I came to Central Houston Nissan in response to REPEATED advertisements for year end sales and deals. The dealership advertisement said they would do whatever it takes to earn our business online. Your guy advertisements for year end sales and deals. The dealership advertisement said they would do whatever it takes to earn our business online. Your guy Rigo, in used car sales (management?), believes customers are not allowed to ask questions, add, subtract or challenge on their own, when it comes to the dealerships numbers, but gets amnesia or better yet, forgets how to add when it comes to the customers incentives. I had to correct him twice when it came down to the determined value of my vehicle plus the 3k dollar dealer incentive. I already knew what was going on but I played along. So, I decided to play along back. I wanted to help Rigo so that he understood I knew what was going on. They try to get you familiar with incorrect numbers so that they can pencil them in. The more money the company makes, by hook or by crook, the more money we/ consumers lose. This is poor and unprofessional practice as an employee of Nissan. I know the dealership has to make money, I’m ok with that, but I don’t like being played for a fool over a car I don’t need. As a customer, I’m also ok with not agreeing on a deal, but when you significantly overvalue cars you’re selling and undervalue ours, I/ we feel cheated. Rigo represented himself as a military man but didn’t know his own army creed claiming he forgot so I had to remind him as an Air Force Veteran, not Army. I’m not sure about the military status of this guy. At the conclusion of my visit, because I refused to accept the inflated numbers on the sales transaction, he calls me by way of Desmond the sales representative and decides to tell me he doesn’t want our business if I don’t take their deal and hangs up on me. I feel sorry for employees like Desmond and the like who must make a living in this kind of environment. He will eventually become what he sees practiced if he has not already done so. Unfortunately, I'm sure he has. I saw some shadiness in Desmond as well, but I overlooked it because he's just a messenger and employee. I really don't think auto sales was intended to be like this. I need a REAL MANAGER to call me asap and apologize because I will no longer be doing business with Central Houston Nissan Used Car Sales. More
Beware of Misleading Pricing Tactics at Central Houston Nissan I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Central Houston Nissan that I feel compelled to share. My interaction with this d Nissan I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Central Houston Nissan that I feel compelled to share. My interaction with this dealership was centered around a 2020 Honda Civic Sport (Stock#: P9603), advertised at a price of $21,870 on Auto Trader. From the onset, the dealership presented itself as customer-focused, boasting of quality vehicles and exceptional service. However, my experience was far from their advertised vision and mission. After speaking with several sales agents and much back-and-forth, I was finally given a final price - a baffling $24,400. This was significantly higher than the advertised price, with no clear justification for the increase. When I inquired about the discrepancy, the explanation I received was not only unsatisfactory but also misleading. I was told that the price listed on Auto Trader was a wholesale price, a detail conveniently omitted from the advertisement and one that was never clarified during our initial discussions. Furthermore, I was informed that this 'wholesale price' was exclusive to dealers, rendering me ineligible for the advertised price. This practice, in my view, is a classic example of bait-and-switch tactics, where a lower price is advertised to draw customers in, only to be switched to a higher price at the point of sale. It is misleading and, frankly, unacceptable for a dealership that claims to prioritize customer satisfaction and transparency. While I am not in a position to formally accuse Central Houston Nissan of breaking specific laws, it's clear that their advertising and sales practices are highly questionable and deserve scrutiny. As a potential buyer, I felt misled and undervalued. This experience has significantly diminished my trust in their business practices and commitment to customer service. To fellow consumers: exercise caution and vigilance when dealing with Central Houston Nissan. It's essential to be aware of the possibility of such pricing tactics and to ensure that you have all the necessary information before making a purchase decision. Certainly. When discussing legal precedents related to false advertising, it's important to understand the general legal framework that governs these practices. In the United States, false advertising is regulated at both the federal and state levels. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is the primary agency that oversees and enforces advertising laws and guidelines. Key Legal Precedents and Laws Governing False Advertising: 1. **Federal Trade Commission Act (FTC Act)**: This act prohibits unfair or deceptive acts in commerce, which includes advertising. Under the FTC Act, an advertisement is considered deceptive if it contains a statement or omits information that: - Is likely to mislead consumers acting reasonably under the circumstances; and - Is "material" - that is, important to a consumer's decision to buy or use the product. 