He I flew in from Dallas to purchase my new Rav 4 from Cavender Toyota! Brandon Price picked me up from the airport and drove me over to the store. He introduced me to Bert Barrera who rode with me on my test drive and explained all the details of my new ride. Both guys were extremely professional and great to work with! They introduced me to Milad Deais in Finance and we worked out the details. By the time we were finished my new vehicle was ready. They got my equipment set up and educated me on oil changes and tire rotations. I was in and out of the dealership in 1:30 hours!!! Thank you guys and thank you Cavender Toyota! More
It was going great until "management" decided to get involve I left this dealership about two hours ago after spending four hours there deciding between two trucks I have been checking out online. I'll say upfr I left this dealership about two hours ago after spending four hours there deciding between two trucks I have been checking out online. I'll say upfront I walked in there ready to buy today. The salesperson was nice enough he was patient as I spent more time that I probably needed deciding which Ram truck to buy. Eventually I decided and we began the arduous process of trade appraisal and financing. Everything went sideways when they offered me a much lower appraisal then other dealerships had offered me in the area. One of the managers in an attempt to be coy and implying that I was bluffing kept asking if Gunn offered you what you are asking for why didn't you buy from Gunn? My response of course was simple--They didn't have what I wanted. So one guy tagged out and another guy tagged in. This person I guess what the sales manager or something, last name was Davilla didn't catch the first name. He came in and played with the numbers trying to convince me that my car--that he kept telling me wasn't worth more than $8,000...he all of a sudden had $11,000 to give me for it...and oh by the way the price of the truck was conveniently much more than advertised. So I asked him you keep telling me my car isn't worth any money but now you have a number closer to what I wanted to begin with, so why didn't we start with that offer? Mr. Davilla again reiterated my car wasn't worth that much, so now I'm totally not buying a thing this guy is trying to pitch to me and I asked him a follow up question which was simply if my car isn't worth this much, than where are you getting this money from? I guess Mr. Davilla didn't appreciate my candor nor concerns because he promptly asked me to leave. So I left--I'll say that people were polite accept for the one manager who didn't appreciate me asking for my keys back. So that's my story. Other than that they have a great selection of vehicles one of which being an extremely low mileage 2016 Ram that I was prepared to drive home tonight had I not been asked to leave by Mr. Davilla. Also I will concede that yes my car does have hail damage on it it's still worth more than the $8,000 they tried to take me for as again I was quoted higher prices from other places that I did not buy from because once again they didn't have what I was looking for---this dealership does have a nice selection of used trucks, but that shouldn't necessitate me taking such a huge loss. As I read through other reviews from Google it appears there are complaints about an older gentleman that caused another customer to walk out. It's quite possible we are talking about the same person. If so I don't know why a business would retain employment of a man that refuses people that are willing to give them money. More
Sad service We started our car hunt online and found a great truck but then went to the dealer and they couldn’t find it.Our initial salesman, Greg, was awesome a We started our car hunt online and found a great truck but then went to the dealer and they couldn’t find it.Our initial salesman, Greg, was awesome and didn’t push us and wasn’t agitated when we sent him on a wild goose chase to find the truck we wanted. He wasn’t our issue. We settled for another truck after we spent about 6 hours there while our little dog was in the car waiting patiently. We were pre approved for 4% interest through our bank and they said they could do better so they ran it and never told us the result. We waited and waited and waited....We finally told them we need to leave because we also had another dog at home we needed to get to. The big boss came and told us we needed to stay and he would make us a better deal on the truck we settled for. We politely told him no multiple times after being harassed. We literally could not stay and my dogs aren’t going to suffer anymore because of the long wait! We came back as soon as they opened the next morning, did another test drive so they could play their salesman tricks, came back and they took us directly into the room where we signe papers. Nobody told us what interest rate they got back or how much we were actually paying for the car until they went through half the paperwork and I finally stopped them and asked. Turns out they only got back a 3.99% interest rate and didn’t want to tell us because they wanted to finance us. We thought there would be a time where we could talk about price since the night before they said they could save us a little money and bring the price down. When we asked the lady having us sign paperwork just got up and left like she knew that we busted them! The sales manager came in and told us he could see if they could do $500 off and then came back with a no. It wasn’t that they didn’t give us the $500 off it was that they didn’t communicate anything with us which to me is lying. There was somethin they didn’t want us to know and they know we figured them out. I’m disappointed that our great first day at this dealership turned out to be an awful experience! More

