With the exception of Limited Edition vehicles, we are happy to work with and entertain an offer from any of our customers. We cannot negotiate or waive taxes or motor vehicle fees however, they are state mandated and we require a motor vehicle license if you are to purchase the vehicle wholesale to process your own MV work. We also cannot negotiate documentary fees, as they are fixed. Mr. Paschold, the business you worked for ordered this vehicle, the point of contact at the company we spoke with when canceling the order was not you. Ford, not Downs Ford has a very strict ordering policy. The Consumer Order Verification Process monitors both who ordered the vehicle and who took delivery of the vehicle to ensure order integrity. When orders get cancelled, it is an extremely difficult task to get an exception, and furthermore it jeopardizes our ability to obtain future allocation. This is again, why we are so strict in the process we take when ordering a vehicle. Additionally, the COVP program provides customers with price protection, and since you were not the customer who ordered the car, you were not eligible for price protection, hence the vehicle being more expensive. Yes, when first offered there was a $2,995 protection package on the vehicle which provides valuable paint, interior, key, and anti-theft protection. We took this charge off and offered you the vehicle for MSRP, but since there was no price protection the vehicle was still more. I can assure you my staff has been more the accommodating in this matter, including Joe. Joe did not create COVP, he enforces it. I also called you, and left you my personal cell phone number, you opted not to return my call. Instead, you decided to take this to social media in attempt to harm our reputation, which is really quite disappointing considering your close relationship with Tom, one of our legacy principals. I am sure he would be disappointed as well. The price increase and lack of price protection on your order was beyond our control as again you were not the original consumer. We wish you well in your future vehicle purchase and servicing at the Ford Dealer you choose. Sincerely, Robert Avison.

*****UPDATE***** I find it so highly ironic, that you will publicly defame me and my dealership for offering to sell you a car at MSRP minus the price protection you were not entitled to, but you listed MY vehicle for sale on the "Jersey Shore Buy Sell Trade" page found on Facebook on July 6th for $75,000! So you were going to sell the truck you bought from me for $20,000 over MSRP?!?!? However you want to take to social media and defame the dealer because we presumptively had a mark up? How does that work? You listed a car for sale that did not belong to you, you personally never had a buyers order for it... What if you had an interested party, what would you have done. I am alerting META, Ford, seek advisement that a vehicle that was in our inventory, and belonged to us was listed for sale by a party who had no claim to the vehicle. I have the listing saved for our records. Wow, that's a Huge double standard. Thank you...

Defam, no presenting details of why a deal gone bad. My sales person Maria said in an email after checking with someone I could buy the truck personally, for sticker price, so I then brought my trade in for evaluation. Later calling me I needed to call Joe before coming back, his first offer was $7 k over sticker then $2995. Please check to verify when the deposit has been refunded to the company, my memory believes it was refunded back in late November early December 2021, I'm Not at all disputing that the deposit was Not returned. In follow up conversation with her, she said the trade in value was firm, at which point I said the up fit costs, plus the extra $ 2995 , plus low trade in appraisal wouldn't work for me ( personally ) The issue I have with Downs is very simple. Maria first saying I could buy for sticker, after checking with someone, Joe B first $ 7 k bump and the follow up bump of 2995 is unacceptable to a first time customer or returning customer. Most likely the market has softened, demand dropping if these are selling at sticker at other dealers. You now mention my FB posting, and my greed, when most dealers for the last 2 years and still jack up prices 5, 10, 15 , 20.k on thousands and thousands of cars and trucks, guess I took notice and wanted some of it, on one deal for myself lol

Bottom line is you were offered the car for MSRP, you refused to purchase. I called you, you did not return the call. You listed a car you do not own, that belonged to me on Facebook Marketplace, admittedly in your response and wanted to sell it for $20,000 over. You get upset if we sell a car for over sticker, but you want to flip the car for profit. Unfortunately we are not going to be able to satisfy you. I wish you nothing but the best and if you want to discuss the matter, you have my cell phone number.
