High Hopes Dashed My wife and I were in the market for a larger vehicle with a child on the way. She decided she liked the Chevy Tahoe and during a cursory search, we My wife and I were in the market for a larger vehicle with a child on the way. She decided she liked the Chevy Tahoe and during a cursory search, we found one at Medved in Castle Rock. I called the salesman, Steve Boatman, and explained that I wanted my wife to look at the vehicle to see if a Tahoe was truly what she wanted as she had not been inside one. I am a firefighter and work 24 hours so I was unable to be there when she went down. (Our schedules don't coincide well) The salesman stated that he would treat here like she was his own wife. According to her, she was treated well and for that, I am thankful. My wife decided that she liked the vehicle and wanted to make the purchase. This is where I made the mistake of not insisting she wait for me. The purchase process was ok according to her but there were/are issues with the vehicle itself. The hood was in need of repainting and luckily, that was taken care of. My concern is that used vehicles are supposed to undergo an inspection. The passenger side mirror does not work. I consider that a safety feature. There is also a dent in the front right quarter panel. I saw it in the photo my wife sent me that night immediately when she got home from the dealer. When I asked the salesman about these items, I was told that the mirror would be taken care of but the dent would not unless we paid for it as he did not notice it that evening. Disappointing for sure. I was told the mirror required a part to be ordered and it would be fixed within 10 days. That was over a month ago and now none of my phone calls will be returned. Multiple calls to the sales manager and the salesman have not been answered or returned. This is just a great lesson that you absolutely cannot rely on anyones word and anything you need or want must be in the "we owe" paperwork. Check, double check and then have a mechanic check any used vehicle and never rely on anyone's word. I take responsibility for allowing the purchase without me being there. Overall, the vehicle is really nice and I am thankful that my wife was treated respectfully. The issues we have seem minor but the handling of these concerns has been so disappointing. Gone are the days of good customer service. It seems that now, the customer provides the service. I believe in honesty and a persons word, as naive as that may be, but will pass along my lesson learned as best I can in the only way I know how. I truly hope this helps others out there. Buyer beware. More

Castle Rock Chevy Service I have a 2009 Hummer HT3 that has been serviced at Castle Rock Chevy since I bought it (at a different dealership). It has nearly 110,000 miles on it I have a 2009 Hummer HT3 that has been serviced at Castle Rock Chevy since I bought it (at a different dealership). It has nearly 110,000 miles on it now, but it is still in great shape. What is important about that? The employees at Medved Chevy Service treat me like family. I'm greeted by first name EVERY time I go in there. Recently, my granddaughter was out here to visit from Iowa, and her foreign car needed an oil change to avoid voiding the warranty. I called Tim Konitshek--no problem. We got service the next day. In and out in less than an hour. Most recently, I needed an oil change on the Hummer. I made an appointment in advance. When I got there, I was greeted by name, and Tim asked if everything was OK. Mechanically, YES, but I told him my only problem was that it was dirty due to winter driving. It was kind of a joke, but Medved serviced the Hummer and washed it. Again--in and out in less than an hour. Service like that happens because they CARE. No matter where I buy my next vehicle, I'll get it serviced at Medved Castle Rock. If I was King of the World for one day, I wish the Medved Sales staff would realize that one of their best selling points is the performance of their service department. To be fair, my last vehicle purchase was in 2009, so maybe the sales staff has improved. Due to the excellent service, I'm willing to give them a chance to earn my business on a new purchase. More
