Through the years their sales and service has been top notch. I even sent my Father and Stepmother there to buy an Avalon. This time things were different. I had contacted Cavender via their web site asking for email only contact as i work 2-11 pm and I know they'd wake me up. Sure enough, they called anyway when I didn't reply immediately to the email Michael sent. I replied saying I wanted to look at 3 Corollas and gave them the inventory numbers. We then arranged a meeting for Monday the 1st of July. things changed and I called Michael and asked if we could come by on Saturday before I went to work, but we needed to do this quickly. I knew which vehicle I wanted, unless there was something really wrong with it. Michael had now known about the vehicles I was interested in for a couple of days. I made it clear we needed to do this quickly as my wife had another appointment. Michael did warn me he was recovering from knee surgery and wasn't very ambulatory, but he'd have another associate work with me. I called to let him know we were in route. When I got there, it was as if I'd done nothing prior. Michael got me with "JC" to look at the cars. Although Michael knew the inventory numbers no one knew where they were. I now know all the possible lots Cavender puts used cars - twice. Turns out "JC" is color blind and didn't know what Falcon Gray looked like. He now knows it is a lovely shade of brown to him... We lost over an hour driving around trying to find the car. We had driven past it twice before we finally stopped. I checked out the car, told JC, "This is the one," and off we went to get in line for finance. We bank at RBFCU and were already approved (not pre-approved) for a load up to $40k so I thought this should be a breeze. Now let me state that I understand dealerships are in business to make money, but the fiasco I went through over $12.00 was unnecessary and frustrating. I almost walked off the lot over $12.00. Then "magically" he noticed something was “wrong” and we were under the monthly payment I had determined was all I was willing to pay. Son of a gun how that works... Yes, I bought the car, I love Corollas and I'll recommend Cavender again, but this whole thing could have been done in maybe an hour and a half, had Michael done any work to prep for my visit. That is why my rating shows as average. I love Cavender as a whole and have all my service done there. I'll buy from them again, I'm sure. This visit was not up to their normal excellent service. The first sales agent quoted me a price to get me to visit the car dealership in person. Sales tactic. Negotiations took three and half hours. Lots of back and forth with thought and figures. Lots of sales tactics. At the end I got the bottom line price that I wanted. Low balled me on my trade in but I made it up will the savings on my new car. I am very happy with my new 2019 Toyota Prius. Much better than my old car! More
