and was told the brakes were so bad they had to be replaced and the brake pads would not last 6 months. The total cost would be over $1000. I asked why my brakes passed inspection on June 2 and were so bad now. I didn't get a good explanation. I think something was not replaced properly when my car was in for inspection and it caused all of this damage. I kept telling them it was not right since June 2. This is very hard for me to write because I always felt good about taking my car to Chapman but now I can't shake this feeling of mistrust. I don't know what I am going to do now for future car repairs. Jerry Deshong did take the $68 off of my last bill and I do appreciate that. More
Tufano got me fast service I needed tire pressure sensors replaced but had to drop off to be done next day. Only problem was i needed it by 2 pm. Service was excellent and very fast, which is appreciated. Also appreciated the Covid safety measures enforced in the facility. I have been going to this dealership since 1999 with 3 cars so I have a history with them. For the most part , I was treated fairly and with respect , the maintenance provided to my vehicles is top notch cars so I have a history with them.
