Yesterday my dashboard told me that in 150 miles the truck would have a max speed of 5mph unless I had the DEF system serviced at the dealer. So I contacted Carman Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge in New Castle, DE for help. Initially, they treated me as if I were stupid on the phone and told me to just add DEF fluid in to the truck. After explaining, again, that the DEF tank was not empty, they advised I bring the truck in for service. I dropped the truck off Thursday night and luckily was able to borrow a relatives car so that I could still go to work the next day. It was my understanding that Carman would contact me today with an update on what was wrong. I was wrong. I eventually had to call them only to speak with an extremely unhelpful service representative named Tony. Tony told me the part they need is on back order and that he doesn't know when it will be fixed. Meanwhile, no regard for my obligations and work schedule of needing a vehicle. To make matters worse, I asked Tony if the service would be covered under the warranty. Tony did not know if it was covered. How is it possible to know what is wrong with a vehicle, know the parts needed to fix it, but not know if it's covered under warranty? Fed up with Tony's lack of answers, I contacted Ram (800 992-1997) and the representative I talked to informed that Tony hadn't even ordered the part to fix my truck yet. After trying to help me, she informed me that until the part is ordered, she is unable to submit a request for a loaner car for me to use. Finally, a few hours later, Carman ordered the part, and a request was submitted for a loaner car. Then I find out that the request for a loaner car takes 1-2 business days. Here I am, Friday night, no truck, no loaner, no way to get around, and most importantly, no answers. I bought a truck for nearly $60k and after 21k miles, not only am I unable to use it, but I can't even receive a loaner car so that I can go to work? What am I supposed to do? More
Worst Service EVER! I don't know where to start honestly however I have a Dodge Avenger that has been to this service center two times in two weeks for transmission issue I don't know where to start honestly however I have a Dodge Avenger that has been to this service center two times in two weeks for transmission issues!! Tonight would have been the third time in over two weeks however I decided to go to a reputable service center at Newark Dodge and have it fixed the right way the first time!!Unfortunately, I have dealt with Mark both times and he refused to go over what was wrong with the transmission both times after I specifically asked what they did to "fix it"". He was rude and short with me after I questioned the work his shop had done. The transmission is covered under warranty and yet they continue to put my life in jeopardy as each time the transmission failed it was on a very busy highway or in the middle of an intersection. They can't accept cars onto their lot after hours as they lock up like Ft Knox overnight. They will not call you back after you ask them to do so multiple times. Mr know it all Mark stated the first time this issue came about the car would be ready by the next day...well guess what it wasn't as they needed additional parts...you don't what parts you need when you first looked at it? Rookie move! No shuttle service was ever offered and only a lot of broken promises and never any follow through to take care of the customer. Stay away from this service center you will not be satisfied. Dodge transmissions have been known to be junk but this certainly is an eye opener/ Never Dodge again!! Mary W. More

Tony made and appointment for me the next day on my lunch hour. I took it in and within 15 minutes I had a new rim! I thought it would cost a fortune but I was wrong. Including the new hub cap, I paid less than $65 dollars. When I took it in for a burnt out headlight, I was done in less than 10 minutes. I see how busy they are and expect to wait a long time for my car to be serviced but I have been pleasantly surprised at how quick things move. About a month ago my car would not start. I call Tony and he said if I could get a jump to bring it right into the shop. The way I was parked at work it would be impossible to jump it. Tony was such a big help and gave me the number to the Fiat Road Service who was going to tow it in for me for free. When they got to my work, the driver confirmed it was my battery, took out his battery box and it started. I immediately took it to Carman and Tony ran a full scan of the engine to be 100% sure nothing else was wrong. He came in and told me the scan could take up to 30-45 minutes. It was done within 30 minutes and my new battery was installed. The entire wait time was about 40 minutes. I won't ever take my Fiat any where else. Tony and the team are the best I've ever dealt with. Quick to schedule appointments, they work around my schedule, stay late to finish a job, open late some days. What more could I ask for? Love Carman service! Keep up the good work, I'll be in soon for my oil change! More

I have never been treated so poorly from a company I had recently purchased a car from. Because of their incompetence, I was put into an awful situation that should have never happened. Their lack of knowledge and organization was blamed on me. In reality they made the mistake and instead of owning up to it, they decided to try to put the blame on me. I will never recommend this dealership to anyone. More

It is obvious that the damage to the skid plate occurred during an oil change or other service at this dealership as the car has never been serviced anywhere else in nearly four years. I was informed of this damage at Valvoline where I took the car for a routine oil change in that I could not wait the nearly two weeks for an appointment at Carman. Carman refuses to own up to this damage and would charge me $200 for the repair. I will now have to seek Fiat service elsewhere. I cannot remotely recommend Carman service for even the most minor service. More
Awful, untrustworthy, possibly incompetent. My elderly grandmother was told that she needed to have an ignition coil, plugs, and wires changed to correct issues with her car that really did not My elderly grandmother was told that she needed to have an ignition coil, plugs, and wires changed to correct issues with her car that really did not correlate with the changing of those parts whatsoever, but they insisted that those were the causes of the issues. So she paid the $700 that she was overcharged in exchange for their word that she'd be able to drive off the lot with the issues corrected. When she returned to retrieve the car, after several weeks of course, the issues remained and she was told that no money would be refunded. The service team had a misguided idea that "clearing codes" and actually fixing a car are the same thing. Rather than just admitting that they mis-diagnosed, or just plain and simply did not know what was wrong with the car to begin with, they took advantage of her and she is now out $700+ and properly functioning car. They'd like another $200 to continue their "services", if that's what you choose to call them. The manager is conveniently out of town, and they have offered no assistance in rectifying or attempting to work with her in even the slightest way after she's already been through so much. More

The problem was a Shift Solenoid issue inside the transmission which is covered by my Power train Warranty. When I dropped it off the AC and everything worked fine other then it would only run in 4th gear due to the shift solenoid. They then call me and tell me that my TCM (Transmission Control Module) was bad and would cost about $1100 and not covered by warranty. So i picked vehicle up and Air Conditioning no longer worked. I then did my homework and found out that they blew a fuse, didn't even try to diagnose the issue and just said that it was the TCM. I swapped out the fuse, the AC started working again and the TCM code went away. Since then, I have taken to another dealership and they have fixed the only problem I had which was a faulty shift solenoid. To make things worse, I have had to pay Carman $120 for an uncovered warranty issue that they caused which was only a blown fuse that they caused. I have also tried to reach out to their Service director after and automated recording phone call was made from him and have yet to hear back. Which I don't think that I ever will. So if you need work to your vehicle, take your service elsewhere unless you want more problems then what you brought it in with. Thank You, Brian I. More
