You are absolutely correct in that there was a stop sale on the vehicle of interest which is why we could not allow you to drive off of our lot. In addition, you should have received your refund as soon you purchased the other vehicle. Our apologies for any confusion regarding this matter and we do appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We are sorry you feel that way. In review of your files, multiple test drives were taken with technicians but the described shutter could not be duplicated. In addition, we ran a diagnosis but no problem codes occurred. Without being able to replicate the problem, we could not fix it.

Brinn, We have spoken with the sales associate and reviewed your delivery documentation. It was made clear your vehicle, along with many other vehicles are being delivered without chips, therefore certain functions will not work. However, chips will be installed as soon as we can acquire them from the factory which is why you signed a form acknowledging this solution. Unfortunately, most, if not all, dealerships are in a similar situation. It is not meant to be deceitful. We are simply at the mercy of the manufacturer. As for your trade, prior to going in to the finance office, it was explained and agreed upon that we were offering just north of $33,000 which was more than our original offer and the tax credit would be in addition to, reaching that $35,000 value your requested. Again, there was no deceit. Transparency is a key value at Gary Lang Auto Group. We do apologize if you misunderstood any part of your transaction. We did our best to work with the bank of your choice, provide you with all pertinent information, trade numbers and transparency to help you make the best decision for you. And in the end deliver your new vehicle three hours away to your doorstep.

Upon reading other reviews, it looks like the whole price thing is a normal at Gary Lang. There was NOT transparency. I thank you for delivering my new vehicle, but if that wasn't the only vehicle I could find that fit my specific needs, I would have no gone through with the purchase. I am an accountant and deal with money and numbers everyday. I know exactly what the numbers were to the penny. The heated seat chip was mentioned, UPON DELIVERY) There was no mention before the purchase. My park assist chip was not mentioned AT ALL until I called a week later asking why it didn't work. There should be a requirement that all dealerships need to disclose that information before a sale. I am not saying I would have not purchased this vehicle, but I should not have to call multiple times after I purchased a vehicle to figure out why a feature doesn't work. True honesty keeps people coming back.

One other thing of note. In regard to your trade in and our quote that includes a tax credit. If we did not explain it to our customers with the tax credit included up front, they may sell their vehicle on their own and potentially lose money on valuable tax savings. If we didn't tell you about that credit and you sold your vehicle on your own, you would be displeased at the lack of communication/transparency and your potential of loss of savings at the time of your purchase. Example: Gary Lang Auto Offer $33,000 + $2000 Tax Credit = $35,000 vs. Sell on your Own You receive an offer of $34,000 and you accept it. Now you have lost $1000 by not trading in your car to the dealership. This is why it is so important that we explain the full benefit of trading in your vehicle.

We appreciate your review. Gary Lang Kia has a better selection than most of the dealers in our area because we purchased new EV6's from other Kia dealers around the country. In doing so, we have had to paid over MSRP for some of these vehicles to be part of our selection. With that being said, we are in the business to make a profit but will not do so at the expense of our integrity by price gauging. Again, please shop online and note that most dealerships are charging over MSRP on a wide variety of vehicles. Good luck in your search.

My complaint wasn't that you chose to gouge, it was that you chose to let me engage with the dealership while thinking the price was at msrp as listed on your website, only to be informed that the price GOUGE would be 10k over msrp. Sir, you should step outside and look at the sign on your dealership... It says KIA, lol. Who do you think you are trying to GOUGE 10k on a Kia. LOL.

wow, all that good press and you chose to throw it all away by gouging customers 10k over msrp. We bought a hybrid rav4 last december and they could have tried to gouge too, but the toyota dealer didn't. That shows a level of class that you don't have. Also, the forte is on the consumer reports list of cars customers are least likely to buy again...

I left a 1 star review for you here simply because you listed your vehicle on your website for 10k less than what your actual selling price was in store. Sorry if this independent review site isn't a safe space for dealers. Frankly, any IL resident that reads this should email their representative and demand the same regulation as other retailers. You don't see Target or walmart adding a markup at the register over the price on the shelf, why should you get away with it? Also, you monopolizing all the cars in the region and reselling them at a high markup while calling it a service to your customers is just sociopathic for money. I'd call it un-american, but monopolizing and overpricing seems to be totally american right now... And lastly, in response to your 4/11 post... it struck me as sad actually that so many thousands of people at Kia have researched, sourced, built and marketed a product to those positive results, all to just have the name dragged down to garbage just because some greedy dealers here in america are running around buying the available cars and jacking up the price and screwing its customers in the final step to market. I'm sure they are seeing this happen and are just hanging their heads in embarrassment and shame.