UPDATED: Dishonest and Would Not Buy Again There UPDATED: (read below for initial review)--I was contacted by David Reyes from the dealership who was going to take care of the jamming passenger handl UPDATED: (read below for initial review)--I was contacted by David Reyes from the dealership who was going to take care of the jamming passenger handle, scuff marks they left on the driver door, the chip on the INSIDE of the windshield, and spots on the inside of the headlights. They were going to bring the loaner to my office because I am an attorney who is in trial/court every day and also live 1.5 hours from the dealership, and take my car back to repair those issues since I purchased it 1 week ago. As of yesterday and this morning, we were still "on." I was pleasantly surprised that David was doing. HOWEVER, I filled out the Toyota survey today with my honest negative review. Almost 15 minutes after I submitted it, David called me to tell me that their offer to bring me the loaner and repair my car was not going to happen because "we don't think we can make you happy." So, I said, so you are not going to complete the "we owe you" ticket items and things you promised, and bring me the loaner like you said yesterday (and like Will said when we purchased the car)? He said, "That's correct." He then said I can drive down there (knowing good and well I live 1.5 hours from there and can't just leave court in the middle of trial) at my convenience. I said, "This is because I wrote a negative review?" He said yes and it seems I'm not going to be happy anyhow. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, I called Toyota Corp Financial and also the GS Admin (warranty company), who informed me my warranty wasn't funded until November 25 at 10pm! This is significant because I called on Nov. 25 morning to cancel the warranty and redo the contract so my monthly payments would lower, but Iker Fernandez said he couldn't do that since it "was already funded on 11/24." Essentially, he lied completely! I spoke with the bank themselves, and with warranty company (who was closed 11/24/17 and 11/25/17!!). I did call corporate today and they were floored at all of this. ORIGINAL REVIEW: To make a long story short(ish), I’ve been looking to trade in my new Mazda because it was hurting my back severely within a week of purchase. The RAV4 was a great car that felt good on my back. I had been looking for prices and speaking w people in North Austin and San Marcos—both great dealerships and honest. I then found a decent price on a Limited RAV4 in San Antonio online. I live close to Austin, and called the dealership and asked them if that online price was bottom line. If so, let me know. If not, what is it. Jonathan Narvaez told me “the best price we can give you is by having you present.” I asked him to clarify, and he said I can get the best price if I’m there. I told him i would leave work early, drive to the airport to get a Thanksgiving guest, then drive (what ended up being) 2 hours to San Antonio, but begged him please don’t lie to me because this is a long drive. So, I left work And picked up Dad at airport, drove 2 hours down to San Antonio in traffic. We get there. Jonathan says hello, then passes us on to another sales guy, Justin (very nice, but had no idea of the conversation Jonathan and Ihad). Then they low ball me on the trade in, telling me they don’t use KBB, and they didn’t need to (or want to) see what other Toyota dealerships offered me (Charles Maunde and Autonation in Austin would match KBB bc this was a brand new 2018 car i just bought 2 weeks prior). Then...Will came out and said the price on the RAV4 is firm, because this was an “ad” vehicle. He said it was posted online to draw people in hoping to buy something more expensive. My dad and I knew he was full of it, especially when he also told us there was nothing special about my 2018 Mazda CX-9–it’s made by Ford. I called the Mazda dealership (who are so amazing. I would recommend Roger Beasley to anyone! So nice and honest) and they said absolutely not. Two separate models, makes, and companies. Mazda is not Ford. I explained I drove a total of 3 hours there and felt deceived and lied to, and they didn’t care one bit. They came down $400 on the price of the online price, but that was it. I explained Charles Maunde in N Austin has a similar 2017 Platinum (more features) for less than this. Will said they’re probably not telling me the truth because it’s probably not on their lot. Guess what? It is. I called and verified w the manager there. In any case, I made the mistake of after 5 hours (yes, 5!!) of arguing over what I wanted them to come down another $400 and they wouldn’t, to just cave. I wish I didn’t. I will never recommend them to anyone else, and will make it my business to let fellow folks in San Antonio and surrounding cities that they are dishonest, flat out lie (an ad car posted online to pull people in? And I’m the lucky one who chose it?? Come on), and take advantage of out of towners. The one helpful person was Bobby in the detailing portion...who seemed genuine and honest. In all the dealerships I’ve been to, I’ve never been to one that was a “typical” old school car salesmen kinda place. This is it. Go elsewhere. No one tried to ever make things right, and that’s where they went wrong. More

Despite waiting for long periods in chairs for our sales agent to come back with a price, we never even made it to negotiation. If you want to buy from Cavender, you have to sign a sheet saying that you will agree to buy if the price is agreeable. I knew it wasn't a sales contract, but I wouldn't sign. The sales manager wouldn't let me negotiate a price if I didn't sign because I "wasn't following their procedures". I walked out and bought an Odyssey 20 minutes later from a dealership that uses a no-dicker technique. Cavender lost a sale--I would've purchased the Sienna. More
Excellent Customer Service!!! ***This review details my positive experience with the sales representative Spencer Herrera.*** What I originally envisioned as a dreadful experien ***This review details my positive experience with the sales representative Spencer Herrera.*** What I originally envisioned as a dreadful experience (purchasing a used car) proved to be a pleasant transaction. Greeted with a smile Spencer Herrera met my wife and I in the parking lot looking at a 2016 Prius C. He was very knowledgeable about the car and offered to show us around the lot to other cars that were similar. At no point did we feel rushed or pressured to make a hasty decision. In all we test drove three separate vehicles all different makes and models as Mr. Herrera provided us with the pros and cons for each. As I never make a large purchase without properly vetting my options, I told Mr. Herrera thank you for your time but now I need to crunch some numbers and do my own research that I would be back the following day. I expected him to really turn up the pressure and go for the “hard sell” but I was surprised when he stated “ok well here is my number and I look forward to seeing you again”. Honestly his demeanor is what really sold me. I made up my mind that day that even if I decided not to get one of the cars he had previously showed us I would continue to work exclusively with him on finding a used car. The purchasing process was a breeze as he walked us through every step. Even till this day he continues to go out of his way to ensure any question I have about the car is answered in a timely manner. I could not of asked for a better sales representative and encourage anyone looking for a used car to see Mr. Herrera, as I can personally vouch for his honesty and willingness to ensure the customer not only gets the best deal but also a loyal representative who is there when you need him!
