As to sales department. I leased my 2011 Sonata from Atlantic Hyundai, now I remember why. I live in Islandia and Mid-Island is closer but when I went to buy/lease my vehicle I was not happy to find ou Atlantic Hyundai, now I remember why. I live in Islandia and Mid-Island is closer but when I went to buy/lease my vehicle I was not happy to find out the selection was less than expected. As to service, my check engine light was on and the car seemed to be hesitating. I made an appointment to bring the car in the following week. A day or two went by and on my way to work my car was really acting hesitant, I was afraid something was really wrong. Being I work right next store to a Meinike I left it with them to check the reason. They said it was something to do with the transmission (under warranty) , printed the service report for me and included codes. I went to the dealer the next day and was told that because the codes were clear it could not be serviced, until the engine light went back on and was stored in the vehicle so the computer at the dealership could read it. I was told to come back when it came back on and that I DID NOT need an appointment. I was also told it would take 15 minutes to diagnose. I went to the service department on 7/9/12 = 10:30 am & was told I could wait. I explained I had to go to work later in the day @ 3:00 pm. I was told I would be taken care of next. Being that I did not have an appointment I could understand the 1 hour wait for them to pull the car onto the lift. Then after another hour, I asked what was the problem, and I was given a vague answer. The service advisor said that he could have a ride arranged, but when I told him I needed to go the Islip, he said I could wait. I asked numerous times if I should come back another day because I needed to be at work at 3:00 pm. I was re-assured they would check to see if the part was in stock, 25 minutes later I inquired again, yes the part was in stock and it would take about 30 minutes to repair. I gave them my cell # as I needed to get something to eat and asked them to call me when the car was ready. I was told it would be worked on immediately and I would be out before 2:15. I never received a call and walked back to Hyundai. My car was still on the lift and was still being worked on. I expressed my dismay as I had to be at the job appointment by 3:00 and I still had to go home, change and get documents before driving to East Islip. By 3:00 pm, I was now getting frustrated, angry, etc. Had I know the amount of time this service would take I would have come back another day. The service was the worst experience I have had at this dealership. I will never return. I will never purchase anything from them again, so please do not send me coupons, promotions, etc. I give this service/dealership a thumbs down. More
My experience with Mid Island Hyundai was a very pleasant one. Upon arriving their I was extremely nervous because I wasn't sure if I would qualify for a new car. The salesman Anthony Hili was very understanding of my situation and took the time to see what I was qualified for, made me feel very comfortable and found a deal that was perfect for me. I was able to leave that day with a brand new Elantra. Anthony was professional and very thorough in explaining everything to me about the car right down to setting up my bluetooth. I would highly recommend this dealership and Anthony to anyone I know. More

The sales rep, Jonh Hertlein, was very professional and courteous. He explained all features of the car and considered my conerns over what I can afford as a payment. Both John and TJ were very helpful in my purchase of my new Elantra. Several other employees also took the time to help explain my new car's features and to assist in other ways. When my car was ready to be picked up, Ken sat in the car with me and showed me what all of the controls were. He programmed channels that I had selected into my Sirius Radio. Best of all he synced my smart with me and showed me what all of the controls were. He programmed channels that I had selected into my Sirius Radio. Best of all he synced my smart phone with the blue tooth in the car. Ken is a terrific salesman, friendly and professional, and because of him, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mid Island Hyundai.