2. **Lanham Act**: This act provides a civil lawsuit avenue for businesses harmed by false advertising. If a company's advertising falsely misrepresents its own product or a competitor's, the competitor can sue for damages under the Lanham Act. 3. **State Consumer Protection Laws**: Most states have their own laws against deceptive advertising, often enforced by the state's attorney general. These laws can vary but generally follow the principles set by the FTC. 4. **Case Law**: Various court cases have helped define what constitutes false advertising. For instance, the case of *POM Wonderful LLC v. Coca-Cola Co.* (2014) highlighted the importance of truthful representation in product labeling. 5. **Bait-and-Switch Advertising**: This specific type of false advertising is where a company advertises a product at a low price to attract customers but then pressures them to purchase a more expensive item. This practice is generally considered deceptive unless the advertisement clearly and conspicuous More

First, let's start with if only I had read the reviews before coming to this dealership, I wouldn't have wasted my time. And I advise that whoever is looking to purchase a vehicle to skip out on visiting before coming to this dealership, I wouldn't have wasted my time. And I advise that whoever is looking to purchase a vehicle to skip out on visiting this dealership. Trust, when I say you'll be doing yourself a favor. The feedback from this dealership to the negative reviews are comical and ingenious! All they're going to do is copy & paste and state "we would like to send your feedback to our upper management team" yea yea whatever that means. I'm here to tell you that their "upper management team" couldn't care less and HAS NOT reviewed a xxxx thing. Because like many others before me and I'm pretty sure after me, has and will continue to share the same bad experiences. Which I am quite sure is not a coincidence. THIS DEALERSHIP PRACTICES ARE NOT ETHICAL AND ARE IMMORAL! Like most of us, I am in the market for a vehicle. But like some of us, I refuse to allow any dealership to gouge me and fall for the foolishness. And let me tell you, this dealership is on some high-level octane foolishness. They refuse to honor their advertised price listed online because of what reasons, NONE! They will tell you a bunch of nonsense, in hopes of you being born yesterday. They also stated that all of the xx add-ons and services that they offered! Key word OFFERed! were on the car already and CAN NOT be removed some how! In addition, these add-ons and services are not a part of the listed pricing. And to pour salt on the wound, in the middle of war because that's what it feels like just trying to get a fair deal! Supposedly the car was SOLD! Can you image sitting for hours on in trying to work out a deal on a vehicle for the LISTED PRICE, only to get told that the car was sold! So unprofessional and in disregard of people's time. But that's not the worst of it, they lied about selling the car because minutes later they then tried to up sale me on the vehicle, stating if I could out bid the other guys' price then the car would be sold to me. That was the straw that broke the camel's back and I left. But the horror doesn't stop there, the next day the car was still listed on their website but now for at a EVEN LOWER PRICE! xxx! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! If you are in search of a great deal or even a good deal, I mean xxxx just a fair deal. This is not the dealership. They will do everything in their power to exploit you and take full advantage of you, in the cost of maximizing their profitability. That is their main GOAL and that's it! So in conclusion, STAY AWAY! PLEASE! More
My friends all had great experiences there for years. So I figured why not go and get a good experience as well. That was not the case. My saleswoman Tina was nice and friendly however, we went test driving. We stopped at a store she went in and came back with a Grape Four Loco. We thought it was a grape soda with no ice however maybe 30 mins later we learned differently. We test drove two vehicles then was offered our 2015 Rogue. We asked could we see it and they informed us it was being serviced and we could not see it that night but assured us it was good. I fought myself for paying for a vehicle that I didn’t see and test drove. Two days later TINA called stated she felt ill when it was time to come pick up the vehicle. The owner put brand new tires on the truck when we came to pick it up and got in our brand new vehicle the air blew but not as cold. We verbalized our concern and was told that it would get cooler. Today our tags came in and we asked to check the air again; so we got a diagnostic on the vehicle and was told the compressor was completely out, something was wrong with our shock suspension and all four brake linings. Mind you we’ve only had the vehicle a month. We did buy the car As IS however the only thing that was told once picking up the vehicle was that the driver back door had a dent in it. When asked to speak to the Manager he was like it’s AS IS from the front desk clerk. He never came and spoke to us. Today I learned two things. Trust my instinct ask a full detail of what is AS IS ( the precise details) and THAT CENTRAL NISSAN IS FULL OF xxxx!!! I won’t RECOMMEND THEM to a homeless needy person. More
