Well there is a little more to the story here. The Jeep is 15 years old and yes it drove in the shop. Our techinician went to place the Jeep in park and the shifter cable bushing snapped. This is a common problem on older Jeep and it can happen at any time. The shifter cable is located above the transmisssion, pulling the jeep in the bay would not cause this to brake. Customer was upset, which we understand their position. This is nothing that we did that casued this , or anything we could of prohibited. The cost to repair is about $700 and they want us to pay for it. Then they will pay for the part only...we pay the labor. we declined. The customer called the police and demanded they do something since we damaged their Jeep. They then threated socail media and reviews.... When ever there is a disagreement between 2 party’s , one is always Rude if other party doesn’t agree. Customer stated we had damaged their wheel in service, while we did an oil change. Our service lifts are not ride on lifts , they lift from below the vehicle. Is it possible, of course anything is possible. This is highly not probable though. We offered to have a wheel repair company repair the wheel at no charge , as god will. Customers father in refused repair and demanded we replace the rim. We denied that , now we are rude. At this point we left our offer on the table and we stand by this. Now have we made mistakes before, absolutely. We have no issues doing a repair as good will.

I don’t think anyone takes “mistakes” lightly when it comes to their hard worked/earned brand new belongings so of course frustration sets in ESPECIALLY when it comes to your kids hard worked for belongings! We spend good money on our cars and expect to enjoy them before its values depreciates. Also we raised our kid to be honest and caring so the fact your basically saying he’s lying about the damage is ridiculous he definitely isn’t lying about the spill of oil all over the place (all over my driveway) that you assumed was cleaned up by the new tech that was “guided” while moving the vehicle. Are you going to pay to have the oil all over my driveway cleaned? Damage is done move on and do what you have to and we’ll do the same! Thanks

Doug, When you have a chance, please reach out to me in regard to your review. Unfortunately showing up at 3:00 without an appointment for service is surprising from someone who states he is a service mgr. We run our service department by appointments, we can handle some additional drop offs each day. We usually leave spots for tow- ins. Leaving a unit for up to 2 weeks is an issue, we simply just don't have the space to store cars. Presently we are not taking heavy repairs in unless you're our customer. we are backed up with transmission and motor work until at least February. It's unfortunate but we need to catch up and until then we have to control our schedule. We don't like turning down additional work, but we are trying to control our situation. Hi, since posting the review the check light has come on, I had the tires measured and two are 4/32 and one is 3/32. How did that pass the certification review process. I contend, but can't prove at this time that the tires were swapped before I picked up the truck. And the front end - the tow is out. So much for a Carman Dodge Certified Vehicle.
