He and Craig Drew facilitated my resolution with the dealership from whom I had acquired the trade-in vehicle. (The other dealer was also very gracious in meeting me halfway.) He took the time to explain and discuss every line of the contract and loan with me. I never had a feeling of a pushy salesman or 5that he was trying to up-sell me on a truck. When it came down to it he delivered an even better truck than I had originally thought of buying for the same price. Very relaxed and polite salesperson I had been looking for a truck for a couple weeks and my wife saw one here at this dealership. My wife had previously purchased a 2008 Yukon about 3 I had been looking for a truck for a couple weeks and my wife saw one here at this dealership. My wife had previously purchased a 2008 Yukon about 3 years ago at this dealership so he was looking here at Central Maine Motors online so that is where I ended up yesterday. I had been to Varney's in Bangor earlier in the week and had a poor experience there. I had questioned the sales person and the service tech about GMC and GM's in general having an oil burning issue, and was told that yes some do burn up to one quart between oil changes. I did not think this was accurate for every truck. But by then I was running close to my next appointment across the street at Quirks to look at a 2015 Dodge Laramie. When I told the Varney salesman I was about to get going across the street he got all excited animated and loud. He said, "why would you look at a Dodge? I just showed you a nice GMC Sierra ? Dodges are junk compared to GM's. I said I like the Dodge's interior better and I want to drive it now. He stood up a hollered to another person a salesman or finance man not sure? he may have had the last name of Varney? He came over and started berating me about how cheap Dodges are and basically making fun of me for going across the street. He then said " I heard you had some questions about burning oil in the GMC's?" I told him what I had read and he said" I will tell you this, ever truck on my lot will burn one quart of oil for every 1000 mile you drive it!" I just sat there an waited for him to realize what he just said,....Then he went on to explain that's how GM's get 200,000 mile out of an engine "they build them loose" And the being built loose burn lots of oil. I asked so if I drive that GMC 5000 miles i will be 5 quarts low on oil? He said yea but it holds 8 quarts so that's ok you will be fine....Then I just laughed in his face and got up and left. What a joker. The sales person at Quirk was very nice and polite but I decided against the dodge as it had been a plow truck and had more miles than I wanted , so I thanked the young man his name is Darren and left. That night my wife saw a 2015 Chevy Colorado Z-71 4X4 at Central Maine Motors in Waterville. So the next afternoon we went down to Central Maine Motors to look at the Colorado. We met with Kurt (Bubba ) Nivison,.... with a nick-name like bubba I didn't know what to expect ! Kurt turned out to be very pleasant and helpful we tried a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4, a 2016 Toyota Tundra 4x4 and the 2015 Colorado. Of the three the Colorado and the GMC were the two I was most interested in. After one more test drive we settled in on the Colorado and went inside, I had a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited to trade in. I got what I knew to be a very fair price for my Hyundai and the price of the Colorado was already fair so we came to an agreement in about 15 minutes. Kurt aka(Bubba) was new to this dealership but seemed to get along well with everyone there. He told me he planned on staying there for a long time, he said he liked the way Central Maine Motors did business. I was satisfied and that's the end really,.. we took the truck home. I had some issues with On Star and I discovered the Lumbar support on my side does not work. I called them last evening and we are making arrangements to get these issues taken care of so,..so far so good Thanks Bubba! , Jeff in Hartland Me. More
