I Have Lost My Confidence in Cavender Based on my recent experience in attempting to purchase a vehicle at Cavender Toyota, you can expect to endure the typical sales tactics that give car Based on my recent experience in attempting to purchase a vehicle at Cavender Toyota, you can expect to endure the typical sales tactics that give car dealers a bad reputation. These include: • “Bait and Switch” – “We have the lowest prices in town and I am sure we can work out a deal”. • “Good Cop - Bad Cop” – “I will try to get my program director to approve this offer”. • “High Pressure” – “Here is the deal my program director will approve, but it is only good today”. I was greeted by a very personable and courteous sales rep who determined that I was a serious buyer. We were joined by a sales manager responsible for closing the deal. I made an offer that the sales manager took to his program director. He returned with a counter offer that included my proposed sales price if I agreed to have Cavender finance the sale at a rate 1% higher than my credit union. I agreed, signed documents with these terms and was then told that I must complete the paperwork in the finance dept. and drive the vehicle home that day. Since it was the end of the day and I was under a time constraint, I assured the dealership that I would return the following day to complete the deal and drive the vehicle home. This was denied and I was told the deal was only good if I drove the vehicle home immediately. I left the dealership without the vehicle. Later in the week I received several calls inviting me to return to the dealership to discuss the deal. I reiterated my terms and was told they would only discuss the deal in person. I returned to the dealership and made it clear that I only wanted to compete the deal we had previously discussed. Once in the show room, I was presented a purchase price higher than what we had previously agreed to. I rejected the proposal and was then presented with the same deal we had agreed to earlier in the week. Again, I signed a document with my commitment to the deal. Then another sales manager informed me that the deal was not approved, but I could complete the higher priced deal. I declined the offer. Since I had fully intended to complete the purchase we agreed to earlier in the week and to drive the vehicle off the lot, I was stranded at the dealership and had to call my wife for ride home. Before posting a review of Cavender online, I spoke with the Customer Relations Manager to determine whether my experience was an aberration or an accepted way in which Cavender does business. His response indicated that the sales staff were following regular Cavender procedures. This is just the way they do business at this car dealership. So much for my “confidence in Cavender”. More

Very simple and professional Jason Berlon was very professional and friendly salesmen. Normally car salesmen are very pushy and try to put a lot of pressure on you to buy a car as Jason Berlon was very professional and friendly salesmen.
