I had set up an appointment to drive a 2020 Subaru Legacy at Gary Lang Subaru. I drove 2+ hours to get there last Tuesday evening. I had originally called their toll free number from my work over my lunch bu at Gary Lang Subaru. I drove 2+ hours to get there last Tuesday evening. I had originally called their toll free number from my work over my lunch but when I called back to set up the showing, I gave Cora my cell phone number, too, and emphasized wanting to know the actual car I wanted to drive and mostly likely buy that evening would be there. Well, guess what? The service manager loaned the car out for the evening, despite knowing someone had an appointment and was coming from a far distance. No one called my cell phone. The service manager had allegedly called my work number but he didn't leave a message of any type. So, I couldn't have known to turn around. The bottom-line is that my son and I both wasted over 5 hours driving and watching them look for a car they probably knew from moment one wasn't really there. They did very conveniently have a newer and slightly more expensive Legacy they would've gladly sold us. This was not an option because I was looking for a cash deal and enough was set aside to close on the exact car we went to drive. I was irritated and extremely disappointed. We were down a car and needed a replacement ASAP. I even offered to buy it sight unseen if they could deliver it up to Madison in the next couple of days for me, which still would've required another hour-plus of driving for us, but they were not truly interested in making me a satisfied customer. I will not be returning to this business. It could've been so simple, that was the exact car we wanted. The young salesman was apologetic, but clearly this wasn't his doing. The manager that evening was out and about but never bothered to stop and speak to me about the debacle. More
