We’ve had the worst experience with Carter VW Service! They made us feel terrible and our car still needs a repair for a recall from the dealership. When an appointment is made a month prior, you thin They made us feel terrible and our car still needs a repair for a recall from the dealership. When an appointment is made a month prior, you think they would have the wallet size part for the ignition waiting. Not these guys. In fact, they’ll make you and your wife take work off, drive 30 miles with toles in separate cars to make the 10AM appointment to find out that that the part is not there. It blows our minds how 5 dudes sitting alone behind a counter can’t simply call to let us know. Instead, we were met with excuses and a “oh we are so sorry”. Totally unprofessional D-. No, a solid F. We say beware to all, especially to our friends and family. Stay away from Carter! More
Bought a 2021 VW Tiguan SEL Premium from Donielle last week. She was at all times professional, not pushy and went out of her way to get me the best deal. After all was said and done, I was presented with week. She was at all times professional, not pushy and went out of her way to get me the best deal. After all was said and done, I was presented with a tremendous value proposition. $4500 off of MSRP, 1.9% financing on the balance after trade-in of my car, plus 3 years free maintenance on the vehicle. The features of the vehicle were well explained to me and I am very happy with my purchase. The finance manager explained various options to me without being pushy. Even got a discount on the extra floor mats I bought. All in all a very positive experience. More

I saw an ad for 2020 vw gti for $27999 from their website. I called and made an appointment with Michael. I visited the dealership and the worst experience began. Michael couldn't find the car I saw website. I called and made an appointment with Michael. I visited the dealership and the worst experience began. Michael couldn't find the car I saw on their website. Apparently they were moving websites and the car I saw was from their old website. But he took the pictures from my phone of the car and went to go talk to his boss. He said the price was "CASH Price" but there were nowhere on the website that it said "CASH Price", it said "Our Price". So he was able to work the price that was advertised. VW had a special offer for 2020 gti at 0% through VW credit. So I wanted to apply for financing through VW to get 0% as I have excellent credit. Michael kept me waiting for a very long time talking to his boss. He informs that I cannot apply the loan through VW because they just cannot. I showed him the VW website with fine details and there were nothing about special pricing range in order to apply the loan though VW. He brought his manager and obviously manager says the same thing. But as a consumer, customers will come to look at the car at the advertised price and will apply for the 0% to save money. Manager gave me 2 options. Either I get the car at $27999 and apply through different lender, or I get 0% at $29999. I said no, I want the car $27999 as advertised and apply through VW credit. They went on to explain how they wouldn't make any profit off of this transaction. That's not my problem nor any other consumer's problem. I was not negotiating price down from $27999, I wanted to buy the car at the advertised price through 0%. The dealership advertised a price that they would not honor. That is just unethical, unpractical, and unprofessional. Consumer goes to the dealership after seeing the advertisement. And quite frankly, both Mike and the manager had this WHITE people power ego in their tone of voice and verbiage. I guess this dealership treats their customers like this in that not so rich looking neighborhood which is plainly wrong in customer service business. Bottom line is, they would rather lose their reputation and not put people first even if they made the mistake. They should not advertise something they cannot honor. The manager asked us to leave and so we did and took our business else where and bought the new gti! Do NOT go here and get disrespected and mistreated! More

Extensive online research for a used car lead me to Carter Volkswagen. I found a low-mileage, beautiful, used 2002 Volkswagen listed on Carter's online inventory. I contacted Jonathan Fredericks to sch Carter Volkswagen. I found a low-mileage, beautiful, used 2002 Volkswagen listed on Carter's online inventory. I contacted Jonathan Fredericks to schedule a test drive. I was met with friendly and helpful customer service. When I asked for Carfax and maintenance documentation, I was given a very thorough report. I was very impressed with the quality and look of the car and was able to purchase it the same day within a few hours at a price that was unbeatable!! All of the horror stories I have heard over the years about the general "dealership experience" were COMPLETELY contradicted through my experience at Carter Volkswagen. The sales and finance staff walked me through the car-buying process thoroughly and patiently. I never felt pressured or rushed to make a decision!! Even after discovering that the heater in the car was blowing cold a couple days later, Jonathan met with me to confirm the problem. He even scheduled a complimentary diagnosis and service, even though I had purchased the car "as-is" without a warranty. In addition, and in the meantime, I was given a loaner car for two days while my car was being serviced. The heater problem was solved quickly and I drove away, yet again, a very happy customer!! I look forward to future/return business with Carter Volkswagen and will recommend them to all of my friends!! More

In and Out of warranty. Over 8 years, the car has taken its share of knocks and they've seen to it that it comes back spiffy. And, they are still in Civilization. They aren't located out in some Auto-ghetto in Fife or Bellevue. They are right in Ballard, with the people and the restaurants. What more could one ask? More
