To be clear, I am in no way confused. A clear disclaimer about additional fees would correlate to taxes, tag, title, registration fees. That is not included in this complaint as it is common sense. The complaint covers the three vehicle “extras” that we were told come with every used car. If it is your policy to add three line items to every used car and these add ons are mandatory, then it should be included in the internet pricing. My complaint is that there was no way to buy the car for the listed internet price, not counting all the associated processing fees. We wanted no add ons and were forced to accept the auto glass anti-theft as we were told the etching had already been done and then low and behold we were sent out to dinner because they needed more time with the car. So was the etching done previously and couldn’t be taken off the price? Or was this yet another dishonest tactic? Do you see where I’m coming from? Once you have eroded trust, it makes the customer question everything. You may be able to cover your xxx legally by saying there is a disclaimer, but that doesn’t make it an ethical business practice. We were told this was done on every used car, making it a standard policy of this dealership. That makes this a class action matter. I’m asking that you revise this practice. It isn’t fair to not honor your advertised price and add in mandatory services. If you add them to every single used car then those several thousand dollars worth of charges should be listed on your internet listing to be completely upfront on the cost with your customer. How is this not false or deceptive advertising? Can I walk into the dealership and buy the car for the listed base price plus the tax, tags, titles, and processing fees? NO Why? Because of 3 mandatory line items Then? Just be upfront and add the undercoating and top coat and anti theft window etching price into the internet price since it’s mandatory for every vehicle.
