It's hard to find a dealership that truly cares about customers and not price gouging and taking advantage of the current car market situation. Again, thanks for all your help. Very poor customer service and general people skills. There seems to be lack of quality management and cohesiveness across the different departments. Keeping in mind that the economy at the time of my purchase was not in a buyers favor; however, I would still expect to be treated with respect and with some common courtesy. We ended up putting a $1000 down payment on a truck that was suppose to be arriving in early September with an agreement that I would need to pay and pick up the truck within 3 days of its arrival at the dealership. There were two trucks that were being allocated to the dealership, one of which was being traded to another dealership the other would be saved for me. The sales rep was supposed to have called me the same the next day to tell me which truck was available for me and the one that would be held for me. He never did. The truck arrived earlier than expected (that is a positive bonus), but the dealership never notified me until 1 and half days later. They were unwilling to give me 3 days from the time of notification to pick up the truck and expected me to pick it up within the next day and a half. When we arrived to pick up the truck it was incomplete and missing our ordered accessories which we watched the sales person order for us at the time we made our down payment. Long story short, they never ordered the accessories. The Accessories rep was supposed to have called me a week before the truck arrived to finalize the order and make sure everything would be installed by the time I came in to finalize the purchase and drive it home. He never called. We were told we could leave the truck there until the accessories came in then they would install them and we could come back down, pay for it and drive it home. However, they changed their minds. They called/texted me multiple times the next day demanding that I come back down that day to pay for everything or they would give the truck to another buyer. So we had to make another trip down to the dealership, again, all for their lack of communication. I understand that mistakes happen. We all make them. So I am not really that upset about the mistakes in communication and poor management. What is upsetting is the lack of any effort to make any sort of amends or compensation for those mistakes. That compensation doesn't even need to be in the form of money or discounted prices. A simple act of a supervisor or manager coming out to apologize for the inconvenience they caused me and at least assuring me a date of when my accessories would arrive an assurance that my truck would be given a little more priority in completing would have sufficed. Instead, all I got were unfriendly faces and pushy sales tactics. Overall, I got a great truck for a fair market value, probably even a bit lower of a price than competitor dealerships in the nearby area. However, I were to do it all over again, which I likely am, to buy my wife a new car in another couple of year, I would not return to Carson City Toyota. I will happily spend a little more for a dealership that has a more friendly environment and give me a better overall experience. More
