I brought my 2017 Nisson Rogue with 70k miles in to check and see if I needed anything fixed prior to heading on a road trip. I was given a 4,000 repair estimate and offered 7,850 for my car. That seemed unethical since not too long ago there was nothing but possible fluid replacements. I got estimates from other auto repair companies, all which came in about 25% to 30% of Nissan's estimate on the repairs. I asked a friend who works as a mechanic to look over my estimate. He looked behind my tires at the arms and said that they are a little worn but not in need of replacement. It will probably be needed around 150k. This was marked as "SAFETY CONCERN" on my estimate. Nissan dealerships have an honesty and transparency guarantee sign on the wall. So far, I haven't witnessed either. This is first Nissan (switching from Toyota) and this will be my last. But no, I'm not selling my car at below bottom dollar when it's in really great condition. This has been the worst experience I've had with a manufacturer, out of both foreign and domestic brands. The service tech came right out to greet me, told me each step that he needed to take, then walked me to a very comfortable waiting area. Always reputable and met that expectation. Completed the vehicle inspection quickly, with a video delivery via text for issues and non-issues.
